I'll be riding this in a couple of weeks. I first rode the narrow gauge 17 years ago at the age of 13. Me and some compadres used the steam rig to get into the Weminuche Wilderness section of the colorado trail. Hopped on the train in durango and gave em our backpacks. Train stopped shortly after crater lake at Molass Pass. We hopped off and were tossed our backpacks by one of the guys working the rig. We proceeded to backpack for several days, unfortunately snowed out of the entire trail and had to return to molass pass and throw our thumbs up to catch the train back to Silverton. We eventually made our way back to Durango 7 days post our initial departure.
McCall also recorded the vocals for a song called There’s No Stopping us which was sent to all the N&W railways employees a month before the railroad merged with the Southern Railway as a way of saying thanks. What’s interesting though, is that his name isn’t mentioned on the Vinyl record. Only the ad agency that produced it. It was never copyrighted and can be found on RUclips.

My friend and I must have watched this a hundred times when we were 3, and now that we found it it’s bringing some memories back
Well this just made the song truly come alive. Thanks
Literally one of the best version of The Silverton I have ever heard it's probably better then the original 21:02
