I’ve LOVED John Travolta since “Welcome Back Kotter”. The range of his acting includes being a good guy, evil guy, musical/dancing guy, comic guy, drama guy,, romantic guy, action guy among others. “Grease” stands out in my mind, and I will always tune in to a movie starring John Travolta. He’s gorgeous no matter what his hairstyle is!
Yes! Welcome back Kotter" was the first sitcom we loved as kids , great show which we used to try reenacting at school, unsuccessfully, because art doesn't re-enact in real school life. We would try to copy the Jersey accent, and be all cool and 'Merican, which didn't always go down well with the teachers, understandably. A few years later, SNF was released, and a group of us lads n lasses (aged 13/14) went to the cinema in Tsim Sha Tsui (underneath Ocean Terminal) to see the film, which was the first time we arranged (by word of mouth at school breaktime/lunchtime, and by the trusted method of passing notes in class to solidify the plan) to see a film we were not supposed to, because it was rated unsuitable for our age group. We made sure to go in a group, there were 8 of us, so that if we were caught, we could share any potential bollocking from our respective folks, via safety in numbers "but there were 8 of us" malarkey. As it happened, none of our folks knew what we were up to, as we said we were going to "the Flicks" on Saturday, and in that "era", parents didn't ask perpetual questions about the flicks their teens might go to on Saturday afternoons. They were too busy doing their own thing on Saturdays in HK, and that applied to all of our folks, without a scintilla of accusation towards them for "failing to protect us". Cinema was a huge part of life in HK, often with elaborate handpainted signs put up in huge panels, rather than standard marketing posters from USA, and the tickets were sold from the kiosk outside, in the bustle of Tsim Sha Tsui, Mong Kok, you name it, it was all over HK, tickets sold in good faith to "the underage", but of course, the ticket seller is working by the hour, and couldn't care less to whom they sell tickets. Why would they? So this worked well for us. The film shocked us all, brought to see another person's life miles away from ours, but with feelings we felt. Having seen some comments by young folks recently about the movie, they seem a bit prissy. What did they expect? watch a movie about a Jersey lad and his friends in the seventies living their lives and dancing on a Saturday night competitively? There will be swearing, there will be a few sexual comments. "I didn't like the racism" is a futile comment I've read via teen reports these days, but what do these teens expect? A film in 1977, at the very fulcrum of Disco, based in New Jersey, with a cast and crew solid to the reality, if anything probably glossing over reality? I mean, come on. The movie is highly close to the truth in the family scenes, the bitter bitchery about putting food on the table and the chasm between Tony Manero and his father. Great acting, great scenes. JT is on a par with James Gandolfini, and long before him.
I don't care about his religion, personal beliefs or anything like that.....I just know that since I was a 13-year old this guy has had some tremendously wonderful characters that have allowed him to make me smile, laugh, cry and DANCE. Elevator shows and disco dancing b/c of him in Saturday Night Fever. Lol. He's a treasure to me for that and many of his other films - especially Pulp Fiction - I truly hope he keeps going for as long as possible. He's the epitome of being one cool cat.
John Travolta, one of my heroes from me seeing him in 1978 when I was 18, Saturday night fever and Grease. Just watching that tells me I have the same respect for that man that I had 44 years ago. In between as well he's made some absolutely awesome movies.

Always amazed to see a clip where any of the guests pay any attention to Corden.
John Travolta is cool anyway he comes. With or without hair. The man is already OLD and still looks and moves amazingly!!!
John is amazing. He sparkeles with only a little movement of his legendary dance!!
I finally watched Pulp Fiction. One of the best movies I’ve seen!
Thanks for your support and care
I love James getting soooo excited while dancing with Travolta. Travolta surely still got the groove. ❤️❤️❤️
Atha Hanindito This clip gives us zero context, can you tell me who James is? And the blonde gal?
Pulp fiction still is in my top 10 favourite films, such a masterpiece.
This is so joyful. Why does Travolta look so much cooler than everyone else?
Wow... Thanks
When you dance with john Travolta, you've made it
Joseph Xuereb 😂
John: do u want to learn them?
everyone: explodes
John Travolta, one of my heroes from me seeing him in 1978 when I was 18, Saturday night fever and Grease. Just watching that tells me I have the same respect for that man that I had 44 years ago. In between as well he's made some absolutely awesome movies.
He’s a legend. I grew up with vinnie barbarino , tony manero, and bud in urban cowboy. So sorry for his recent losses. John, keep dancing !
