There were no Zhuhai County before 1952, those islands(Ladrones Islands and Lema Islands) south of Hong Kong were also part of Bao'an County during that period.
if you guys go to nhk websites and listen to some of those wartime radio broadcast, they have recordings of hong kong battles, its victory march, and the banzai chants. that banzai chant imo is the most haunting - perhaps the chant was done indoor?
Had Japan succeeded and still rulinng Hongkong even right now, Hongkong would have looked SOOOOO different. Even with the neons, the patterns of the signboards' chaotic placement would had changed completely.
