Bravo! I really enjoyed your performance. The Partitas # 2 and #6 were on one of my first harpsichord recordings back in the late 1960s. They were almost too much for my ears back then. Now, after 60 years I delight in their beauty and complexity. That Capriccio! Wow! Thank you!
As in so many performances, the Capriccio sounds best at RUclips playback speed 0.75. No need to "race", like Glenn Gould, in playing this. Stately and majestic works best!
this piece has been the cliche piano piece in popular culture, in many ways heard akin to the romantic Sturm und Drang - easily mistakable to Beethoven. this made me dislike the sinfonia really, because it always felt too moody, too emotional and narcissistic in the Nietzschian sense. but obviously this on a harpsichord gives us a more realistic perspective, I think it's just less serious, less personal, and suddenly it isn't a romantic piece anymore, although it still does contain that feeling... I really don't know, I'm a mere bystander, not a professional.
Yes it’s an unfortunate fate that popular pieces often suffer to be misunderstood. One thing that is probably certain is that this piece made a profound impression on Beethoven.

Bravo Sir. Another gem from Bach's formidable 'Six-Packs'...played with mastery and sensitivity...
Thank you so much for the kind compliment! I like ‘six-packs’… must remember that one!
This is my most favorite Bach's Partita among BWV 825-830.
Thank you so much for posting.
You’re very welcome!
Very nice. And the temperament works too.
Magnificent as always David.

@@davidlouie Why does Bach have different names for each of the opening pieces in each suite
👏👏👏
The second part of that Capriccio always gets me, absolutely ridiculous skills from Bach, you play it extra-ordinarily.
Haha, you’re right that part is insane, thanks so much!
