this was super helpful, but you should try doing some POV camera angles, that'd be EXTRA Helpful lol
Ohh! Good idea
Casper's were the first trick I ever tried to learn back in the day when Aaron (now rad rat video) was one of the most prominent skate youtubers in 2008
OG
I made the cut!!!! (3:20 mark), I just fan-girled a little bit.
Great tips and the editing is on point!
Lucky 😂
You know,I really appreciate all of these trick tips. A lot of people might do some trick tips, but you make it a point so that you can further freestyle skateboarding. Thank you.
I been getting better at my caspers lately and this lowkey helped🙏🏼🤘🏼
Highkey that made my day
Good job
Yo mike, I just bought my first waltz complete board. Cant wait to ride it.
That's Awesome!!
That's BALLER ASS!!!!!!!
Got my board yesterday mike. Thanks man its freaken beautiful. I'm already landing caspers. Just learning to get to rail.
Thank you so much! I'm the exact target of this video (got them with both feet on the ground just 2 days ago) and this is so helpful!!!
You got it
Hey Mike its Chance, Just received my first board, its SOO much easier to do almost everything, including street tricks on the Champ Board. Love the Videos lately! Keep up the good work, Much Love from the freestyle community in Utah!
👍👍
You are criminally under subscribed you've been putting out great content for years and I just found you! Better late than never! cheers much love from Michigan
So glad I found your channel.
Best casper video ever. You are a legend my friend
Thank you for the lesson!
This trick is literally what made me fall in love with skateboarding when I used to play the video game back in the day and I even loved your history video about tricks and Rocky Mueller. lol
Found you in the braille channel I like that channel but I am into freestyle so super happy I found your channel it’s way more dedicated to freestyle skateboarding.
Love the new video format and editing, looks great. Thanks for the tips
When I was trying my caspers I was having a lot of time dismounting them this really helped
Those variations were sick!
Yessir
This video helped me so much. thanks! 😀👍
This is what i need 🙏
Thank you Mike! I'm struggling with the casper!
hell yea, I'm gonna learn these asap!
Great tutorial 👍🏻🔥
Yessir
ive been wrecking my shins bc idk how to get into casper position properly so thanks for the vid!
Just learning how to do caspers, this has been super freaking helpful.
Super helpful. Great teaching man
One day I'll get these. I can fingerflip out but can't get out the regular way. Thanks for the tips, I will give it a try next sesh!
Epic!!! Thanks Mike your videos rock!!!
Plus I just love mike
Nice Shoe Commercial
First of all, youre sick and I like your style and comfort on the board. Second of all here I am lugging a street board around dabbling in freestyle tricks. I need one of those sweet tiny boards so bad. Just a simple casper to casper seems daunting. If the tip of the board lands on my toe it game over.
There were a lot of things I did wrong. for one thing, I always thought my feet had to be symmetrical with the board. Like my entire front foot had to be tucked in perfectly & strictly in the middle, + my backfoot had to line up vertical with the tail. I think I had incorrect angles in general, like how much/where you lean with your body/shoulders, etc. but I think my main issue was relying on one foot. I focus on the scoop of the backfoot only. this is why I'm more likely to land the "fake casper" with both feet on the ground like a Tre but can't like a shuv. When I try a switch casper I don't even really use my backfoot at all and I think this is because when switch, my frontfoot = the same backfoot i rely on when regular. I'll probably end up rewatching this video multiple times. thanks
Informative video. Please do one on no-hands 50/50. This is a basic trick, but for some reason it continues to elude me.
Also, most importantly: what brand of pants are those?
Those kill my shins
Ok thanks👍🏼
👍👍
I thought the title said "why your capri sun sucks" so I clickbaited.myself but I respect your content even tho I'm not a sk8tr
I wouldn’t never post hate speech like that
Fresh mike
Now i just need to figure out how to practice these without bruising the top of my foot.
Funny I was actually practicing caspers earlier lol
Did you land it
@@JaceMcIntyre yeah I can land them but not consistently. I don't know how to drop into casper from railstand yet tho
I can flop to casper and impossible out maybe 2 out of 10 tries, but it really hurts the top of my feet on those fail attempts and is hard to get the balance right. Is the feet hurting a technique problem or is that normal and will go away when I get better at softly catching and balancing? I almost feel like I need puffier shoes or reinforced toes cuz my suede half cabs aren't cutting it
the X arms motion lmao crouching to get in the camera unintentional gangster stances or it's the natural swag or both.
Me: doesn't skate freestyle
Video: why your casper sucks
Me: hmm, I see
Already got these down, I can only do them fakie and switch
My Caspers are improving thanks to this video! I’m getting used to my front foot not touching the ground, but is it okay if my back heel touches the ground? Or should the goal be to get my entire back foot on the tail?
I'm goofy footed and use my front foot to scoop. I can do it fine but for a single kick I have to do a shuv or something to put it into position.
(Edit) I do railstands backwards too
You can also pop into casper.
One of my local spots 3:20 who is the skater in the clip?
is it ok to do this trick with a streetboard? or is it just better overall to buy a free style skateboard?
30k, YESSSSSSSSS
🙌🙌🙌
Do you have any tips for going casper to rail, or landing in rail in general because I also really want to learn a rail flip that goes back into rail and I'm having troubles?
Yeah! Our buddy Jacob has been working on those a lot. Besides riding freestyle wheels, I’d recommend playing with the position of your “top foot”, angling your toes inward. I can help more if I see a clip of your attempts
Mike Osterman Thank you that simple adjustment really helped because my foot would slip off to the side a lot when i was trying to land in rail
Hey man I can Casper but can u do a vid on a 360 Rodney Mullen type Casper?
Are nose caspers / anti-caspers a thing? I can do one while rolling and that momentum rolling forward helps to get a good flip back to the grip. Ive just never seen anyone else do it before.
Hey, that’s definitely a way to do it! I learned them Fakie and on the tail but I know a lot of people who Casper on their noses. From what I understand, an anti-Casper is actually an Ollie-1/2 impossible to nose Casper 💪 everything else (whether on the nose or tail) is just a Casper
@@mike_osterman1 good to know. I definitely can’t impossible into a nose Casper... yet haha. Thanks for the quick reply!
Feels so hard to balance with the front foot off of the ground, looks way easier.
My toes hurt a lot after trying caspers
Do your toes feel like they are on fire too?
How goos do these boards work in the park and pool?
Freestyle boards are usually a bit smaller than your average pool board. They’re also a bit tighter. Both tend to make them less useful in pools
I understand cause I won't be able to casper slide with both feet on the ground
I've been doing caspers longer than I've been doing Ollies.
Yaaaaaaaasssssss
Anyone else notice how fucked up mikes shins are?😂
what are those shoes you have
He made a whole video about them
sorry mike i am guilty of this. I can do them properly now but I’m still pretty bad lol
who’s trying to name drop the new balances?
Dude what happened your hand?
Sprained my wrist at work :\
@@mike_osterman1 dang that blows
Tattoos took an odd turn at some point it seems
He cheatin. His board hella flat 😂😂
Are you goofy or regular?
I am regular and Casper with my back foot pinning the tail down. Some people prefer using their front foot instead. That’s okay
