I have watched that clip back soo many times haha. We have known the steering has been all over the place for a while. From our observations, the issue is the stock box having a bunch of play. The 39's manipulate this play and make the steering all over the place. This is why we have to saw at the wheel so much when we are driving. The ultimate solution is to do a new box, pump, and ram, which should be coming in the near future!
Awesome job on the truck guys! I think its awesome your mom and dad has been right there helping and supporting you guys! This build is going to be the one you guys are going to be able to tell your kids and grand kids. You guys are definitely blessed to have parents that are involved in the same interests! You can completely tell that your dad is proud of you boys even if he doesn't say it much (couldnt tell you if he does or doesn't) but you can definitely tell he is! These family videos are awesome! It's the true definition of this spot/hobby. Again awesome job guys!
Harrison _ the original reason was because of clearance issues with the stock master cylinder and the ac/heat stuff. But everything’s snowballed haha. Realistically these front ends work good with just a coilover though. If I redid it with an equal length setup I’d run a coilover and a bypass though
Awesome video man. I've been watching your build for a while and the end product is amazing! Out of curiosity what is the metallic chatter noise you can here on the inside POV clips? I hear that in numerous trucks and have never had the chance to ride in a LT truck.
biggwigg338 the noise is coming from the check valves opening and closing in the adjusters on the rear bypass. It’s transfers up through the cage work and into the cab 👍🏼
Sick guys! You're so lucky you have a spot just down the road to go mob at. Spots are few and far between here in Texas unfortunately. When the truck was going through the bumps, does it have some bump steer bugs to work out or is that just how beams handle? Just wondering. Keep the content coming fellas!
the truck definitely has bump steer. It lessened with the changed to the shocks up front but it is still bad, which is why you see me sawing at the wheel in the gopro clips. Interestingly, the bump steer is not from the steering geometry, we checked this in one of the last videos after noticing the issue. We believe the issue is the box and the big tires/force from bumps is taking advantage of the play in the box and throwing the steering all over the place. This is one of the next things that the truck will need!
I feel weightless on those jumps! I saw a ttb under that explorer? Didn't know they could travel that much I'm excited wanted to do a prerunner build on my 4runner but wanted to keep 4x4. Any link to his build?
Good times in the air. Awesome to go driving with other trucks that will keep up, fly high and land. Well done on the builds, have fun
That jumps butter with that truck. Sicc
Play 3:38 in slow motion, there is some serious flex in the steering link..
