Used to think all those bands were the bees funkin knees, it all reminds me of this time I spent meeting and falling in love with this girl when I was 17 or 18. folk punk and it’s consequences have been a disaster for the human race. She died, and it’s nice to go back and listen to these pretty and simple songs off those comps and still have the music and all these little notions that reassure me about the things we’d planned to be and shot for, I feel like somehow she managed to live up to how punk we both wanted to be, and that makes me happy. There are all of these cozy memories that resurface when I revisit music I found on bandcamp back then. Her first time playing GTA, her first time having apple cider, the pictures we took together. Everything. Thanks for releasing new stuff. A few of these bands have always been the peak of cool in my book.
I had the iPod nano in 2006, and could barely afford to buy it as a 5th grader, but I managed to scrape my money from mowing lawns, and finally bought one. Took me FOREVER to figure out the cycling with the finger 😅 But I was blown away when I got it. I really wanted the video iPod, but it was simply too much, almost double the price. The iPod was later stolen by the kid who had a locker next to me, and I never found out until one of his friends told me a year later. Kicked his ass, which he found funny, but I was still mad.
