This conveys why i love jiujitsu so much, you can go pretty much full force against your sparring partners and them full force against you with very low risk of injury, then get up and go again and again while developing and maintaining a lot of respect for each other.
Also, some of the best bjj safety advice I've ever heard is just "don't roll with assholes" lol
I glad I found Bjj I love getting in cat fight rolls with my teammates
Going on 3 years biggest injury is a dislocated pinky. Tap early, tap often and respect the tap.
As Ryron Gracie says ( "keep it playful") no need to go 100% all the time. That way the people who need it most can train also( the small, weak, young, shy, old etc, ) compete in competitions, train with your team mates. :)
I trained with Ryron 10 years ago and YES! I love this philosophy.
very well stated!
whats the worst injury you have had from bjj?
8 years training and the worst was bad…fully torn pec major tendon. Surgery and out for about 4-6 months. I know injuries can happen, but 90% of that one was due to me not taking care of myself outside of the gym. Walked in at 40 and tried to go 1000 miles an hour with no warm up. I do not recommend that! Lol
MOST GYMS are dangerous - because the coaches don't supervise and demand safe play.
JiuJitsu isn't dangerous. The way gyms are ran is dangerous.
How do you know about most gyms? I've been to plenty and most, by far, were not dangerous. There are reckless individuals out there, but most people in most gyms are safe. Of course, if you want to grapple like a jerk there is a higher chance of getting that energy back.
slappity bumpity roly poly huggy lovey super gay and dangerous.
You just wish it was gay.
