    step1 : buy the nightshift.
    step2: change the handlebar with that on icon version.
    step 3: enjoy the best scrambler version on the market.

    Had my icon new since 2019. Done 35000 km so far, I'm based in Asia. I've done everything on it. Commute about town ( Hanoi) every day, done offroading up on the Ha Giang loop( look it up) .Even did a one day blast 14 hours from Hoi An to Hanoi. Fantastic bike. Love mine .

    Out of the all modern scrambler designs, this Nightshift is the sexiest one. I can’t stop admiring it and it makes me feel like jump right onto it and take off.

    I think the icon is great, its a pure scrambler style bike, comfy, strong midrange and corners well, de handlerbars are oldschool, better go for the trident instead of the nightshift if you want more road focused

    I'd get the regular Icon and customize the heck out of it. My biggest gripe with the Nightshift (besides those goofy looking side panels) is the spoked and tubed wheels on the Nightshift. They might look cool, but I hate running tubes on a street bike. I'd get the cheaper Icon, and use the savings to customize it and make it look the way I want it to!

    • @Nick-Gye
      @Nick-Gye 3 года назад

      Hi John, why don’t you like tubes on a street bike?

    • @johnridesadv2512
      @johnridesadv2512 3 года назад +6

      @@Nick-Gye You get a puncture with a tube and it's a major hassle to fix. If you're tubeless you can atleast plug it to get home. I've also heard that a puncture on a tube is more likely to cause a crash because it's such a sudden failure, whereas with tubeless alot of times you just get a slow leak.

    • @kingy2063
      @kingy2063 3 года назад

      Completely agree John, in fact the spoke/tubed wheel combo is a deal breaker on any bike for me precisely for the reasons you gave.

    Hey Motobob, love your vids, keep ‘em coming!
    @3:47 small correction, there IS phone connectivity via the Ducati Multimedia System (an optional accessory) Once installed it actually lets you do quite a few things to be honest (except for visual turn by turn navigation, you only get the audio instructions). Unfortunately Ducati doesn’t publicize it that much, so many people don’t know it exists!

    How reliable are these Ducati Scrambler motorbikes?
    How well built are they?
    I am just so dubious of anything Italian. Saying that VW own Ducati.
    Are the service and repair costs high compared to a Honda?
    You can get a lot of Honda motorbike for the same money as that Ducati Scrambler.

    • @paolobottino4945
      @paolobottino4945 3 года назад +1

      The bike is actually quite reliable. It’s got the classic air cooled 803cc engine that many Ducatis of the past had (produced in hundreds of thousands of units), very little electronics and a simple build/design.
      As for the service and repair costs, it depends numerous things, including where you live and what you’re comparing it to (including what model of Japanese bike your are comparing it to).
      All in all it may just be the best Ducati you can on the market: relatively cheap to buy, reliable, gorgeous (personal opinion, but shared by many others) and most of all a blast to drive around town and on back roads.
      I hope this comment was helpful for you.
      Ciao and ride safe 🤙🏼.

      @splodge57 3 года назад +1

      Ducati servicing costs are higher, more frequent and more critcal, the belts have to be changed.
      They are not as reliable as a Honda. That said I've had 3 of them, great bikes but just not ride and forget like the Japanese bikes can be.

      Man, you should be more informed about italian excellence. Biles like Ducati, Aprilia, Gilera, Guzzi, Malaguti, Benelli, Moto Morini, etc. Cars like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Alfa Romeo. And not talking about tales, food, art, design, clothes…The only factor that influences this excellence today, is globalization and price competition. So, things can change and did change for many stuff, but this didn’t happen with Ducati: they raised prices, they didn’t lower quality. This is my 3rd Ducati, so crossing 20 years of production I can tell you that this last one has the same quality the older had too. Just more modern, of course, but still amazing bikes like once.

  • @robbikebob

    Ducati has a truly exciting motorcycle in their Scrambler, I wish I could get excited enough to buy one. However, whether it's disrespect for the intelligence of their customers or the plain out greed to be such monstrous pricks to make a motorcycle that requires you to take your bike in to them to do a simple oil change tells me Ducati is not a company I'll consider doing business with until they pull their noses out of their asses. While greed in today's world is getting to be a more normal thing, I'll certainly not engage in business with a company who is acting either so blatantly greedy or so disrespectfully. An owner should be able to change their own oil.
