To rotate really fast in a T-34 (and most Soviet tanks), don't just turn from a standing start. Instead, accelerate forward about half a tank length, then turn. This can cut the turn time by about half.

@@raketny_hvost Who do you call "boi"? Its an effect of the offensive character of the Soviet Armored Forces. it's doctrinal for such an army. Not political as you said. The issue is that the reverse in speed costs a lot of mechanical and engineering effort, even more in production, waaaay more in this scale of manufacturing, adds to the tank weight so further costs and as a side effect allows the crews to pull back. And this side effect is the MOST important out of mentioned when it comes to the Soviet General Command. As well as Syrian, Egyptian, Chinese, Iraq and many, many more. And no it is not a simple transmission issue.

With every second M4 gathers momentum, the pull for the T-34 becomes harder and harder. I wonder what would let loose first a tarmac ripped with nasty T-34 tracks or M4's rubber pads burned. Apart from this being full legit Type 58, we have to separate WW2 time T-34/85 from post-war T-34/85 because these two are thoroughly different machines.

@@cuhurun well a lighter tank can pull a heavier one if it's weight is distributed more with the ground right. If you got more surface area with the floor then it will be able better turn that engine power into motion. And the T 34 85 has thicker tracks plus a beefly engine.
Does war thunder model Rubber tracks? I don't think so. Could be wrong, this is purely a guess. I am just begging a question.
Do Rubber tracks even help with traction on asphalt? I don't think so, and I legitimately don't think so. Rubber tracks reduce the amount of sound the tracks make when hitting the asphalt as well as reduce the damage to the asphalt but doesn't improve the performance. It apparently does off-road but the T 34 85s has significantly thicker tracks. If you have evidence for rubber tracks performing better than steel on asphalt then I would appreciate a source.

Though the t34 has it's advantages, I perfer for sherman over all, one major thing is gun elevation and depression since the only major thing I hate in russian was -5 degree gun depression so it wasn't suitable for hilly and mountainous terrain. I have the t34-85 yes, it's a great medium tank for its BR rating but for me when I'm fighting in difficult terrain, the sherman is for me. for your sake, I played the sherman more than the t34 cause mainly grinding the U.S. tech tree. This is my opinion and my opinion only, so don't get offended by it. But I will say this, they are both good tanks, both pros and cons, but sometimes...SOMETIMES it's not about the states of the tank, it's how well you utilize it's strengths and use them in battle. Good Luck Tankers!

The M4A3 Sherman tank is better in the gun, machine gun, ergonomic, and made for every terrain since it's need to be shipped off to every front line including the Soviet Eastern front via the lend lease act of 1941.
The Soviet T-34-85 however is more maneuverable, faster, meaning that it doesn't get stuck in mud or Snow especially when moving unlike the German, cheaper, and better armoured thanks to Soviet classified material of Stalinium that is strongly debated, strong but Very heavy and sloping of armour that deflect shell easier, but less ergonomic and smaller turret meaning smaller gun

Before seeing the end or more than half a second of the beginning, I think Sherman (if we are talking pound-for-pound power within a closed 1 vs 1 simulation or immediate "Cold War" encounter sort of thing.)
That could be my own personal bias, but I think that perhaps the way the Sherman was built would have been able to take advantage of quality parts more.
The T-34 I think relied more heavily on spread out fighting effectiveness numbers and combined arms.
Inverse of the Germans who often concentrated too much value and power into single tank types that were not always able to reliably show gains on the battlefield for their overall cost of production and resources, but that still often worked very effectively on that scale when things worked as expected.
Thing is in war, one cannot always count on the best-laid plans or "good" intentions.
So yeah. The Shermanator Terminator probably manages to balance out quality per quantity more efficiently in its context of existence.

    • @AnonyMous-ql9nj
      @AnonyMous-ql9nj 2 года назад

      That is actually not true.
The sherman was made to be very repairable and sport kind of a long distance engagement since they didnt wanna afford to lose tanks often because everytime one died, they had to send it overseas.
The sherman was classified by the germans as one of the lowest threats while classifying the T-34 as a very big one which i personally think kind of decides the point.
The T-34 is a much more diverse tank which in my own opinion is better in almost every single way, simply bc the Russians has wayyy more warfare experience and knew what the tank needed.
The T-34 therefore would have roundkicked an american tank in a 1v1 in any terrain.
