Paige was totally clutch. One of the best games I’ve ever watched and I’m old enough to have watched MJ, Magic, Bird etc. New UConn fan in the UK :)

Two really disciplined, well coached and talented teams playing high level basketball. Neither team every showed any panic, just focused play execution for two well matched teams. Was both exciting and inspiring to watch, both worthy teams to be moving on.. looking forward to seeing Uconn play again.

Iam from Egypt and iam a huskies fan, but I can't watch the games, I watch the full games after it's done and the highlights.
Nobody wants to watch early round blowouts. Sure you like them as a fan on the positive side of these blowouts but the casual fan will not.
As a new Huskies fan (Of course I discovered Paige Bueckers on RUclips and I am not ashamed! HAHA), I have not been that excited and nervous watching a sporting event since the days of watching MJ play. These Women, on both sides played with pure guts; pouring their hearts and sacrificing their bodies to offer the fans an incredible experience. I was burning a hole in my new carpet from pacing! 🤣
I only hope people understand and appreciate what they just watched. This is what brings people together. Peace to all.

Best game of the tourney!! Definitely poor calls from the refs, but NC state had some questionable decisions. Made no adjustments on defence in OT, having Diamond on the bench in crunch time and Wes calling that time out?

It's too bad that one team had to lose. But as a basketball lover, very enjoyable game!
So glad I got to watch this game. That last quarter and the double OT tho!! Both teams were so tough. Paige was clutch but so were those girls on NC State, always responding on offense. But lets go Uconn!!! Though next game's gonna be tough, I don't know who I want more in the final, Stanford or the Huskies!

@@noneofyourbusiness6100 ok so you wanna argue that this game could've turned out differently if the refs had just made the calls you wanted them to make?? I can do the opposite, how bout the bad call on Williams that sent Jakia to the line, or that potential flop that earned Kai those three free throws? I ain't like any of those but I didn't complain about them. Bad calls and missed calls happen every single game and as close and back and forth as this one was NC State could've pulled ahead at any point in time the same way UCONN did. It wasn't their night.
@@noneofyourbusiness6100 That's because that's the way you choose to interpret things. There were numerous missed calls, numerous phantom calls against both teams. Your problem is you only make mental note of the ones that go UConn's way and disregard the others.
Could you put up the stat on the Distance From Their Campus from Bridgeport Connecticut on both teams?? That decided the winner in the game
@@mongoslade277 Explains to me way Creighton a 10 seed beat both Iowa and Iowa State in Iowa? They were 2 and 3 seeds. I guess we could have played at a neutral site with almost no fans.

These ladies can ball no doubt about it. This was an exciting game from start to finish. Uconn vs South Carolina in the finals maybe 🤞🏼 Stanford has to keep the game slow 🐌 for them to win.
NC State clearly should have been the number two overall seed behind South Carolina. Stanford was third overall in all of the metrics, but the committee gerrymandered the s-curve to flip-flop NC State and Stanford to ensure UCONN would get to play in Bridgeport. On a truly neutral court, NC State is probably the second best team in the country behind South Carolina.
Paige is the best college D1 womens point guard to ever play the game of basketball IF she wins and solidifies herself with a national championship. If not she'll be ONE of the greats to ever play D1 Womens basketball.
Agreed. She’s the best D1 womens player I’ve ever seen. Her skill level and IQ are just next level and she’s so fun to watch. I didn’t enjoy watching women’s basketball until she came along.

Great game. Paige is an amazing player. Wish the officiating was better. UConn definitely got away with a lot towards the end. These refs have been awful the entire tournament for both men and women.
Officiating did what the money/NCAA wanted. 4 home games four wins, refs in your corner. Did I mention four home games. Those Uconn Huskies sure are lucky! NOT.

@Warwick Dun To be frank, I never watched them play before.And yes, they were #1 seed but those rankings at times mean nothing to me, because #4 could beat #2 team on a given day. Other things being equal.

UConn is the greatest basketball program of all time men or women's. They are going to be a force for many years to come. They just recruited two McDonald's All AMERICANS who are rated number 2 and 3 in the country. Bueckers has 2 more years and Fudd has 3. Not to be looking ahead of the final four but that's down right scary for the rest of the country.

Should have been played at a neutral site, especially considering uncon was the lower seed, it literally sounded like a home game and provided an unfair advantage. Though will admit Wolfpack made some bad unforced errors
@ eak - Unfortunately, women's basketball has to play in their "hot spot" areas or they will not get spectators.The womens' "March Madness" LOSES money every year and they are trying to schedule their events around the mens' games as best they can. What a waste !

That was an intense game. NC State put up a great effort. I was neutral on who won, but Uconn sure is a spoiled team seeing that's their 14th consecutive time making to the NCAA Final 4.

NC head coach, SHOULD have at least TRIED to isolate two defenders on Paige, MAN, you need to take a chance on some one ELSE beating you. In the second half, and overtime Paige made buckets at WILL. I feel SO bad for the NC State pkayers, ESPECIALLY the two ladies that made those 3's to send the game into BOTH overtime. All the hard WORK they(NC State) displayed on the court was SADLY overshadowed by bad coaching decisions in the crucial moments of a GREAT game that ended their season.

N.C. State bust their butts all year, earn a #1 seed then has to play the regional final as basically a road team. Seems like a pretty rotten deal for them.
Very well might be; you got to talk to the NCAA. They make the rules for seeding, and play location.
They wouldn't have been a #1 seed had UConn not had the injuries. And, ironically, it would have been better for NCSt in the tournament to be a #2.
No excuses for NCST...the senior laden team that hasn't been to a Final Four since 1998...now you know why...they simply did not know how to take charge and win the game from a lower-ranked underclassman-led UCONN team that had lost a player to injury. All the ingredients were there for NCST to be motivated - they have better overall personnel; they are the #1 seed; they have the better record; they have been the higher ranked team all year; this is the last chance for this senior core of players to get to a Final Four and win a championship; being insulted the game was played on lower-seed UCONN's turf. It was all there, but NSCST allowed themselves to be punked by younger players. They lost the game defensively...repeatedly allowing Bueckers and Fudd to shoot open jumpers in the 4th Qtr and OT, when they should have stayed in the face of these two key players at all cost. Instead of locking down Bueckers and Fudd and forcing the others to beat you, NCST for the most part gave these two players too much space to shoot jumpers, and engaged in "basket trading" hoping that Bueckers and Fudd would miss shots. UCONN probably had the lead for 35 of the game's 40 mins. This game was on a platter for NCST to commandingly take, but during critical crunch time moments, they had no belief, confidence, or knowledge on how to take it. Lower-ranked UCONN did and took it...thusly, the right team won.
Why are the womens game volume so low ???
This was surly Paige's best game since recovering from her injury. Her main attribute was her staying so calm which made her scoring so good. Most of us will never forget this game. Nelsen and Edwards managed to remain in the game until almost the end of the second overtime. Williams plays larger than her size and Fudd can only get better. Quite sad about Dorka. Uconn will miss her. I can't think about Stanford, with all their size, at this time. N. Carolina State may have stolen the game from Notre Dame but not this game.

Why is women's college basketball so entertaining, and good basketball, but the wnba is neither of those?
This matchup should never had occurred unless it was in the Final Four. The selection committee made some significant adjustments to the true seed values. For UCONN to get the #1 seed in Bridgeport, they would have to seed them ahead of NC State, which was out of the question. That left them with a quandary. NC State was the key, because they were going to get the #1 seed in Bridgeport. Due to the s-curve protocol, there were only two viable combinations for them to get UCONN to Bridgeport, being 2 overall vs 7 overall, or 3 overall vs 6 overall. Otherwise, UCONN is playing out of state. NC State was a clear #2 overall in almost all of the analytics over Stanford, and UCONN was #4 or #5 overall in all of the analytics. In the end, I think they chose to flip-flop NC State and Stanford at #2 and #3 overall and bump UCONN down to #6 overall to get them to Bridgeport, maybe thinking that keeping NC State at #2 and bumping UCONN all the way down to #7 to also get them to Bridgeport would have made the gerrymandering more obvious.

UConn was already without Dorka and Edwards fouls out on a phantom call...but I bet you didn't see a problem with that one, right? The fourth foul on Nelson-Ododa was also a phantom call... again, I'm sure you had no problem with that call either.

@@Lady_K2 I'm not a Uconn hater at all. I'm a fan of Paige, too. As far as the number of fouls called, there are many ways to manipulate foul calls to benefit one side. A ref can, for example, call a foul on the floor on a drive to the basket, taking 2 points off the board, and not call that foul if the basket was missed. I've seen a ref do this 4 times in one game against one team. Or call touch fouls while letting hatchet jobs ride. Refs decide all close games. Uconn gets a lot of favorable treatment, IMO. I'm not crying about anything, just an observer.

I just don’t get it NC State Women’s Basketball!! It seems like you girls are more interested in getting ur har did, yowa nayals done, and eyelashes on, and final touch of lip gloss!!! I don’t understand why a competitive athlete needs, or would want to look like they’re headed out to da clubhouse!!?? Most, except the one with ridiculous purple and yellow hair, of the UConn women looked like they wanted to win a basketball championship and not win a boyfriend or girlfriend!! I'm not sure what game you were watching but I saw a team of athletes play their butts off for 50 minutes in an amazing basketball game. Who cares what they choose to do fashion wise. They're excellent players and should be recognized for that!
