Thats because it is powered by electric motors instead of a gasoline one, you can have a simplified gearbox which allows a better gear ratio in reverse

For the reverse one the sturmpanzer could fire its gun for a boost and to be fair for the tug of war, the sturmpanzer is built using a pz 2 hull i think. Ive also found i quite entertaining to bring tanks like the sturmpanzer into higher br games
it also gives you about 20k silver lions for a kill, but only for the first one sadly, as you somehow can't get the achievement rank does not matter more than once per battle. I do that with my Puma all the time. Currently, I don't have the sturmpanzer in my line-up because I want to bring both the duck and the SA Alouette II out. And with the Leopard A1A1, the Kugelblitz because I sometimes need to use it because I hate some of the ground pounders at times, and the marder, because gaijin gaijined me again with the addition of the second version of the marder, that I now need to research aswell in order to be able to progress to rank 6....

You can use the recoil to bounce back out of spots if a driver gets killed.

This video did a terrible job with shell comparison, the Sturmpanzer II shell is HE which overpressure, the maus has an HE shell too but it wasn't used, instead the worst of its AP shell is used, putting it at a huge disadvantage. The Maus HE shell should be used as it overpressure.

Once you get to 7.0, pretty much every kill is a guaranteed 20k. Currently doing that to grind the Maus cost.
MAUS reverse speed actually surprises me.
But at the end of the day, a 1.0 tank has better killing consistency than it, shame.
Dude, the 1.0 tank is using a gun a full 80mm bigger than the Maus and all of that extra diameter is bursting charge. It just overpressures everything and spalls the armor, literally no other tank can do that so reliably, it’s got a gun bigger (though shorter) than any Destroyer and several early Cruisers. What can anyone do to top that? 😂

Actually the maus has a very quick neutral turn if you're in the right gear. I used to play the maus with manual shifting, 2nd and 3rd gear make the maus turn very quickly.

What the hell is with those firing sound effects? Too good.
1. During the reverse the maus kept on adjusting the turn slightly, this heavily reduces the speed, not really the best of tests.
2. Knowing how to properly use the maus, the turning speed is much much faster, the gear shift ai is stupid so it doesn't properly shift to the fastest gear. in addition, braking, when turning the sturmpanzer locks one side of the track and turns the other, the Maus can do this but you have to have manual have binds for this. Right/Left Brakes plus the either gear 4 or 5 will give you the fastest possible turning speed, 7 is higher on flat ground but 4 is faster on slopes. the fastest turn speed for the Maus is about 11-12 seconds full turn
3. Shells types matter, the Maus has HE you know, it can overpressure, you fired HEAT from the Maus and HE from the Sturmpanzer II, come on, fire HEAT with both or fire HE for both. The Maus HE is decently good for overpressure, your putting it at a disadvantage

Try dropping a bomb on an open top vehicle and see if the bomb striking a crew member will kill the one hit before it explodes. Maybe try different size bombs too
last that was tested, the answer was no. bombs do not have the capability to do damage via impact in war thunder
