I was 100% expecting LPL to say: "These are Hermex sliding padlocks... They can be opened with Hermex sliding padlocks" followed by him banging them together McNally style to open them.
Honestly, for once it's a redeemable situation. If the two factories compare notes, they can borrow each other's solution to their flaws. Only problem is that those are probably not the ONLY flaws.
These look as safe as the lock that came with my 6 year olds princess diary. I don't read the diary, I just wanted to see how good a kids tiny lock is. It can be opened with a hex key. So about the same as these ones here.
That was exactly my thinking, both factories should have the correct pantone colour for their card backs. Absolutely mad that they're such different shades of yellow
What's the problem with different shades/colors - it's different products! (One is 60 mm, the other is 75 mm, and they are made from different materials.) The big problem is that both locks have laughable flaws.
@@runeodin7237 Because real brands have very specific colours they associate with. I bought a lock once…it was in 4th grade when the school let us start riding are bikes to school. It was one of the barrel locks with a four digit code. Hey LPL would you ever consider releasing a book, a sort of pocket guide of (X) lock, type, layout, build, materials, blown up images of it disassembled a few common attacks it is susceptible to and your comments. Basically one of your videos on a page. Love the channel, and have learned alot from you. Merry Christmas.
I think the reason we hadn’t heard from you, LPL for a while, is perhaps you were locked out of your house? 😂. In all seriousness though, hope everything is ok, and I think I speak for everyone when I say we’re thrilled that you’re back. 😅
Can you throw locks that you like in a playlist or on your website? I get hesitating to endorse locks when no lock is perfect, but highlighting a few that make sense within their usecase and perform without issue would be more valuable than dunking on the many, many locks that do not. A "Hall of fame" playlist would go hard.
Anyone else reckon LPL is getting less subtle with his criticisms? Loving the savagery myself.
He's fed up😂
@@s.s.1810yes, gentle chiding has got nowhere let's see if more forthright criticism produces any results.
in 10 years this channel will fight Gordon Ramsey verbally and win
he probably knows that he is setting industry standards...so he shouldn't mince words
Oh I love his honesty. It's how everything should be criticized

In fact they are brothers who own each factory.
This bothers me...@@dragade101
A ploy by LPL himself to sell more tools.
Poor thief, will have to carry extra 30 grams of metal and spend extra 8 seconds of their precious time
Hoping that someday Fluke Instruments will make a lock so we can hear LPL say "Well, that WAS a fluke."
I don't get it. If it's a double entendre, what would be the "fluke" or accident?
@@jej3451it wasn't, you're reading too much into it
@@monomono9627 I think he's gotten back with Debbie Downer again. They said it wouldn't last...
So long as he says 'fluke' in his reviews, my 'fluke' drinking game continues and I get a taste.
That 75mm lock in this video's the right color to be a Fluke!
In the Spanish-to-English dictionary, Hermex is translated to Masterlock.
🤣
Thank you. This was my best belly laugh for the day 😂😂😂
🤣🤣 this made my day 😂
Really? Lol
😂😂😂
I was 100% expecting LPL to say:
"These are Hermex sliding padlocks... They can be opened with Hermex sliding padlocks"

Well, since there are locks that can be opened with a hammer, it should be possible to simply use another lock instead.
Honestly, for once it's a redeemable situation. If the two factories compare notes, they can borrow each other's solution to their flaws.
Only problem is that those are probably not the ONLY flaws.
I mean, he didn't even try to rake them... my gut feeling is there other low-skill attacks available t o them.
What tends to happen in that case is you get both flaws in both products.
And produce a lock with both
@@PlatypusVomit Exactly, they'd compare notes and both copy the other's cost-saving shortcuts that led to the flaws.
@@LoadstoneKnight More likely version two can be combed and bypassed. Maybe throw in easily bumped for good measure.
Hey LPL, hope you’re happily taking a break and having a great time with your family. Can’t wait to see your new videos!

So about the same as these ones here.
I remember those! you can also open them with the bottom part of a hair clip . I always lost the keys, so I had to open them
I think these are worse: You still need a key to get into the diary lock, even if it's not the one they meant.
@@teh-maxh The comb pick is as much of a key as a hex wrench or bent paperclip.
Hope the LPL gets back soon! Love these videos!
It would be so ironic and hilarious if LPL created a lock manufacturing company called 'Fluke.'
Master lock breaths a sigh of relief, "We are not the worst".
Have you not watched very much of this channel or something? 😀
Not today, anyway.
Master has a similar lock with the exact same flaw.
Guys i think the Master Lock ninjas have got to him💀
When the company doesn't care even to color match their prints, it's no wonder that they don't care about 2 century old security flaws.

"Obviously building secure products is not a priority". Savage and brutal, love it.
I liked how the 75mm one was actually harder to lock than to open.
“No excuse” thanks LPL for setting culpability onto the manufacturer and their parent company.
LPL is my favourite comedy channel 😂😂😂
Unbelievable and inexcusable flaws in these locks 🔐 once again 😞
We miss you LPL
No Valentines Day video.. is everything ok?
At least the yellow one could be used as a fidget toy. Insert tool, click and the lock mechanism springs all the way out.
Lock, and do it all again. 😂
I bet the other one has the same "Fidget" security grade.
Maybe I scratch the name of my locks to make sure the thief’s can’t google that thing on RUclips.
It levels up the security with at least one step.
The thief's what?
I would love to see an updated video on your recommendation for bicycle/ebike locks.
LPL, You R are a living "Lead John" and a key to my entertainment. For this I thank you.
Masterlock: Let's buy this company, their locks have a decent enough security level.

He's probably focusing on the Covert Instruments business side of things.

That's ridiculous. I hope these companies watch this.
In case you don't up load between now and then, Merry Christmas LPL! Your videos always make me smile
My man not only opened both locks twice in 2 minutes, he still had time to explain the flaws.

Thanks for making this video. I am from México and sell these locks 😂. It's funny to see you with them
So now you know you re screwing people
Are there going to be any new LPL videos, or has LockPickingLawyer joined the many who have chosen to retire their YT channels in 2024?
I mean, I know this is for information rather than comedy, but it was plain hilarious how easily both locks are opened.
It's been a long time since I have seen new LPL videos. Is he taking a vacation or illness?
Not only 2 Locks, 2 Moronic Flaws, also just 2 minutes

short video, we all know what that means :D
Two locks each opened twice in a total span of 35 seconds. Incredible lol
Could you show us your process of going through an unknown lock to find these flaws? I think that would make for a long yet interesting video
Great suggestion. LPL please do it
I'm just waiting for the video where he just looks at the locks, and they explode.

More than one month without uploading a video, hope LPL is ok. :/
Top of the season LPL and to the Misses cheers
I'm the history of LPL, has it ever been a fluke? I didn't think so.
When you combed the first lock and it just popped open, I couldn't help but laugh. This hilarious and embarrassing.
At least they state that the level of security is 5 out of 10 in both locks.

We have a new grade for lock security : "Moronic".

LPL unintentionaly raising the cases of stolen things in Mexico because of this video🤣😂
As far as Latin America goes... non destructive entry is not very popular
Just like revealing a scam does not benefit a scammer, showing a security flaw does not benefit a thief.
The second one took longer to relock than it took to "pick"...
Security Level 5. This means these locks will withstand non-destructive opening for five seconds. Max.
Yes but you need to open it a second time to ensure it's not a fluke.
One of these days he'll surely succeed, but he still hasn't found the fluke he's looking for.
