- Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Sam Taylor-Johnson recall a Halloween where they dressed up as John Travolta and Uma Thurman's "Pulp Fiction" characters. And John tells them how he and Quentin Tarantino came up with the moves for the popular dance scene in the film, and gives everyone a quick lesson.

Travolta has always struck me as one of the kindest, most respectful stars the last 40 plus years. His life has had so much sadness and anguish, losing his girlfriend, actress Diana Hyland, to cancer in 1977 then losing his son and finally last year losing his wife Kelly Preston, also to cancer. Such pain and anguish I cannot imagine. I don't give a rat's ass about his religion or his sexual preferences. I judge him by the way he conducts himself and how he treats others. For that, he's first rate in my book. And a Jersey boy like me!

He is excellent, under rated. I think it's trendy by critics to pan him now. Too bad. Did you see him in Gotti? Superb! I read and watch a lot of true crime and have come across the Gotti story many times. Travolta nailed him. So did John's wife as Gotti's wife. User reviews were mixed. But even many of the one's who were not happy with the movie raved about Travolta's performance. The complaint was that this movie was not as good as some other favorite mobster movie, or that it didn't cover some particular aspect of his life. Well, you only have 2 hours (seems shorter) to squeeze in everything? Not going to happen. If you pay attention, there are several places where a few lines cover something in his life. Don't miss it.

Somehow I just crossed this and clicked on it - OMG John Travolta dances exactly like he was in the movie...now that makes me find the old dvd of the movie from bottom of my drawer to watch again. Uma was so young and beautiful then, John was so cool. Time flies.

My dad once met John Travolta staying at a Hampton Inn. He asked him why he didn’t stay at a nicer hotel and he said because at nice hotels people know he’s John Travolta but at Hampton Inns people just assume he’s some guy who looks like John Travolta. He was super nice to my dad and chatted for a bit while waiting on a car.

Guess you wouldn’t expect to see him there but honestly, I used to book lots of big stars( played at a area venue ) for yrs & yrs. Many expressly asked to have them booked in at a Holiday Inn etc “EXACTLY FOR THAT REASON.” Fans would not look for them there but assumed the star would be staying at THE SHERATON OR at “The Four Seasons.” They seldom checked the “Holiday Inn Holidome” or at the Holiday Inn( both very nice but not on anyone’s radar for big stars staying there). It is definitely believable to me & makes sense, as down to earth as John Travolta is, to fly under the radar staying at a Hampton Inn( very nice chain). What an amazing experience for your dad!
