Clonodine has worked wonders for my anxiety. I was on a very heavy dose of Xanax for over 30 years and swore I would never be able to live without it, all I can say is, Clonodine was a life saver!!
I've been on 3mg of Xanax a day for 20 years. Do you have high blood pressure? My doctor won't give me clonidine because I have Low blood pressure AND bradycardia. I've been looking for all types of different prescriptions to get off the Xanax because of the long term effects on the brain.
If you have chronic pain and even mild hypertension I highly recommend this medication. I was having multiple panic attacks a week in response to chronic pain. Before I was in pain I never had difficulties with stress or anxiety. Chronic pain changes the hormones in your body and in my case it was because of chronic exposure to high levels of noradrenaline. It has been an absolute game changer for me.
Pwesiti, can I ask yiu a Q. I have chronic pain like you from severe Cervical Stenosis, Thoracic Stenosis and Lumbar Stenosis - I have severe stenosis across my entire spine. I am in very severe pain. I have had two cervical fusions, a Thiracic fusion and a Lumbar Fusion. I am waiting to have a third cervical fusion and a secind lumbar fusion. I just received a Rx from my NP for Clonidine .3mg at night for insomnia. I am wondering if i should double thst dise abd take .3mg in the AM and .3mg before bedtime for both insomnia but alsk for pain and anxuety ? Pwesiti, what dose of clonidine do yiu take and how many times per day ? Thank you !!! Steven
Great video, love your content! My personal experience with Clonidine has been great. I told my doctor a few years ago I wanted an alternative to benzos because I worried about relying on them too much. It’s been really great as a prn. The only thing I don’t love is the dry mouth 😝 but it’s a small price to pay for a med I only take once in awhile 👍🏻
What if you just choose to be on a benzo cause you don't feel these drugs work well enough? If you're on Klonopin for 8 years like I was these pills are useless against panic attacks that make you feel like you're going to die. They might help like 10% and that's about it. Do we as patients have that right to go back on a drug if we were on them before and they worked?
@@struckkk1999 yeah you sound like all the idiot doctors and naive people. There are a ton of psychiatrists right here on RUclips that say the best way to come off these drugs is to slowly taper, not to detox in 5 days or 10 days. Why are you looking up videos about clonidine which is a blood pressure pill?
You have the "right" to decide (because you know) what works best for you. I suffered anxiety since as young as ten years of age. Benzodiazepines work beautifully. Try being on a heavy dose of Xanax for over 30 years. Clonodine does work, I am living proof. I take .3mg 3 times daily. It was a life saver for me, give it a chance.
I'm using this for tmj night clenching. It doesn't stop the clenching but it helps reduce how tight I clench. Which reduces injury that mouthgaurds weren't protecting me from.
It took a few days for it to take effect. Sure it made me tired right away but the clenching pressure didn't improve until about 3 days. I stopped taking it when headaches went away and my mouth became dry and throat became sore. "Side effect" Saliva production went back to normal but 2 days later I became hyperactive and clenching pressure came back at full. So I'm back to taking it as prescribed again. If I ever get back to a normal state, I'll make sure to slow ween off with help of dr.

I take clonidine .2. It does seem to have a calming effect when I have major anxiety. Obviously not as noticeable as a benzo. But i cannot tske benzos due to prior addiction issues.

@@JamesHobart-tb6ik very true, it's like they are so afraid of someone overdosing even though I was on them and my methadone got years with no problems. Is there any concerns when sombody go from on med to another
Thank you so much. I have a question, which is the best form for reducing anxiety symptoms, IR or XR of Clonidine?
Based off what she said .1-.2 ir is for anxiety
Zanaflex or the generic Tizanidine, the muscle relaxer works similar to Clonidine.
Tizanidine makes my bp go up several points. Guess these meds affect different people differently.
