"Irrigation " saved me when I had my stoma! I lasted almost 24 hours without Sally getting active. I was able to go back to work with no worries❤️

Thanks for sharing! If you want to fold up the bag even smaller, you can use a paper clip. Not all products have to be stoma products. Hope this helps.

I have had my ileostomy for 9 weeks now and done about 16 changes. My barrier ring seems to leave a lot of stickiness behind. It takes about 4-5 adhesive removal wipes to get it all off. I haven't seen any videos of people having this issue. Did you have that happen when you first got your ileostomy? Does it not happen as much as time goes on? (Most bag changes I see are from people that have had their stoma for over a year.) Thank you for putting out this video. ☺

I noticed the brand they gave me in the hospital was super sticky and left residue on my skin. After I was released from the hospital I tried other brands and I liked the Holister Slim Barrier Rings and they didn’t leave any residue. Try different brands to see what works best with your skin. Most companies should offer free samples for you to try before you buy the product! I’m glad the video helped!

After surgery it was very swollen. I want to say it was around 1 3/4 inches and shrunk down over 4 weeks to 1 inch and stayed at that size.

I have so many little accessories in this box I received no clue how to use them or what there for. Your stoma is so tiny. Mine looks like a darn anaconda. Anyways got mine few months ago a cancer tumor blocked my rear and figulas were contaminating my surgical wounds, specialist, said if I don't get the bag I won't last much longer. I was terrified of getting it , but actually few days out of hospital went back to work which I shouldn't have and super hot here in Texas, bag wouldn't hold, sweat n such just don't know who to talk to about all these accessories and other things Anyways great video 👍

Question. My 8yr old has an ileostomy and we are having an issue with the wafer not sticking. What do you use to help with that? He is active so I'm thinking he sweats and it comes off quicker.

Hello! I used a small barrier ring to put around the area I cut out for my stoma and if I noticed the edges of my wafer peeling but it wasn’t yet time to change my bag, I’d add flange extenders around the area lifting up and that helped secure those edges. Hoping you’re able to find a solution that works for him!

@Lyndzerella thanks yes we use the barrier strips to help keep it down. Also today in watching your videos, we have been using Hollister bags for the past year. But when we first started we used sensuro mio clicks with the star shaped wafer. Your video reminded me of that and we had some in our storage. Wow what a difference! We are in Florida and it's hot. Plus, we use convex wafers because he prolapsed the day after surgery so his scars near the navel look similar to yours. And success 🙌 His bag has stayed on all day and even to bed. Yesterday we changed it 3 times. It's amazing how some products work for a while and then you have to change it up. So thanks for sharing your video helped so much. 😊

@Lyndzerella and our son loves to see people with ostomies and it makes us less uneasy about his future. So glad you are doing this.

I am on Coloplast website trying to find this bag and flange that you recommend and I don’t see the one that looks exactly like this? You don’t happen to have the exact name of it do you? Thank you so much for your video

Hello! The coloplast products I used SenSura Mio Click Ostomy Barrier and the SenSura Mio Click Ostomy pouch (maxi size). I usually did the two piece bags but occasionally got a one piece bag which was the SenSura Mio Ostomy Pouch. Hope this helps!

Stupid question I guess, but what happens to the stoma bag you took off? Maybe I missed that part?

I used a little trash baggie for my old bag and all the wrappers for the new products I would put on for the fresh bag. Then once I was done with the bag change would tie up the bag and throw in my big trash.

You are so lucky that your scar is so nicely healed. I guess it helps to be slim. Mine is too close to the navel. Sometime I wish I could stretch the navel because they cut too close to it. Oh well there are more important things. Good job in the video.

Your video only specifies two piece bags. 😮 you shouldn’t use a two piece.

You don’t need to use a two piece bag. !! I use Hollister one piece.
