Breaking the spirit is a real thing and what was supposed to be a steamroll for the Bruins turned into a real battle and they were not mentally prepared because of how easily they went through the regular season. Hockey is such an incredible sport and anything can happen in the NHL playoffs which I personally believe are the best playoffs in any sport. Boston was making fun of Toronto just one week ago.....my god revenge is SWEET. No, Toronto did not beat Boston but Toronto did a reverse IT WAS 4-1 (game 4 not 7 but it still proved crucial in the Leafs series win) and Boston blew a 3-1 series lead vs a team who barely made it into the playoffs.
Tbf, Toronto did the same thing multiple times and choked against the Canadiens two years ago, a team that barely made the playoffs and made it to the Cup.

@@ericscott9029 Exactly. Which is another reason toronto NEEDED a playoff series victory. We blew chance after chance after chance. Not just the 2013 game 7 choke. Montreal 3-1 choke, last year we were up 3-2 on the TB lightning in the series, up 3-2 in the 3rd period in game 6, we still lost in 7.
Up 3-2 in the series vs Boston in 2019, lost in 7. Etc etc. in 2020 in the shortened version we lost the best of 5 series in the decisive 5th game.

I’m from Buffalo and it’s a reason why the Sabres let Ullmark go!
