"The power creep of the game has gotten to a point where destroying all monsters your opponent controls doesn't really matter anymore."
kinda terrifying
thats if you ae able to use a card when everything you do is negated instantly
Yeah too you it doesn't matter because I'm pretty sure most people wins when they opponent have no monsters on the field best way to win certain is to make sure your opponent have no cards in they hands after they monsters are destroyed
He did specify during your turn, torrential tribute has become popular and Zeus’s whole thing is destroying all monsters but part of what makes it so good is interupting the opponent
It's sorta helpful in the case of skull servants....
Power creep is so bad in this game skull servant decks based around Kaiba's weakest card are viable

Hearing the words "wiping your opponent's field isn't a big deal anymore" still blows my mind
"During your turn" is an important caveat there. If you can wipe your opponent's field in the middle of your *opponent's* turn that can generally decide games.
And I'm still thinking Gandora, Dragon of destruction is massivley broken. This makes me feel old, tbh.
It's less punishing because you can rebuild easier if you still have resources plus more stuff has protection while very few cards had it when Dark Armed Dragon came out.
wiping their field is still a pretty big deal if you can actually do it. what he really means is that nowadays there are lots of ways to negate and destroy something like dark armed dragon before it has the chance to destroy your field.

"most amount of play in nekroz... simply because its a level 12 card that looks cool."
Why am I not surprised about this.
Actually, it had some use, too. There was a combo Nekroz decks could do where they would send Quazar with Kaleidoscope to summon two Brionacs, overlay for Inzektor Exa Beetle, equip Quasar with its effect, then destroy Quasar and an opponent's card, triggering Quasar's floating effect to net a free Shooting Star Dragon. It was by no means a GOOD combo but it was fun. You could also copy Quasar with Phantom of Chaos, which some people ran with how good Kaleidoscope and the Nekroz effects were in general and how you could set it up reliably with Lavalval Chain at the time.
@@Karkesis I played Armityle the Chaos Phantasm as my level 12 during Nationals season in 2015, just so I could say I topped Nationals playing Armityle (which I did). Never thought of the Exa-Beetle thing though, I guess Quasar would have been strictly better :(
@@lokephoenix1039 Nah not really. The Exa Beetle combo was the definition of a win-more play, if you were ever in a position to do it and not get punished then you were gonna win anyway. But it WAS cool, and that's what's important to me.

Another fun way Nekroz can abuse Shooting Quasar Dragon is by using kaleidoscope to send it to the graveyard and ritual summon two Nekroz of Brionac. Then use those two to Xyz summon Inzektor Exa-Beetle, and use his effect to equip Quasar. Then you can send Quasar and an opponent's card to the GY, letting you cheat out Shooting Star Dragon.

One of the craziest Nekroz plays I saw was using Shooting Quasar Dragon with Kaleidoscope to summon two Nekroz of Brionacs. Then overlaying the Brionacs for Inzektor Exa-Beetle, which would equip Quasar to itself from the graveyard. Not only would it become a 3000 ATK beatstick, but if it (or Quasar) was removed from the field, the Quasar's floating effect would trigger and summon a Shooting Star Dragon.
tch tch tch, slight editor misshaps when transitioning from fisherman 2 -> 3 eh?, but thanks for another relaxing top 10 video
thank god I'm not the only one, I was so confused lol
Back in the days, there was a card combination where you could summon 3x shooting quasar dragon in the same turn.
Excellent video!!! I love this kind of subjects because they include old cards wih activates the nostalgic part of the game.
If I am allowed to correct you, there is a way to cheat out shooting quasar dragon if you use the spell card limit overdrive. The card allows you to return a tuner synchromonster and a non tuner synchromonster to the extra deck and summoning a synchromonster with a level equal to the combined levels of the synchromonsters and ignoring its summoning conditions. Shooting quasar dragon is even on the card
Certainly a good way to cheat it out. But it does mean Quasar can only attack once
@@MattTGM Also important to point out that if you summon Quasar and you use it's effect to summon Shooting Star, if you decide to negate an attack and banish Shooting Star for the turn, Shooting WILL NOT come back on the field because it wasn't summoned properly. Learned that the hard way.
Where's Red Dragon Archfiend?
Scarlight and Supernova are strong evolutions.
And techno music
I love supernpva, it's so much fun to play
And hot red dragon archfiend king calamity
I'm still sad about Dragon Buster getting banned. Yes it was a problem locking your opponent out of their extra deck, but it's only thanks to Union Carrier that the card became splash able in any deck that had room to run it or could run it. I mean Dragon Buster can only equip itself to the OG Buster Blader. (yes Buster Dragon can equip it to any Buster Blader monster but I still think that's fair because you need to have a level 8 Sychron monster and a Buster Blader to use that.)
In the Anime Shooting Quasar Dragon was summoned with a very obscure effect where Life Stream Dragon made Stardust, Black Rose, Red Dragon and Ancient Fairy were all treated as Lvl 1.
I'm so sad that Yubel is not here, it's my favourite deck :(
Unfortunately, Yubel was only ever competetive in Duel Links, but even that is too powerful now.
I was kinda hoping to see red eyes make this list also
Yubel wouldn’t really count, seeing as it’s later versions actually incorporate the original in their effects, meaning that instead of them being evolutions they’re more just part of the same series/archetype, like armed dragon lv3-10. Although armed dragon got dark armed dragon and there is also the thunder armed dragons coming up, those are evolutions
I use a combo using nephtys and fire king cards, its not top tier but its fun

That's not a evolution, that's corruption.
@@sarthakarora3212 He did that for Dark Dai Grepher in another evolution video, so I think it should count here too. Maybe it just wasn't good enough
Effect-wise, Dark Horus wasn't as good as the original (one-sided Spell lockdown is no joke) but is much easier to bring out (doesn't have restrictions on Summoning) and it had niche use in Hopeless Dragon Decks since it's DARK, Level 8 and a Dragon that doesn't have summoning restrictions with 3000 ATK.

I remember when Armed Dragon Lvl 7 was my boss card since it was the highest attack monster in my deck. Although, I wasn't usually able to summon it but when I did it was very exciting
Not going to lie, it boggles my mind whenever I hear someone say they only enjoy one medium of Yugioh. Be it they only play the game or watch the anime or read the manga. So many cards, especially legacy support are designed to be love letters to the anime/manga so not knowing the reference kinda weakens the appeal of the card. It's like hearing a quote from a movie that you have never seen. Goes right over your head.
I mean, I get that it isn't for everyone and sometimes the legacy support making the anime references isn't very viable, but you still deprive yourself from a good chuckle or that nostalgic feeling. So many cards are a nod to characters or moments that it can be fun to see a card and go "I understood that reference".
I'll bet DuelLogs has never said "Harpie" that many times in his life. In addition to all the other suggestions I make all the time, Top 10 Best Cards Whose Effects *Can* Miss Timing would be interesting.

I had an idea to make the original relevant again: there should be a continuous or field spell that make is so whenever players ritual summon a non-effect ritual monster (and/or a low level effect ritual monster), they can summon the other two copies of it from their hand, deck or graveyard at the same time. Non effect ritual monsters in this era might not have much going for them on their own, but summoning three monsters at once is still nothing to sneer at.
