Thank you for 3 excellent, very helpful videos.. All I have to do is practice & do it.! As I have played a lot of tennis I must realise a pickleball paddle is a lot shorter.
This is the first about this topic that popped up in my feed. And so nice too, easy to understand. Will be working on my overheads now with this video.
First off great video. I'm always amazed that your subscriber count is not higher. The quality level of your content is great, more people should be taking advantage of it. Keep up the great work and you'll be at 50k subs before you know it.
Jordan You are great!!!! Thanks to your lessons I have been using a wall to practice the shots I need to use during a game. It really does help. Thanks again.
Jordan: would you recommend this approach instead of chasing down a lob over your head? Open and shuffling back to retrieve?? In your opinion, is it the same thing? Also-do you cover this and lobs in Max Attack? I’m going over the videos but haven’t seen one on this topic. TY
Excellent Video, I have watched so many people back peddle and fall over their feet fall down, and get hurt, if you cannot get to the ball let it go and play another point. I have been using the left arm for me as you have shown and it does improve your accuracy! Well done as usual!
For overhead smashes that are right at the kitchen instead of the transition zone, do you also contact around 11 o'clock or more closed at like 10 or 1030?
Great drill and video. Only suggestion I have is to put tape across the wall where the net would be. One challenge when in the mid-court is hitting it too low and into the net. It's a visual aid for being sure to clear the net.
Love all these videos, but if you slow it down and play the hit you're showing us in slow motion we can actually see the position of your paddle and the way you actually hit the ball
I liked your videos in general. But for this, what people fail the most is the part how the racket should hit the ball so that it won’t go off court, that you didn’t mention. Wished you had that in the video.
As a former nationally rank tennis play(quite a while ago). You do NOT want off hand pointing to the ball. In pickleball, how do you hit high back volley? The opposite of the over head SMASH! All your videos are great. Thanks.
I humbly disagree. Also a former tennis player I used this on my serves and smashes. I have completely forgot about doing this in PB and will certainly add this to my game.
@Briones Pickleball My tennis coach called it the "trophy pose". Nice video, your footwork is so solid. My two common errors are taking my eyes off the ball to see where opponents are and hitting deep. My cure has been focus on watching ball before, during contact and especially extenuating my pronation. I am also surprised you don't talk about using crossover footwork. I heard this is quicker way to move to the ball, not sure if you would agree. Seems like drop step and getting closed to the net is your focus?
You really are one of my 2 favorite instructional PickleBall RUclipsrs. Thank you as always for your expert thorough instruction!
Thanks Jack !
This is the best O/H smash video I have seen. Thank you
Thanks!

Great video, thanks.
Glad you liked it!
I think you just fixed the most frustrating problem I have with pickleball. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
Np!

Great!!
Always great stuff.
Thanks David !
So many smashes or overheads end up in the net. Thanks for the hints.
You’re welcome !
Super helpful!
Thanks !
We learned to smash balls in pickleball class yesterday. Will try this on my wall tomorrow. Thank you. Dinking pretty good now.
Awesome !
thank you for your coaching! You are the BEST👍🏻
Thanks ha !
Excellent wall drill-Thanks!!!!!!
Thanks Jay !
Great video Jordan, thanks as always!

Also meant to ask should the paddle be behind the head or more to the side of the head in the closed stance position when you're tracking the ball?
It should be right near you’re right ear
Hi Jordan, do you ever do out of state teaching clinics? It would be fun to attend.
We may! Until then, check out

I really like your instructions. Thank you!

@BrionesPickleball These are awesome! Any chance you will do more wall drill videos? Add 4-6 to the series? It's been a year 😉
Great idea

Max attack is solely on attacking from the NVZ line. You should always try to hit an overhead first, and if you can’t reach it, run it down
Great video! Thank you Jordan!
Thanks!!
@@BrionesPickleball where's the link for part 1 & 2 of your wall drill series?
Sorry, links are now in the description!
@@BrionesPickleball yeah I've seen it now. Thanks so much!

You will adjust the point of contact by your position on the court, yes
Thanks Jordan. Was looking for slowmo pronation. Not a factor for you?
Not in this video. I will for sure go in depth in a future video. It is very important.
Wow I never thought to do this on a wall before.
😎👍🏻
Great video! I’m working on waiting until 1:00. 😂

There is one look again….
If there are badminton player out there, you can use your badminton smash or jump smash. It works for me, especially on lob.
👍🏻👍🏻
Woohoo! The fencing on the other side of Court 7 is going up!
😎

Funny, at 2:24, your use of the clock. Here, north of the border, your “11” is our “1”, and vis versa. Must be a metric system thing. ;-)
Wow, didn’t know that!
@@BrionesPickleball Oops. Missed your subtle “from my point of view”. Great video, as always Jordan.
👍👍👍

All your videos are great. Thanks.
As a former tennis player that watches lots of professional pickleball and professional ATP players play, lots of them “point” towards the ball. Lol.
Backhand smash is totally different.
This ain't tennis!!! Duh. Spot the ball with your off hand keeps you from the swatting at flies form. LOL 😆
I humbly disagree. Also a former tennis player I used this on my serves and smashes. I have completely forgot about doing this in PB and will certainly add this to my game.

Great video, as always. But can you please try not to say "ok" at the end of every sentence? It's really distracting.
Ok. Thanks
😁
