This is slightly misleading, if you just woke up from your slumber..
    1) it says it's "nft block chain" game in very clear English letters when you download under Genre
    2) the entire development team has been stating this for nearly a year
    3) why are people so against playing and being able to make money doing so?
If you guys want to get bent over with no lube keep complaining when people try and make a game where _you_ can be paid just for playing (which they clearly stated was their goal in a dev call from 6 months ago)
You no longer own your games, it's now a lease which is clearly not going anywhere.. am I picking up what OTG is putting down? Time will tell.. but at least they are trying.. but then again this is an age of complaining and echo chambers

every game want to make money. for example COD want you every year to buy 80$ and atleast 10$ every session so that you play the game at high level. I done that 3 years now, but in BO6 i will not buy at all and will try others game like gray zone warefare which you buy once and you have it for years (surely they will want more money if they made a new version).
i will still play free warzone just for fun

COD sell their game for $80 and then all the weapons are free, the battle pass ones are all free. You can unlock them a bit faster by buying Blackcell or individual battle pass levels, and I think that's a bit crap, or people can drop them for you in MWZ.
I agree though, I wish COD didn't have all these microtransactions.
Also if you think Gray Zone Warfare will continue development for years without microtransactions or paid DLC packs I think you might be in for a surprise.

So you if u pay for pro u hsve the privilege to sell the stuff you earned for free to others otg pro members for want to sell the stuff they got fir free too. Does it cost money to buy, sell items, no. Marketplace items are bought and sold with the "guns" in game currency you get for free too.. where is the pay to win aspect? @@GeekyPastimes I appreciate your perspective on NFTs and crypto in gaming, but I'd like to offer a different view based on my experience in both traditional finance and the crypto space. My journey in this field began in the banking sector, where I worked from 2001 to 2008. During this time, I witnessed firsthand some of the issues that contributed to the global financial crisis. This experience was a wake-up call for me, prompting a deep reflection on the nature of our financial systems and a search for alternatives. I may use caps because im passionate for good reason.
After taking some time to reassess my career and focus on charitable work, I found myself drawn to the world of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology in 2017. What captured my interest wasn't just the technology itself, but its potential to address some of the fundamental problems I had observed in traditional finance.
Blockchain and cryptocurrencies, at their core, offer a way to create more transparent, equitable financial systems. They have the potential to mitigate the boom-bust cycles we've seen in traditional markets and provide a hedge against inflation-driven devaluation. Moreover, they can democratize access to financial services and promote wealth redistribution by providing true stakeholder value in various digital ecosystems, whether that's in games, metaverses, or social platforms.
When it comes to NFTs specifically, I think it's crucial to look beyond the hype of digital art collectibles. At their essence, NFTs are simply unforgeable contracts of ownership. This technology has applications far beyond the realm of digital collectibles, with potential uses in real estate, intellectual property rights, and yes, gaming.
In the context of gaming, blockchain technology and NFTs offer a way for players to truly own their in-game assets. This doesn't necessarily mean players are required to purchase tokens. Instead, items earned through gameplay can be owned, sold, or traded at the player's discretion. It's about giving players more control and value for the time and effort they invest in games.
I've seen promising projects in this space that are exploring sustainable economic models, balancing player value with game integrity. These projects are just the beginning, and I believe we'll see more innovative applications in the coming years.
It's worth noting that the implications of blockchain technology extend far beyond gaming. We're seeing real-world applications being explored, such as Indonesia's efforts to digitize their land registry using blockchain. The transparency inherent in blockchain technology has the potential to democratize access to information and services in ways we're only beginning to understand.
Looking to the future, while it's speculative, I believe blockchain could play a significant role in our financial systems. We might see a landscape that includes central bank digital currencies, corporate currencies, and independent digital economies, with gaming ecosystems potentially bridging these various systems.
I understand the skepticism surrounding crypto and NFTs. Like any nascent technology, they have been misused by some, and there have been instances of fraud and market manipulation. However, dismissing the entire field overlooks its potential for positive change. I encourage everyone to research these technologies with an open mind, considering both their current limitations and future possibilities.
In the end, whether we embrace or reject these technologies, they are likely to play an increasingly important role in our digital future. By engaging in informed, balanced discussions about their potential benefits and drawbacks, we can help shape how they're implemented and used for the betterment of society. Rather than being overly judgemental on a HUGE paradigm shift our world is in the first decade of.
Another point to consider is the recruitment of people to early adoption in crypto has been largely tribal and cult like, and I dont know if you have looked at the comments of many topics these days but people are generally a bit arseholey and hyper polarised. I see people on the nay saying side, callign it NFT laden mess, scam etc, where there is ZERO evidence of that, its pure knee jerk hyperbole. There is nothing more toxic than accusing people of being conmen, scammers and thieves (all the same thing in my mind) without a shred of evidence.

    Little bit of facts:
1)they arent hiding anything, you are just blind and couldnt go to off website and read about it...
2)it cant be pay2win simply cause you can find any gun/limb on the map.
3)nft means that every item has it count. Every weapon/limb has speciffic number to loot. Every ingame item is nft which can be bought with ingame currency (same as with cod, csgo etc)
    4) this is special for those who are afraid of nft 😂- lets talk about steam, ok? 4.1) when you buy game in steam, you pay money, BUTif you refund this game, you get money back BUT on your steam account, not credit card, in other words this cash facticly isnt yours. If your acc got banned, you will loose this money. 4.2) you play csgo, you buy skin for real money. In fact you "buy" currency in order to buy skin in steam. You arent buying it directly ;). You cant get money from steam legally, only with help of third party websites. Now off the grid- you collect nft(weapons/limbs etc) and you will be able to sell them for crypto which in fact can be exchanged for real cash.
    5) now about meta guns etc- ive played 1 month before EA release and collected almost all top limbs and guns without otg pro subscription and selling items. You can vine or you can play, your choice👍🏻

    • @GeekyPastimes
      @GeekyPastimes  День назад

      1) Weird I had a conversation with Neill Blomkamp about them hiding it and he just said it was because it wasn't important. None of the marketing materials mention the NFT/Crypto/Web3 stuff, except for the ones they release at crypto conventions. I did a whole video about this two years ago where I explain more about how they were hiding it.
      2) So if I say a specific assault rifle with five specific attachments on is the meta, you'd be able to find that gun on the map? That's like saying you don't need to make a loadout in Warzone because you can find everything in ground loot. Of course you can't
      4) No-one's afraid of NFTs, some people just think it's a dumb way to scam vulnerable people into thinking they're going to become a millionaire with no effort, getting money out of them in the process. I'd rather people didn't exploit vulnerable people.
      5) *almost all* - see the problem? You've been playing for a month and you don't have all the best limbs and guns. If you paid you'd have them right now! Then what happens as they add new OP guns and limbs, you just rely on luck getting the right hexes, while getting killed by people who pay for it.

@GeekyPastimes my friend, why when i enter otg website i can find EASILY all the info about web3 nft etc and you cant(or wont)? Noone is hiding anything. About the attachments-i have almost all, things that i havent i just dont need. I have all the purple limbs, all purple guns that i play usually, so why for example do i need useless for me gun? For collection you could say-ok, then i will just play some rounds and then buy it for gunz. You need to understand very simple thing- this game is free to play game. How do you think it can survive as a f2p game? With battle passes. Has it battle pass? Yes. Has it ingame currency? YES but which game hasnt? Cod? Fortnite?WOT? Every f2p game has battlepass and ingame currency and only difference here is that every item has its count(for example there are 2 mills of aks etc) but ingame currency is the same as in other games. Every mp game sooner or later will have meta guns that will be nerfed/tweaked, its not a surprise at all, this game included👍🏻

You can buy the pro subscription (£9.50/month) to get 5x as much currency, can sell your weapons and thus buy all the best guns and attachments you want.
You can do all of that right now

This is such a childish take. How is having NFTs any different than selling bundles in COD? At least with NFTs you can sell your “skins”. Sounds like a boomer who still doesn’t understand the internet.

    • @GeekyPastimes
      @GeekyPastimes  2 дня назад +1

Because NFTs are used to give people the idea that they own something valuable, so vulnerable people will be tricked into buying things thinking it's an investment or that it's inherently worth more.

This guy missed the whole part about the items you buy on the marketplace are from other players. It's not a company store selling crates. They allow you to sell what you earn. How can you make so many hater videos without acknowledging that? Seems convenient.
