- Last Summer I hiked the Continental Divide Trail. 2,700 miles from Canada to Mexico. This is a 40 minute film I made about my experience. I am hoping to release two more videos in the next few months: one about hitchhiking across Canada, and another about taking buses down to South America.
Video shot on: Sony ZV1 ii
Film stills shot on my Dad's old Olympus XA from 1980

Could you let me in on the model of your yellow jacket 🙏
thank you! Its a cheap froggs toggs jacket haha. $20
@@aottati Amazing as I noticed you were still using it at the end of the trail 🤠✔️
I used one, might go back? Not easy finding a light jacket that can do wind and rain showers
Looking forward to your next video
what was your start and finish dates? Great cinematography. thanks for sharing
june 28th to oct 11th. thanks for watching!
That’s my Bobby boiii
Amazing video! So glad to see a SOBO trek for once -- seems like a lot of the vloggers go NOBO.
Any chance you'd feel comfortable sharing the date you hit the San Juans? Looking at a SOBO this year, and a little worried whether I'll beat the winter 🙃
I got to Lake City on September 10th and got to the New Mexico Border on September 17th. The "bubble" was a few weeks back and they hit some more significant snow storms and even colder weather. The snow melts pretty quickly in September, but I'd definitely recommend going quickly and trying to get through there as early as possible. Good luck on your hike next year!!
@aottati Great info, thank you so much!
Great video, congrats on the Triple Crown. When was your start date? I’m doing a SOBO LASH this summer.
I started 6/28. Happy trails, enjoy your hike!!
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing!
I will be hiking Nobo this year.
A few questions if i might:
you spent only 2600$. Thats way less then other budgets I read about. Is that because you spent 0$ on hotels? What about restaurants in towns?
103 days is really fast, your longest day was 40. Did you have many days that were close to that or did you only have a few zeros?
What was your base weight?
Thanks, Dirk
Best of luck on your NOBO hike! I didn't spend any money on hotels, ate at a restaurant in every other town, tried to keep expenses low in resupply. Most days I tried to get to 30, and tried to avoid zeroes. Baseweight was around 9 pounds or so.
0 nights in a bed, but 3 zeros (and 4 nights?) in Denver; did you join a homeless encampment there? just curious
haha good question! I slept on a climbing pad on my friends floor to be exact. dangerously close to a bed I know....
HEEEY bear :^)
heeey George!
We can tell when you're quoting yourself.
