Before many of us realised Lise Fischer morphed into one to the greatest jazz singers ever her apparently spontanious power hiding a staggering technical skill morping with the musicians in Gran Baton to create some of the most astonishing music I've ever heard. This particular clip takes them into classical Indian territory as if they were born to it. Astonishing!
Love it! According to Lisa, JC Maillard is the musical director for the whole group, although there are freedoms here and there to improvise. Thierry Arpino lays the powerful beat on the drums backed up on bass by Adrian Carroll; the refrain is soft and warm like a healing calming hand ( ..it is all over now ), then there is the " crossfire harmonies " that I like to call it, the part where Lisa and JC sings counter parts, the harmonies goes " criss cross " to each other, over quarters and fifths..well ..not easy to do to make it vibrate rightly, then JC goes to the far east, oriental in his solo part. Anybody had hard times in life? Keith says when asked about his fav RS song lately...well...okey then JJ Flash!...it kind of says it all he says.
Why no commercial recordings? Are we going to be forced to listen to Lisa forever via these sonically inferior live videos? She deserves better. I don’t get it.

I'd say it's Middle Eastern, not Indian. But definitely amazing music!
