Looks great, we're getting one soon and look forward to playing with the footage. A minor technical point - the footage you're seeing in Insta360 Studio *is* stitched. What you're looking at is the flat equirectangular projection of that stitched file. The actual unstitched file is two circular fisheye views - one for each camera. Moon Player displays the equirectangular projection as a sphere you can look around.

yeah this looks awesome! Getting closer to making it a more versatile product. they gotta build that vr360 option into the native photos app for even more convenience for the enduser

Great tip, no really. It’s a great tip. I love the AVP but wanted to know how to make 360 video other than using the iPhone 15 pro. This will be great for filming, editing, and using in AVP. Thank you!

Can you comment on quality? Is there a way you can post that video somewhere so we can download and see for ourselves?

It would be better if the person could vanished from the video automatically. Then it could be used for virtual visites of tours. Or is there way..?

Um, I don’t think so. Unless you like sat it on a selfie stick on top of some sort of motorized gizmo.

I think the usual technique is to put a black circle or logo at the bottom of the video (aka "nadir logo" or "base logo"). The default one is big enough to cover the selfie stick, but you can make a larger one to block out your whole body. That's assuming you're holding it over your head, with something like a backpack mount. The higher the camera is above you, the smaller the area you need to block out.
Actually doing like a content-aware fill would be amazing though - seems like it should be possible but don't know whether any software can do that yet.

Possibly by using the 3-meter selfie stick and you raise the camera high above, but it would look more like a drone shot rather than regular perspective. Another option is to mount the camera on a tripod and just walk away from it. You don't need to worry about framing the shot since it's 360. You can trim the beginning and the ending of the video where you come up to the camera to start/stop the recording (or maybe use a remote).

You can remove them using vfx.

Pretty cool, honestly. But pretty useless. A lot of steps just to view 360 on a VR device that’s already kind of dead and forgotten.

It also works on Meta Quest 3 -- instead of MoonPlayer you could use Skybox VR player ($10) or the built in video player. I own a Meta Quest 3 and do not own the Vision Pro. Watching 360 videos in VR is immersive and quite amazing. You won't truly understand how special it is until you experience it yourself. I am glad I got an Insta360 X4 before my vacation to Italy. And it doesn't have to be with Insta360 X4 -- this should work with other 360 cameras such as from GoPro - but obviously the workflow will differ slightly. This video does demonstrate how straightforward the workflow is for the Insta360 X4. The difference for the Meta Quest 3 is instead of airdrop, just connect the Meta Quest 3 headset via USB-C cable to the computer. But yeah, the Vision Pro is just too expensive for most people. So in that regards, yes, it's pretty useless since most people won't own a Vision Pro.

@@jeffliu70 @Enidx10 I have both the Meta Quest 3 and the Vision Pros and the experience is very different - the immersive videos on the Vison Pros is incredible and if the Insta 360 X4 can give me the ability to make my own immersive videos then thats going to be amazing. I will be able to relive some of the experience I have recorded

@@mr.morales0707 It largely depends on if you need 360 video. But it also does regular shots in 4K. It’s a pretty versatile little camera, and I plan on keeping it in my camera repertoire alongside my iPhone 15 Pro Max and Sony FX30. I’ll probably do an in-depth video with it after WWDC madness ends :)
