Could you make a video of unusual styles of wedding videos? From what I've seen they all seem pretty similar and it would be cool to see alternatives!
This is my last video before my wedding next Saturday (UK bride). I have been planning for over 2 years. Your videos have been so helpful, planning during the pandemic. I subscribe to the master plan and used all your tools and tips. Just wanted to say as my journey comes to an end, thank you so much for guiding me through, you are amazing ❤️

We decided to forego the videography and went with Photocircle instead. We put the QR code on the place cards so everyone at the wedding can upload their own photos and videos to our wedding album
Plans for our 16 person family only wedding: handing one of my brothers a Go Pro lol we’re two weeks out and this video makes me feel happy about our choice, thanks Jamie!!
I couldn’t believe how expensive videographers are. What I realized is that they offer a lot more than what I actually want. I just need someone to hold a camera for the procession, vows, first dance, and toasts
This is exactly what I want! And the raw footage only. Not only a 3-5 minute video.
In high school my boyfriend who did videography for my soccer games and he did like the school news ended up doing a wedding. A couple went to the faculty advisor for that stuff and asked if they had a student that would be able to do their wedding and borrow the school’s equipment. He got paid like 50 bucks and Idk about the editing or anything but there’s that anecdote about a budget wedding videographer.

I requested raw footage so I could edit my own video! Saving so much money from doing this. I only recommend if you’re good at editing

I recommend hiring a photographer/videographer as a package! I have such a great deal on bundling the two together. I do wish that more videographers in my area did more than just the 8-10 minutes highlight video. I may ask some of my close friends and/or family to video as much as possible to have b-roll footage of the day (waking up, getting ready, etc.). Additionally, if I cannot get a full video of my ceremony I may ask my videographer if it is okay to set up a camera to film it, just for a personal keepsake.

As a pro videographer, I'm all for offering the client just raw footage! It's not as much money, but it's much less time bypassing the editing. As you said, the client can then either come back to me at a later date when funds permit for editing, or do the editing themselves!

Thank you for this!!!!!!! I swear this is the forbidden question. Ideally i would love a 2 - 4 hour raw footage only package, or even just the ceremony and then supplement the rest with phone video, but most likely it will be all phone and tripod footage
I'm a journalist with a broadcast background. In college I majored in mass communication and had friends who would film weddings. I might reach out to my alma mater and see if there are students who are still doing that.
As a professional video editor i specifically want someone whos willing to give me the raw footage. I know if I dont edit it myself ill be cranky 😅
Hired a professional photographer for our destination elopement and planning on setting up a tripod with camera to capture the ceremony. I have a background, albeit dated, in video editing so I hope to edit the footage myself with some b-reel of the area. We'll see how it goes 🤷♀️. For our "happily ever after" party at a later date I may hire out for both bc the speeches and dance would be nice to have recorded. I hadn't thought of those until seeing this video!
I want as much photo and video at my wedding as humanly possible. Il be getting a package deal for about 3 grand, il be using cameras myself and will most likely hire my two nieces to take cool shots and interviews with guests just because I cant do it myself. I will be giving them my two personal smartphones to go crazy. They will be paid well also. Photo and vid are so important because I wnat to make my own personal movie after the wedding, I love making movies. I want to be old and look back on this one day.

How about pay a company to do a professionally live stream. It is way cheaper and you'll get raw footage of everything. As a wedding videographer our service is valuable but it's not for everyone and everyone's budget. I offer live stream services around $600 in southern cali, you should be able to get someone do the same thing around the same price.
do you recommend having the livestream and only editting from it? i understood that with a videographer he'll be able to capture from many angles.
The livestreams have options for multiple angles. The company should offer an edit on request as well. But if you are looking for videography DO NOT hire a content creator. There is no cheap alternative to videography. If its not in the budget just dont do it@@paridoesupcycling
Is there any difference in price for photography/videography for a small wedding vs a big wedding?
In case you were still looking for an answer, there's not a difference in price. Photography and videography fall under the vendor umbrella of being priced based on the actual packaging and not the guest count. In order to bring down the price, you have to either find one that's actually within your budget, or ask to take out things from the package that you feel you won't need (fewer hours if the amount of time plays a role in the price, no drone footage, only having one cameraman/videoman, etc). If you want to have professionals, I think that the best option is to utilize a company that does both photography and videography so that way you can bundle the two and limit the amount of vendors you'll have to talk to.
This may just be me, but I would not hire a photog/videog that wouldn't just give me the raw photos & video. I have the experience & software to clean it up & edit/compile it myself. I know most people don't so maybe that's why they are against it, but I am on a budget & am more than capable of handling it myself, but obviously I can't shoot my own wedding. Lol.

My photographer has a video package. We didn't add it to ours but are considering it now. As a photographer myself (product photography) I always felt iffy just giving clients RAW files. But at the end of the day, if they paid for my service/time, that's all that matters. I might ask the same of our photographer and possible videographer.
