I want to Speak Italian and Portuguese so badly 😢 If a genie grants me a wishes I want him to put the knowledge of all Latin languages in my head 😂
I have been learning Portuguese for a long time, as learning a language is one of those things that is perpetual by nature. I found that I could get by in Spain as the structure is similar and a lot of the words sound close even though they are spelt differently. Italian is a bit different as the vocabulary is very different but my sense was that the structure of sentences is similar. My Portuguese instructor said that Portuguese speakers can usually get by in Spanish speaking countries but for some reason it doesn't seem to work as well in the opposite direction. I noticed this in Chile, the locals say the Brazilians that come to visit speak "Portañol" their joke for a combination of Portuguese and Spanish. I noticed the Brazilians didn't have any problem communicating in Spain. You should learn a romance language as they have a similar structure, it can be fun.

@@dianawanderlust I can read fairly well but it is difficult to speak since my Teacher passed away and I haven't been able to find another yet so that I can converse again. Now that the restrictions here are lifted, I can start looking for a new one. I've got to reconnect a bunch of neurons in my brain and get the cobwebs cleaned out. LOL.
@@deansawich6250 sounds like the best plan to keep the Alzheimers away 😂😂 You can find online teachers at many places. italk is one of the apps where you can find language teachers

Ah yes... the Moorish occupation of the area covers about 800 years of history... that a lot of Spanish especially want wiped out. Quinta de Regaleira is fascinating and quite beautiful. Once again, thanks for taking us along your adventures. Cheers!

The "Reconquista" narration was shared equally by Portugal and the other peninsular christian kingdoms. Same arguments, same violence (also done by the muslim kingdoms, of course). A big part of the national identity is based on (and forged) by that period.
And Spain, especially Andalucía, has an outstanding patrimony worth the visit, worth the conservation and something to be very proud of!❤️
