    In the video we said we'd leave links to the L'or and Starbucks compatible Nespresso pods in the description. Here are the links...

    We look at some common problems and complaints associated with the machine to see if we can test and demonstrate them, especially with the milk frother.
    In the video we make a latte macchiato, cappuccino, flat white and latte with the machine. We also show you the hot milk and frothed milk settings. There are 3 different coffee settings available on the machine. These are a lungo, espresso and ristretto coffee setting.
    We hope you enjoy our review of the Nespresso Gran Lattissima original coffee machine. We've tried to include more information than other coffee machine reviews on RUclips, to help you make the right choice for you.

    I own and LOVE this machine! You don’t actually need to clean the frother after every single use if you make the drinks in a row, just make sure you clean it before putting it away in the fridge! Also all the frother components are dishwasher safe and the first recommendation from Nespresso is to actually put them in the dishwasher and only resort to soap and water if a dishwasher isn’t available 🥰

      Glad you liked it. Yeah I thought flat whites are traditionally double espresso too but then I guess Nespresso might feel people might forget to change the pod in between pouring the shots. May be worth trying to reset the milk size to leave room for a second manually poured shot of espresso after.

    • @A2BProductions
      @A2BProductions  3 года назад +1

      Yeah that is one downside to the lattissima range I'm afraid, they tend to spit a bit of water out while frothing, which waters the coffee down a bit. We've got a few lattissima reviews on the channel, so may be worth watching the drinks being made on those to see if the frother behaves like yours, or if yours may have a fault. If it is a fault then you could give Nespresso a call and see what they say.

    I am looking for a new nespresso machine because my nespresso expert & milk is broke, i am thinking about the citiz and the gran latissima , just out of curiousity… does the coffee out of both machine’s taste the same ? And witch one do you recomment?

    • @A2BProductions
      @A2BProductions  2 года назад +2

      Hi 👋 I’d say the actual coffee will taste pretty much the same out of those machines but I personally find the lattissima milk froth too airy, which tends to alter the taste of milk based coffees for me. So I quite like the setup of a Citiz and Aeroccino 4 myself but if a Creatista machine is in budget then I’d go for that. Hope this helps.

    Excellent stuff - as a Northerner living down South, the best bit (apart from the thorough and detailed review!) was the Northern accent. Music to my ears :) Thank you!
    One thing I thought I would point out (based on my research), is that the Lattissima machines actually steam the milk whereas the other standalone units just heat and froth the milk. I find the steaming releases more of the natural sugars in the milk - no need for any sugar on top.

    • @A2BProductions
      @A2BProductions  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for that, glad you liked it and had no problems understanding the accent 😂 That's interesting, will look that up. We mostly use the Creatista now and love the steam wand on that. Interestingly I don't have sugar in my coffee now either, wonder if that's the reason 🤔

    I am trying to decide which Machine to buy. Never had a Nespresso before. I am between the Essenza Mini, Citiz and Gran Lattissima. I only tend to make one or two coffees a day and then occasionally on a weekend if family visit I make several. We make mostly lattes but also Americano & occasional flat white for family. I already have a milk frother at home. Which would you recommend?

    • @A2BProductions
      @A2BProductions  4 года назад

      Yeah I can understand why it might be difficult to decide. The Lattissima definitely covers you for more options and you're not constantly washing your frother out when family come round. Obviously they're a lot more expensive though. At a couple of coffees a day the mini would be fine really, especially if you tend to make just espresso for your latte. I like the Citiz as it has the bigger water tank but bar that and the fact you can't fit a Nespresso travel mug in it, it really isn't much better than the mini from what I've seen using them. Not sure if you're in the UK but the creatista plus and creatista pro have been added to the half price no contract subscription offer tonight. Heard good things about those, have ordered the plus actually to review on here. We also have a video comparing the essenza mini, pixie and Citiz in case that helps.

    Great review, but still coming from a piston machine with steam frother, I can’t look at this kind of “cappuccinos” the milk is like a thick layer on top, no where near how a cappuccino supposed to be. Think I am going for a creatista, because of that.

    • @A2BProductions
      @A2BProductions  3 года назад +1

      Yeah this machine is for original shaped capsules only (espresso and lungo) You can use lungo capsules in some milk recipes if you like the taste, but I'd say they're generally supposed to be made as a black coffee. They tend to bring out the more bitter flavours in the coffee, as the extraction process is longer and the coffee blend is usually specially selected to suit this type of extraction. Think the weight of coffee in the lungo pods is the same as espresso, but the grind size may be different too. Hope this helps.

    • @A2BProductions

      Hi there. A cappuccino in generally one or two shots of espresso topped with frothed milk. The Nespresso capsules let you know on the box whether they are supposed to be poured as an espresso, ristretto (usually the higher intensity pods can also be poured as a ristretto) or as a lungo. On this machine the cup size is set when it arrives but you can change it to pour more/less frothed milk or more/less coffee. Here's a vid from Nespresso on how to do that - ruclips.net/video/FfXiidmkICE/видео.html
      You could also just press the coffee button you want ristretto/espresso/lungo and then hold the hot foam button until the desired amount of froth has poured out.

      I have heard of people having problems with the frothers. We've reviewed quite a few machines on the channel now and the main problem with the Lattissimas is that they seem to mix too much water with the milk when frothing. We haven't had a fault with any of our Lattissimas yet, probably because they are not our main day to day machines, though.

    If anyone in comments is bothered by this stuff you get much better foam on a creatista machine and it’s easier to use and clean than this. If you care about latte art or wet vs dry cappuccinos the creatista is a better buy. I mean technically this isn’t making proper drinks, a proper Capp should have espresso shot in cup first to preserve crema. I’m no latte artist but I can make way nicer looking drinks than this. Also more versatile as I can choose exact milk, foam and coffee ratios on the creatista.

    • @A2BProductions
      @A2BProductions  4 года назад

      The more machines I try out the more I think I get where you're coming from with the Creatista machines. A subscriber mentioned the plus is available at John Lewis for £300 so may have to do a fire sale of some of my other machines to pay for it 😅 May be a little while yet but really do want to try them as looks like you just quickly wash out the jug (no whisk or spring?) and give the steam wand a wipe and you're done. I like the wetter froth from the Barista Maker too (think that's what you're on about by wet froth) so would be great to try the Creatista if it creates that quicker and with even less cleaning.

    • @zappybazinga8124
      @zappybazinga8124 4 года назад +1

      A2B Productions Yeah the only pain with the creatista is emptying out the drip tray - milk wand self purges into it every time unless you have a jug for it. The drip tray can be left for several drinks it just is a little gross because it’s purging milk into it, but I mean it slides out needs a rinse and wipe and that’s it. The foam on a creatista in my experience is up to and including setting 5 wet and beyond that the bigger dryer bubbles. So I make my cappuccinos on setting 5 which gets you a thick and creamy wet proper barista type foam. They taste amazing. The lattisima seems to just produce varying amounts of macchiato foam regardless of the drink type. The downside of the creatista is of course cost, they are expensive. We got ours in the sales in January for £180 I think.
