They were together for a bit but fell apart largely because of Cave's drug problems. The Boatman's Call was largely about her. Maybe the most musically brilliant couple ever while it lasted

This is very old traditional British (and American) Ballad. Dylan, Peggy Seeger, NLCR and many others have recorded it, too. Nice to hear timeless music still being performed in the "modern" age. They do a creditable job on their arrangement.

In response to the hypothetical question, 'Is "Jackson" really a love song?', Lee wrote, 'If love rides a white horse and votes the straight pacifist ticket, the answer is no...but if love is an everyday thing...good and bad...up and down...sad and happy...warm and warmer...then yeah!!!" I love Lee Hazlewood. I don't really know if Nick Cave considers Hazlewood to be an inspiration, but I do know that Blixa Bargeld and Rowland S. Howard loved Lee Hazlewood too. Blixa Bargeld covered Hazlewood's "Sand" (see here: ruclips.net/video/znubGHJm5ag/видео.html), and Rowland S.
