I'm in love with aga! I had wood burning stove/oven that had on left side part for water. Old old ovens in Croatia were similar to AGA there were like 2 to 3 ovens and above stove with hole for water.
You can also put the bread for toasting onto the bake o glide on the simmer plate with the lid down. It's far nicer because the toast doesn't dry out and also makes great toasties.
You can buy from your Aga shop a Christmas cake baking pot which has 3 different sized cake tins inside. You simply put the baking pot with the cake inside on the floor of the roasting oven and it only takes a couple of hours to bake.
Being an American...and watching ETTCountry...I've seen these units in various episodes and didn't understand exactly how they work. Huh...looks like it could work. Thanks from Castle Rock, Colorado
I don’t understand why it’s better, or worth the effort, than a normal oven, hob and grill. Feels like a lot of work.. like a life style than a normal utility. (I’m from the U.K., but a Londoner.)
They sell US versions now (including the Aga mercury model which is a regular induction or gas style range)! The genius is that the entire interior compartments are cast iron so the heat rises to the top vs having heating elements directly under the pan or cast iron plate- so food retains moisture a lot better & cooks more gently. - from California :)
We Have the same Aga, but tend to do toast on the hotter plate with the lid up. I must try doing toast on the cooler plate with the lid down, as I imagine this would crisp up the toast! Thank you for the tips! I have bcome a fan!
Super video, Have an Aga in my home for the last 60 years still going strong .like this video I dry clothes ,cook bake and the dogs love sleeping bye it best most economical cooker going.i don't have any modern Gadgets.!!
For a family an Aga is better as there is more space in the ovens a Rayburn is smaller and better for a couple or single person in my experience! My mother had a Rayburn once she lived on her own and it was perfect for her
hello, do you need an extractor fan with an AGA i’ve got one on order for my house but like the idea of the maiden and am unsure if an extractor is necessary
We've had our AGA cooker for about 12 years. We're in Oregon and can't find anyone to service the cooker and replace some parts. Where is the support after the sale contact for Aga in North America ?
Enjoyed this. A little piece of advice would be you need to stop talking when you turn away from the camera. Can't understand what you say at that point. Thank you for your showing us AGA life.
If these AGAs are so good, I wonder why professional kitchens don't use them. I'd love to try one once, but they seem more of an energy wasting gimmick than anything else.
@@ask.charlie the energy wastage seems to be astronomical compared to a regular stove. And I certainly wouldn’t want to hang my clothes in the vent that sucks up all the cooking grease and steam. I think love of AGA must be a British thing. It certainly hasn’t taken hold in the USA or the rest of Europe. I still want to try one once!
@@Shahrdad we just moved house and have inherited an aga. I grew up with them and yeah they’re cosy, but we are trying to get rid of ours asap as it is SO so expensive to run and not practical to cook on (not if you want to do anything quickly anyway!). Roasts, baked potatoes and stews etc are fine, but man, they’re frustrating things!
@@ArtByEmilyHare I read an article recently, that many people are trying to get rid of the AGA stoves because of the astronomical rise in energy prices with the war in Ukraine. And people are having difficulty finding people to take these stoves.

Helen Bankes from the Old Mill loves hers too although in summer she needs 12 hours notice to make cheese on toast
This is the most wholesome video I’ve ever seen.
Had an Aga for 6’years and never thought to do that with the Bako glide ! Thank you !! X

That’s a great way 👍
Thank you so much for explaining
Homebargins in the Uk sells the bake o glide sheets
Thanks for letting us know Kim
Just ran across your channel. Excellent explanation. Love the British charm.

Top notch. Aga-tastic video.
Eek can’t wait to have an aga in the house I’m buying!!!! Definitely making a full English on the first morning 🥰
How very exciting xx
Why is it so expensive
Reminds me of how you cook on a wood burring cook stove. You spend you time chasseing the right hot spot
Nice stove. Well demonstrated. I want one.

Tank you very much I really enjoyed the review of your aga god bless
Why don’t you use your baking oven for cakes? Had an aga for 10years and I’m just getting used to lol wouldn’t change it though!
Oh I do! I use my baking oven all the time for cakes
Are they energy efficient?

Charlie, I now have my electric AGA! Do you turn the AGA down before you go to bed?
Yes absolutely you can turn it down, ours is fitted with AIMS and goes into sleep mode at night
@@ask.charlie Thank you Charlie x
Hello I see you have the additional ovens to the right. Do you use them much or do think 3 oven is enough for a family?
That’s the electric module that I use in summer when our Aga is turned off. A 3 oven Aga is perfect for a family
Would you be able to do a Rayburn v Aga review? I'm weighing up which way to jump. Is there any real difference in cooking performance?

I'm watching this while eating breakfast and you're making me hungry again

It’s not necessary to have an extractor with an Aga, we have never had one and used an Aga for many years
@@ask.charlie oh okay that’s what i thought, brilliant thank you 😊- also i forgot to mention what a great video!! take care

So sorry you don’t have support for Aga in the US
call us at 800-241-9152 or email us at customercare@middlebyresidential.com
If your Aga is oil fired, it is very easy and safe to service yourself. All the info is on RUclips.
Around 32k US if you are smitten. A 1k GE will do all of it and then some.
How big of a turkey can you get in this aga

They are best suited to a family home, perfect for cooking, heating the kitchen/home, drying laundry, the list goes on!

Commercial kitchens use French tops which are much more user friendly and heat up way quicker and combi ovens that can have humidity built in
