I got three 200w panels that have grommets. With my bluetti power station. I love it so much. I live in middle of nowhere Nebraska power outages happen often everyone has solar, wind, or gas generators here.
Its 4-20-21 I use 170/180/180 BVRouge and Renogy 100 watt input to ac200p. About 650 watts under average 300-500 load. In four hours its at 100% charge. I ran today dishwasher two hours at 250/950 w load with all inputs , used eb240 to brick fed in 450+ watts total input was Almost 1100 watts using 1350 output to house. Eb240 used 3 170's and a renogy 100w input. Yes. Whole house running off the ac200 p. No air conditioning yet needed.
Another great great video Tom. I had asked Bluetti 2 times about using Lifepo4 to charge the AC200 and they said NO and now I know why thanks to you. I'm pretty sure it will work, it just don't know when to stop so it might ruin your Lifepo4 battery. Hoping on your follow up video that you will test out the 12v cigarette charging. I think a lot of users who doesn't have solar in their van will use this method to charge the AC200.
You hit 50K! Congratulations! The next 50 will come faster! I've been watching since before you left L.A. I knew you could do it! Give Odin extra scritches!
Thanks for reviewing the accessories and going through how they all connect up. Were you able to test the output from the Bluetti SP120 panels, or have the clouds been misbehaving? Also, it would be nice if Bluetti sold the DC-to-XT90 separately, or included it as a stretch goal.
@@HOBOTECH Ah yes, I just thought from your comments regarding the conditions (partly cloudy) that perhaps you weren't getting the output you thought you should. Do the nylon hangers seem reasonably strong for the 6lb weight of the panels? And is the zipped up pouch for the cable (on the back of the panels) reasonably dirt and water resistant or waterproof? If left in the rain, do you think the "fabric" will dry out quickly, or be a soppy mess for hours? I like that these panels have long (3m) leads. Most portable panels seem to only have a few inches.
@@nfdsouza They would certainly do better on a perfect day but how often does that happen? The hangers will hold just fine just not sure with weather how long. The fact is has no USB or adapters makes it more water resistant than most. I believe it will work in the rain just fine as long as it is not left on bare dirt.
Can I use two different wattage panels to charge my River Pro? Or, a general question, can I do this at all with any battery pack? I have the Ecoflow 160 watt panel and I want to buy another cheaper, lower wattage, like 100 or 120 watt, panel to mess around with. I want to collect solar panels as I can afford them, one a month or so.
The initial order comes with one 400W AC charger and the solar charging MC4 cables. If you want a second 400W AC charger to charge from AC at 800W total, you have to buy that separately. As far as we know, only the second separately purchased AC charger comes with the DC-to-XT90 adapter.
Thanks for the update! Very glad I purchased. Great to get a peak at the panels. Still debating the trolley, but this got me leaning more toward it than before. My only concern is how this trolley will do "off-road". Would it be better to buy one with bigger wheels? I'll have to think more about my use cases.
Question. Could something like the AC200 be wired on a “generator switch” and power a panel box? It can’t run the whole house. But, I’m wondering about my boiler or lights perhaps??
Can you tell me which Anderson plug I have to get to connect stuff to the 30 amp (aviation to xt60/xt60 to Anderson) outlet because there seem to be a lot of different ones on the market.. Thanks in advance!
What if you used the alligator clips on a 48 volt lithium battery? Or even you used the charge enhancer and plugged it into a b230 battery that was connected to a ac200 max. Just wondering if it would work. I just bought a ac200max+ 1 b230 battery and trying to figure out if it's worth spending the extra money. For the alligator clip and the charge enhancer.
Do you know of an adapter that can convert the Jackery panels to MC4? Otherwise I was planning on making a couple so I can connect them in series to the AC200.
WHY can't I find any specs on what "aviation plug" these use for CHARGING from the PV (I've seen SA201 on bluetti site, but those aren't really the size for the PV inputs or searchable that I can find). I want to make my OWN connector to plug into the PV input for this...anyone? "Aviation Plug" is VERY generic and there are tons of different ones. I see things like SP21 and SP13 plugs that spec specific SIZE that will fit this...Anyone? What is the size of the plug at 3:20 please???
Need advice : Bought the Max 200 and one battery B230. 4 panels total 800watts. On weeks of rainy days, 800 watts is not enough for the refrigerator as I'm completely off grid. Is it possible to use solar panels directly to the B230? While the 800 watts directly to the Max unit?
Great video, all your videos are extremely informative. Thank you. On this Blueitti, is there a way to attach an external battery for it to draw power from like the Battle born lithium ion battery or even two in series 6 volt deep cycle trailer batteries?
Need to get to the negative and positive DC output power cable ends in order to run a 12 volt DC 2.5mp / or 6 amp bilge pump ducted fan. What do you suggest? I could take a cigarette cable insert and strip the ends off (I suppose). What I then intend to do is connect the ends to a rheostat which will dial up or down the amperage so I can control the CFM of the fan (its speed). I already have a way to do this (in a test manner) using an 110VAC to 12VDC converter (and I suppose I can do the same thing using the AC outlets on the BLUETTI but it is just one more piece of equipment to get to the DC voltage... when it already exists there in multiple choices on the AC200P. I'll be watching for a response... Is there an accessory that BLUETTI offers???
Sorry, I hit the wrong button by mistake. Since I cannot charge on 120v from the Jackery 500 to the trailer via the trailer's 30a cord will a cord with a male 12v cigarette adapter on EACH end allow the trailer's 12v system to accept a charge from the Jackery's 12v female output and introduce it into the trailer through the trailer's already installed female 12v cigarette receptacle? Whew! I'm hoping to be able to feed 12volts into the overall 12v onboard system to run the refrigerator on propane for several days. Can this make the 12v supply last longer or am I all wet? And do you know a source for such a cord?
I may have missed it in the video...How many watts are required to get the AC200 to solar charge? I am trying to select panels for mine. I am looking at two 24 volt 300 watt panels from Renogy. Thoughts?
Great video! Quick question .... does the AC200 come with “Female” 12V / 25A Aviation Plug to connect the solar panels? Looks like they are only selling the “Male/Output” cable on Indiegogo which I’m getting to connect to my fuseblock (as suggested).
Question.. if you plug in something that is more power or watts than what is specified in any of the outlets in the jackery 500 does it shut off or hurt it or both?

Hi, pardon me if i missed this part. But, in confused how many solar panel i needed in order to charge the unit. On indiegogo there's three bundles to choose from? TIA
so with the bluetti ac200max instead of buying a spare battery for $1400 could i just buy a 12v 300amp lithium battery like ampertime or chins for $1000 and charge the bluetti with that?
I tried to connect the double brick and the one connected to the solar stays green and isn’t charging. What all am I supposed to set on the panel besides pv?
My blue Eddie will be 40’ + from solar panels in series. I looked on your site in blue area and don’t see extended cable. Can you recommend? Given that length what size cable do you recommend? Thank you so much for what you do to help us survive in trouble times.
Nice video. Ok, let's say you have two Renogy 100 watt suitcases with MC4 connection. Each suitcase is a 50 watt panel I assume is wired in parallel together as the junction boxes on each suitcase pair are linked via a cable. So, you take the suitcase MC4 cables and connect a positive to a negative from the other panel and then take the two to the AC200 adapter? Is this possible with the Renogy panels- to series setup? It looks as if they will give 36 volts that way.
I subd a week ago and am really loving the vids. Wanted to ask about the Bluetti solar panel performance. I had some Goal zero nomad 100s that went straight to 0w when a cloud came over and they weren't sealed from light rain etc. Are the bluetti panels better? I have more expensive overland solar and safiery panels that put out power no matter what condition almost.
Not a fan of GZ really. Their stuff is overpriced for the performance. The Bluetti panels are simple yet effective with a high Voc and use top grade cells.
Hey Tom. Hope you're doing ok. Something seemed just the teensiest bit off today. Good thing Thor was there to help out. Good health and happiness to you and Heidi and the cats; hugs and kissies for Odin and Thor. ODIN!!!!
I’m just curious if it’s ok to leave the AC200 out in the AZ Summer sun while recharging via Solar panel? Or is there some sort of PV charging extension cord you can use to keep the unit indoors and hooked up to solar panels outside?
@@HOBOTECH I am going to try and run a 1/2 horse power motor on a cement mixer. I think for that the AC200 would probably be the better option. Thoughts? motor specs are 120 V~, 60 Hz, AC only, 5.3 Amps.
Hello, I purchased the AC 200 and I was wondering what cables were included. Will I need to purchase both Aviation plug to XT60 XT60 to mc4 cable separately? I also purchased 2 of the last baudens 100w foldable on Amazon. Only 2 because you proved 3 can't be connected in series. I have learned so much from you. Thank you.
If I only plan to charge when driving, would it make sense to step up my 12v battery voltage to 24v and set the profile solar? If so how many watts will it pull if my step up device is capable of 480Watts.
AC200’s screen is constantly on, even when the AC and DC outputs are off but the unit is left on. Is there a way to switch off the screen on a timer and wake it up when it’s required? Also, if the unit is off, it doesn’t charge unless it is turned on. Other models wake up and charge even if the unit was off, as soon as a charge is provided, is there a way to change that setting?
HOBOTECH thanks, haven’t tested solar yet. It didn’t auto start while using car charging. Any suggestions for switching off the screen but keeping the unit on?
According to the Indiegogo website, the 120W solar panel has an MPPT controller built in. Since the AC200 has an internal MPPT controller won’t the two controllers conflict? I was under the impression you need to use a solar panel without a MPPT controller built in. Thank you.
Hello Hobotech, only have space for one panel on my van roof. PLEASE, pretty please, tell me, can I use this Newpowa 200W Monocrystalline 200 Watt 12V Solar Panel High Efficiency Mono Module RV Marine Boat Off Grid
QUESTION: you had mentioned in this video and others that you need 35v Minimum input from solar according to bluetti, and you tested it as needing a minimum of 32v in order for the Ac200 to work , yet when you hooked up the Bluetti 120 panels together in series, it was under 32 can you elaborate on this ? Thanks.
Do you have a couple of suggestions to charge a Jackery 500 close to its maximum capacity from a solar panel other than the jackery panels that isn't as expensive ?

@@HOBOTECH ah okay so it's the new 300 ooops so 300 with a 300 to small for me 500 are just right for me for me to afford a 1000 is la la land to me,mabye I'll win the lottery well thank you.
Will the AC200 charger brick work on the Maxoak Bluetti EB150 ?
Hi, pardon me if i missed this part. But, in confused how many solar panel i needed in order to charge the unit. On indiegogo there's three bundles to choose from? TIA
You need at least two panels to charge it.
@@HOBOTECH thanks you sir! You are very helpful.
Which solar panels do you recommend for the AC200P???
so with the bluetti ac200max instead of buying a spare battery for $1400 could i just buy a 12v 300amp lithium battery like ampertime or chins for $1000 and charge the bluetti with that?
I tried to connect the double brick and the one connected to the solar stays green and isn’t charging. What all am I supposed to set on the panel besides pv?
My blue Eddie will be 40’ + from solar panels in series. I looked on your site in blue area and don’t see extended cable. Can you recommend? Given that length what size cable do you recommend? Thank you so much for what you do to help us survive in trouble times.
You want multiple 20' 10AWG Windynation cables hobotech.tv/amazon/#Solar-Adapters
Yes. It's basically a series-parallel connection with two suitcase kits. I have less expensive kits on hobotech.tv/amazon .
ODIN!!!!
We're stressed out about the move and trying to do videos while all this is going on ain't easy.
I’m just curious if it’s ok to leave the AC200 out in the AZ Summer sun while recharging via Solar panel? Or is there some sort of PV charging extension cord you can use to keep the unit indoors and hooked up to solar panels outside?
Was wondering the same!
You can get a MC4 extension cable from hobotech.tv/amazon/#Solar-Adapters
So a van parked in the summer heat, is a bad place for this unit? That’s bad since I am in the market for a power unit for a live in camper van.
Between this and the EB240, which is the better system? I am looking to power off grid camping and or a small off grid cabin.
Depends on your needs. The EB240 has a larger battery but the AC200 has the larger inverter. 500w solar vs 700w solar.
Will I need to purchase both Aviation plug to XT60
XT60 to mc4 cable separately?
I also purchased 2 of the last baudens 100w foldable on Amazon. Only 2 because you proved 3 can't be connected in series. I have learned so much from you.
Thank you.
It comes with the basic adapters like solar MC4, 12v car, and an AC charger. The battery clamps, 25A output cables, and 2nd AC charger are optional.
Tom have you received any updates regarding your recommendations for fast charging and the 12V inefficiency?
Yes, my recommendations will be implemented in their next model.
I ordered a couple of the bluetti ac200 am I going to have to order an ac charger and cables as an extra I assumed it came with those accesorys thanks
It comes with one AC charger. The 2nd is optional.
Hey Prof. Hobotech. Question Can you series two of the 200 watt solar panels together for a total of 400 watt for the 1500WH Bluetti power station?
Solar newbie here. What is the least expensive panel setup I can get for my AC200? Love your reviews
Question : can my Jackery 240 - 60w Solar panels power a J500? Or, do I need to buy more solar panels?
Can you buy that XT90 to 8mm adapter from anywhere but Bluetti?
Not that I know of.
Is there a way to protect this from an EMP blast?
Stick it in a Faraday cage such as an insulated and grounded metal garbage can.
If I only plan to charge when driving, would it make sense to step up my 12v battery voltage to 24v and set the profile solar? If so how many watts will it pull if my step up device is capable of 480Watts.
At 24v you can input 200w max. At 35v or more you can input 700w.
It auto starts when charging from solar.
Thank you.
Bluetti solar panels don't have controllers.
when using a DC power supply to feed the "solar input", what voltage is optimal?
As close to 150v as you can get.
Are these accessories specific to the AC200 or can some of them be used with the AC200P?
Count Von Count!!! Great impression! You are Multi talented!
Hello Hobotech, only have space for one panel on my van roof. PLEASE, pretty please, tell me, can I use this
Newpowa 200W Monocrystalline 200 Watt 12V Solar Panel High Efficiency Mono Module RV Marine Boat Off Grid
Thanks.
Add the Voc it is not under 32v.
@@HOBOTECH Thanks for the reply. I really learn a lot from watching your videos. Thank you

@@HOBOTECH I’m holding out for the Bluetti AC200Max Thinking it May has less bugs than the ac200p. Your Thoughts ?? Thx.
Do you have a couple of suggestions to charge a Jackery 500 close to its maximum capacity from a solar panel other than the jackery panels that isn't as expensive ?

Dr hobo getting jiggie with it. love it and the video. Keep em going.
Excellent review as always, Hobotech Processor Man! We wonder have you has a Pro and Con of using Power Generator in a DIY Van of all in one unit vs system consists of batteries/charge controller/converter ....?
Tom. Great info. I am looking to get another solar generator. Between this and the Jackery, do you have a preference? Is Jackery going to have another promo? Thanks, Count Tom.
