I agree, like the power armor looks and functions perfect. I like the additions they made to it like the face plate that can open. There are moments in combat where it shows how tanky they are, but why do they use a crane to get off a vertiberd, theres no "pain-train" moment. And the jetpack while better than 4's seems light and like it was plastic.

I'd be in fuckin hysterics if that happened lmao but I think realistically I don't think there'd be enough shock absorption in the power armor to keep their legs from taking damage on impact.
Unnecessary drops from high up can potentially cause uneeded wear and tear to the suit's hydrolics in the legs. Not to mention potential injury in a situation that wouldn't require you to exit quickly from a high place. Idk just my two cents for that bit, like if the knight and pilot are in a non combat environment, the crane drop is probably more preferable than jumping out the vertibird plus the scribe that has to accompany the knight can't jump safely from that height.

Taking this as completely canon and always has been canon, this implies the Sole Survivor and the Vault Dwellers of 76 were too stupid to realize there was a built in jetpack on at least the T-60, just kept welding one to the back.
Yeah. I think it's a Brotherhood feature, and the reason it's not in 4 is because maybe the east coast didn't have the time or resources to developing a full iron man-style build, while the West Coast chapter did.
You gotta remember, the east Coast chapter is a lot less focused on hoarding tech like the West Coast is, instead fighting super mutants in the Capital Wasteland and only getting to the Commonwealth a few days into 4's story.

The Custom build power armor is more not suitable for fallout situation if i say it for myself: I think the power armor Maker had a nostalgic of having a hero like iron man but they didnt realize this is fallout were talking here... Even Fallout Nuka break still manage to pull Custom power armor better...

While jetpack power armor is definitely a thing in lore they're usually mounted to the back, but back jetpacks have been proven IRL to be impractical. Real experimental jetpacks have the thrusters on the arms like that. We do have a moment where the thrusters shove a cart and other stuff away while he's fighting but it doesn't seem like enough thrust to lift the armor. Totally handwaving any fuel it would require as in game jetpacks seem to be able to run off the armor's fusion core despite visibly being a chemical thruster. The show has a couple issues but is broadly far better than I expected it to be

I mean, the jetpack is good but only good going up. Its more of a jumppack. While that allow more aeral mobility then the the jetpack. While you cant use your gun you can move faster. Which in the right hands is better than running on foot.
It's funny seeing an interaction between a knight and a scribe in FO4 (where they treat eachother like actual people and comrades) and a knight and a scribe in the show (where scribes are treated as canon fodder by the knights).
This basically Nerfs power armor with no attachments. Because you can’t fire your gun AND use your arm rockets to fly at the same time. Unlike a Jetpack. Though nothing seems to suggest that Jetpack attachments don’t exist at all for special units.
Technically the jetpacks taking stamina is a gameplay choice. If you could jetpack forever, you'd get a massive advantage in pretty much every situation. Flight with a jetpack would have probably looked similar to the Colossus from Anthem if the engine could handle it and they didn't want keep gameplay 'balanced'.
The suits already looked pretty awkward and cumbersome. Adding s huge weight to the back would probably have made it even worse so I get why they changed it to keep the armour smaller.

I've personally always thought it was stupid how they can drop from any height as of Fallout 4 and 76. I prefer the idea of them having thrusters. Obviously dude was new to piloting the suit and put more bluntly SUCKS at using it, and really, if we look at his performance in the suit combat wise...he kind of a noob... Here's hoping he gets Power Armor Training soon LOL
He is a squire, after all. Also, I always felt like the no fall damage thing in 4 and 76 was more of a gameplay handwave to make the player feel cool, but it would have been cooler if you had to modify the legs to get that effect instead of it being default.

Maximus stands up the armor at least once unaided when he first wears it even though it happens off screen, later we see him able to drag it on a chain and get it upright again though he's able to pull the chain through a metal loop for a makeshift pulley. Still, no way he could have done it with 10 tons. My guess is half a ton or maybe three quarters without a pilot. Still, the jetpack was a bit silly. Being on the arms is fine but it needs to be visibly putting out a lot more thrust I think.
The series is fantastic, but I understand the need to feel special and different from everyone else with your opinion. I am sure The Beatles are overrated and The Big Lebowski isn't that great a movie, too.

Alterantively, the jetpack could have been a custom upgrade that the BoS was experimenting with that hadn't been implemented in the T60s originally.
