- Singer-songwriter Elise LeGrow pays homage to early soul and rock innovators with intimate, stripped-down interpretations of their hits. Listen as she and her band perform two of these soulful renditions: Chuck Berry's "You Never Can Tell" and "Over the Mountain, Across the Sea," first popularized by Johnnie and Joe.

I watched the video and it was lovely! I liked all the songs and lyrics.
Excellent.
Con cada canción me enamoro más de ésta chica. Es una cantante excepcional que imprime un feeling en cada nota...
Thank you for bringing Joy to my heart...❤
Beautifully done, bravo
Really fantastic voice and musicianship from all instruments. I see many comments complaining about the pace of the Chuck classic. I would be interested in hearing these folks perform it at Chuck’s original tempo. Can that happen, TED?
Absolutely breathtaking
Most educational video you have published
Damn! I love this lady!
The mystery is still sealed for Elise LeGrow
C'est la vie- What a catchphrase! Felt the first song was short (I am waiting to know what happened to that couple), but overall a very good performance.
Bahut bdiaa!!!!! Keep it up ❤

Perfect
Her voice sounds good 👍👍
her voice is really good 💕
You can listen and watch her tell the stories she sings. Its the way she does it.... But she is too young to do it that way. Mesmerizing.

Your point?
@@brendarua01 because people think concert doesnt belong to TED but concert is entertainment which is the E of TED
@Brends Rua Lmao stop trying to fish out people who don't like it, this guy wasn't even against it.

Whatever, I'm gonna troll any TED video that is nothing but a musical performance that has no rhyme or reason apart from being a musical perfomance. The trolling is the sign of my displeasure about the musical performances that belong to a musical venue.
Omg 😱🔥
Still a natural beauty.
What is, the biggest rock?
👌🥰
Yay! TEDX!
👍
I'm getting a Winehouse vibe... Awesome!
TED has concerts now too?

fabian padilla They just realized all work and no play makes TED talk boring
@zztop3000
It is true. Look it up. If not, send me a link that shows otherwise. Still, TED is for lectures these days, so I gave this one a dislike regardless of her musical talent.
Elle a tout pour Elle...
I think ferst song looks like style Tom Waits
Check out her music vid of Who do you Love? Man... that is a sizzling hot song! Love this lady...
?
Truly amazing
Turning chess into draughts.
That is the cleverest put down I've seen in a while.

Chuck Berry!
that was actually amazing
where is her barefoot dancer?
As much as i like elisa legrow, what is this doing on TED?
Great!
Matter
Nice. Coffee shop time :D
Okey not first to comment.
Err... Okay, her voice is killer, but come on. Chuck Berry is pure rock and roll, and You Never Can Tell is one of his wildest and happiest masterworks. I have no idea why anyone would choose to do it as a slow, mournful number. These guys have talent, but if you are going to do Berry like that at least pick a song like Memphis, Tenesse or something.

AMAZING WOMAN!
Standing on the toes of giants. At least Chuck isn't around to hear it.
think u don't recognize something nice when you hear it
what the heck
Awful
Here because I thought it was Ms. Swan from Mad TV from the preview. "He look like a man! " LOL
Yeah, originality doesn't necessarily means good.
Foul - uh oh guys the art police are here
what do you mean it's not original at all
89 old boyfriends lost out.thumbs down.haaaa
Chuck is rolling over in his grave at this perversion. Like, she didn’t even need to use the words to You Never Can tell, could’ve been saying anything because this pays zero homage to the original music. Sounds like some depressing song about a breakup instead of the true intent: A hard driving, loud, rock song meant to capture the romance, passion, and excitement of young love. The real song makes me wanna jump up and run around and sing, this one makes me think about going into the bathroom w a shot gun and ending it all. I’m all for artistic license, but a song was murdered here today, folks. Remember, “The only thing necessary for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing.”
You’re seriously implying that her cover of the song is evil based on your own personal feelings towards the original? You don’t have to enjoy her take, but you need to come down to reality.
Well, I would submit it's not only personal feelings. I think an objective argument can be made here that this is almost as far as a re-interpretation of a song can possibly go without being purposefully absurd. People are free to re-interpret music, of course, but I think the video description and other individuals calling it an "homage" is a stretch because one could argue that the original writer of the piece would not feel that this interpretation pays proper tribute to his intent when writing it.
I gotta agree... Chuck's probably my favourite artist, and whilst I don't think he's beyond reinterpretation this choice was bizarre.
Hey folks, she took a song and made something different of it. Agreed, it's nothing like the original, but that don't mean it's not good. It's very good.
@@flopydope Right? Hurt by Johnny Cash is also nowhere close to the original but everyone likes that anyway, I personally have really been loving Elise after discovering during quarantine.
It's well produced, but I find it pretty boring and unoriginal, especially compared to the originals. Good musicians tho.
Leave Chuck berry alone.. This is bs
This is awful
