I love that when Gideon has to be honest about his past, he starts swearing a lot. That's actually a very real thing people do when they're saying something difficult, essentially attempting subconsciously to seem more tough. Mace really is very good at drawing you in to how his character feels.
Let's see Torbek being traumatized, Gideon being bloodthirsty, and Gricko being Gricko, all while Forst and Kremy try to keep the party alive. Yep, it's a normal Once Upon a Witchlight episode

The fact that none of the hags backstories were in the module and you managed to tie this all into prime is so cool! So many props to Nikki for this it was absolutely wild

It's because she wrote it and had been reworking it probably multiple times, and her brain was starting to skip things. It all makes sense now! 😆

When Kremy rolls his dice and Rich starts explaining the swamp that envelops them... That is one of the most epic moments of putting yourself into the game. Richie describes it so well and paints this picture that the others are just beholding. A true DM moment of understanding the world he creates.
Hearing Gideon's backstory (I'm new this is my first watch through of any avantris content so this is new info for me) and hearing him say now that he's lost 10 years of his prime and he won't let anything stop him from having fun now really painted the pixie kiss different for me. Kremy loves this himbo so much and he's jealous sure but he also knows what Gideon's been through and respects his need to be wild and free (from a certain point of view, they are absolutely still married and Gideon knows and loves it) Idk just made it even cuter to me his jealous cooking bc while he may not be STOKED about the degree of openness to their marriage he will not admit to but desperately loves, he does love seeing Gideon being himself and happy and knows he could never be replaced as the main love of Gideons life no matter how many "pixie" wives he may have as well.
I pushed out of my mind that this is where we get Gideon's backstory. Mace has me so emotional that I'm ready to unalive ALL the hobgoblins. Fantastic job guys

On rewatching the freakin 2022 Yuletide special the ending made my jaw drop because of the foreshadowing for this specific episode?? Being in a snow globe the entire time, and in this episode being in an hourglass the entire time?? NIKKI YOU'VE DONE IT AGAIN

This has to be the most exciting combat we have seen in this campaign. Right next to the battle against Torbek. Love getting to see Kremy use his shadow magics so much, they are so cool
Now I understand why Gideon is so eager to fight, to go first, he's living his life like nothing matters, he's not going waste anymore time. He's gonna do what he propose, no matter what it takes. Also love that he still calls Gricko: Little green.
The structure of the visions and the temple is amazing! The hag of the future first, depicted initially as a child, the hag of the present as a middle aged woman, and the hag of the past as an old crone, reversing the time line as each story went on and then the reveal??
Gideon is a such a fun study on masculinity. The positives: strong, protective, supportive, confident, daring, stoic. The negatives: Insecure, Loud, Prone to anger and violence, Impulsive, has a hard time communicating. Whether y'all meant to or not, the dares that are put before Gideon "or you're a b*tch" actually demonstrate the flaws with his character in a really fun and compelling way, and getting to see him open up in this episodes showed a lot of growth with that characters' arc. I'd love to see something similar for Gricko, some growth beyond being the comic foil. Some emotional/serious center in there.
Gricko already has this centre though. He loves his friends, to the point that he can ignore some things that they do (he was telling Kremy at one of the episodes that Frosty and him ignore enough of things already and he won't let Kremy's antics slide this time). He is kind, despite still being a flawed person ( he was, originally, the only one who was kind to Torbek and treated him as an equal and cared for his well-being). He loves his daughter more than anything ( the way that he was upset when he remembered that Hootsie was taken, the way Gideon and Kremy say that he will kill them if they just leave Hootsie in the kitchens in the hag's house). He has his religious beliefs as well. He is more of a silly goofy character, yes, and is often used as a comedian of the party, but he is no less complicated than the others.
Personally, I'd like to see some growth from Kremmy. He's by far the most dishonest and selfish of the group. He's willing to lie to and gaslight his only friends if it gets him what he wants. The only truly precious person to Kremmy is Gideon, but that hasn't stopped him from tricking and magically compelling him multiple times now. Hell, this entire campaign was caused by his own shady choices. I know it's all for the lulz (and some of it was hilarious), but I think his flaws far outweigh those of the other members of the party.
The moment where Andy figured it out... the energy that I got caught up with was so great! I am FINALLY caught up. I started watching Once Upon a Witchlight to understand the Chuckles shorts and by now I am hooked.
For the story of the past Gideon's was perfect. For the story of the present I was also thinking torbek had a story about his current predicament and how being surrounded by people he trust sets him free and the story of future could have been Griko and the eventual future that Hootsie will grow up and be independent on her own, and griko would be free once he learns to accept that she too will grow up
Kremy casting his spell is EXACTLY how I have been wanting to just use my fog cloud 😅 but none of the party members ever let me use it. Quick escape from combat that im just over with

Also andy bein an amazin human bein and encouraging nikki to be an agent of chaos and fuck up the party was adorable and exactly the type of encouragement we all need every day
How I would love to turn this into a novel. All of you bring your characters to life so well, and Nikkie sets the scene so perfectly. I have very much enjoyed this series thus far

"Okay," Derek, bestie are you alright, you accepted that so quickly sjsbdjbdn Gods, Gideon telling his story nearly made me cry-- I'm very glad Kremy comforted him afterward (being an amazing husband) because holy hell, that shit is rough to repeat. I have PTSD from small things, I break down trying to talk about it, trying to repeat a story like that would be impossible. This entire party just needs, like... All the hugs.
I always love how Andy thanks Nikkie after every session. I do that for my own DM after every session. He’s someone I really look up to and respect, and overall he’s a kind and wonderful person. My husband made his very own D&D table with a projector for maps, places for cups and chargers and such forth, and I make it my priority that every time we have a D&D session I cook us a group meal. The last one was a make your own taco buffet, the one before that was spaghetti and garlic bread made with a garlic and balsamic vinegar sauce/aged Parmesan cheese that it’s baked in, as well as homemade burgers and a few other meals. 🫡 A lot of them work overtime and I want them to have fun and relax. Two just entered college later on in life; and we all know that hunger struggle most of us go through during college. Plus with inflation it’s even harder. So this is my way of giving them leftovers for later, and a nice home cooked meal where they can sit down with friends to relax and have fun.

It go so bad I ended up in the hospital and needed a surgery. 😂 But, they’re my friends; and I would do anything for them. I would do the same even if they weren’t. I feed the maintenance men and some of the managers here at my apartment as well. It’s usually when they’re out in the sun for a long time. It’s better to work on a full stomach than an empty one haha. I just want them to know that I’m there. They take time away from stressful jobs and classes so we can meet up for D&D. I’m always stocked up on Ibeprofen, probiotics, Tylenol, etc. So if they ever need any medical supplies if they start to not feel good during the session. I’m just happy to be a part of something that I love so much, and that I get the chance to share it with everyone.

The background for all of the witches broke my heart… it doesn’t excuse the things they’ve done by ANY means, but it is tragic. Because if they had gotten help, if they had been able to heal before their pain overtook them, so many lives would be spared. I might be misunderstanding the origin stories a bit But it does seem to imply that the hags all were normal women at some point with normal lives and normal dreams If Endelyn hadn’t been kidnapped and tortured, or if she’d gotten help to heal from her trauma once she escaped, she may have never drank the potion. And if Bavlorna had been able to have children (I’m assuming that she is barren) or if she was comfortable with adoption, or if she understood that a bloodline isn’t the only way to have a legacy, or that no one really needs one, she wouldn’t have become mama Lorna and hurt so many people.

Personally, I'd like to see some growth from Kremmy. He's by far the most dishonest and selfish of the group. He's willing to lie to and gaslight his only friends if it gets him what he wants. The only truly precious person to Kremmy is Gideon, but that hasn't stopped him from tricking and magically compelling him multiple times now. Hell, this entire campaign was caused by his own shady choices.
I know it's all for the lulz (and some of it was hilarious), but I think his flaws far outweigh those of the other members of the party.

The moment where Andy figured it out... the energy that I got caught up with was so great! I am FINALLY caught up. I started watching Once Upon a Witchlight to understand the Chuckles shorts and by now I am hooked.

For the story of the past Gideon's was perfect. For the story of the present I was also thinking torbek had a story about his current predicament and how being surrounded by people he trust sets him free and the story of future could have been Griko and the eventual future that Hootsie will grow up and be independent on her own, and griko would be free once he learns to accept that she too will grow up
I had the same thought. When Gricko started the story of the present, I was surprised.
Kremy casting his spell is EXACTLY how I have been wanting to just use my fog cloud 😅 but none of the party members ever let me use it. Quick escape from combat that im just over with

Gods, Gideon telling his story nearly made me cry-- I'm very glad Kremy comforted him afterward (being an amazing husband) because holy hell, that shit is rough to repeat. I have PTSD from small things, I break down trying to talk about it, trying to repeat a story like that would be impossible. This entire party just needs, like... All the hugs.

I always love how Andy thanks Nikkie after every session. I do that for my own DM after every session. He’s someone I really look up to and respect, and overall he’s a kind and wonderful person. My husband made his very own D&D table with a projector for maps, places for cups and chargers and such forth, and I make it my priority that every time we have a D&D session I cook us a group meal. The last one was a make your own taco buffet, the one before that was spaghetti and garlic bread made with a garlic and balsamic vinegar sauce/aged Parmesan cheese that it’s baked in, as well as homemade burgers and a few other meals. 🫡 A lot of them work overtime and I want them to have fun and relax. Two just entered college later on in life; and we all know that hunger struggle most of us go through during college. Plus with inflation it’s even harder. So this is my way of giving them leftovers for later, and a nice home cooked meal where they can sit down with friends to relax and have fun.
You seem like an incredibly thoughtful and caring person! Going through college myself, I know I was so grateful for the chances I got to have a hearty, home-cooked meal. Your cooking sounds so good, and I'm sure your kindness makes an even better garnish.

It go so bad I ended up in the hospital and needed a surgery. 😂 But, they’re my friends; and I would do anything for them. I would do the same even if they weren’t. I feed the maintenance men and some of the managers here at my apartment as well. It’s usually when they’re out in the sun for a long time. It’s better to work on a full stomach than an empty one haha. I just want them to know that I’m there. They take time away from stressful jobs and classes so we can meet up for D&D. I’m always stocked up on Ibeprofen, probiotics, Tylenol, etc. So if they ever need any medical supplies if they start to not feel good during the session. I’m just happy to be a part of something that I love so much, and that I get the chance to share it with everyone.

I don’t want to live in a world without kindness. That’s not a world to me. Unfortunately, that is part of the world that drags most of us down; but that doesn’t mean that I can’t try.

If Endelyn hadn’t been kidnapped and tortured, or if she’d gotten help to heal from her trauma once she escaped, she may have never drank the potion.
And if Bavlorna had been able to have children (I’m assuming that she is barren) or if she was comfortable with adoption, or if she understood that a bloodline isn’t the only way to have a legacy, or that no one really needs one, she wouldn’t have become mama Lorna and hurt so many people.
