If I could literally see that the dude had a flush I still couldn't fold that hand . Also, Hustler isn't going to let anyone play in that game that won't flat 10x trash.
Its the live tell that confused him. To him it was more that he had it than a bluff But if he read closer, he would see its most likely a bluff Since nobody would stare you down like that with the goods
I don't study gto but if you bet there you have to call a raise. Safest thing to do is to check though and call river...says my non gto training. Does gto agree with this or no way?
Its a really good break down for a good player, however this dude isn't a good player and he was wasted I think Nick should have definatly taken this into consideration. Like 10 hands prior Dark Knight called an all in preflop for 8K with a 6/4 off. DK was also in a ton of pots showing crap all the time, with the ace of clubs redraw here I really have no idea how he makes this fold against this player....total nit.
its not NIT .. he just.... isnt good enough to read opponent with nut blocker in his hand ...maybe he needs to seat at 1/3 or 2/5 table and he might be losing player .... i bet he couldnt beat 10NL online for sure
@@baileyayyy5085 it's a really good video tho. He played the hand with it appearing like DK had a flush to help illustrate how results oriented so much of the community's judgements are.
As much as I hate the guy, he’s getting too much crap for this fold. The A of clubs is a horrible card to call off with here, it blocks all the natural bluffs. It’s a call for sure, but there’s so many worse folds out there.
To be fair, Nick's bad fold here is not so much evidence of the pitfalls of exploitative play or the benefits of gto, but rather that good strategies (exploitative or otherwise) are hard to employ. Plus the "hero complex" is real (namely people would get out of their way to make big calls/big folds just because... reasons)

Nick vertucci is a very bad poker player. Also trying to analyze a hand from HCL is an exercise in futility. This is reality tv show and should not be used as a tool on how to play poker correctly.
Having a baseline for when you have no information on an opponent is great, but you can just check your HUD for population tendencies which are basically that they call too much and bluff too little. For that reason just overfolding in this spot makes sense, unless you saw him drink 13 margaritas 😂
This is unarguably and without a doubt the most underrated poker channel on RUclips. So. Good.😂🔥
Honestly, DGAF's commentary in this hand is the funniest poker commentary I've ever heard 🤣🤣🤣
commentary of alll time. This goes up there with "put it in reverse terry"
The commentary during this hand is pure gold.
It's incredible. DGAF is a genius.
Having the Ace of clubs is what makes it a ridiculously bad fold.
This is the most entertaining poker analysis I’ve seen in quite a while.
Also, kudos. This is the best explanation I have seen for how the "exact" situation doesn't have to happen again to allow you to be exploited.

With the Ac in his hand, this fold is so egregiously terrible. Even if he's not bluffing that often, you still have outs.
Dark knight has a good fantasy

No. Some Euro guy on a show like 17-20 years ago folded a set on a no flush no straight board. Worst fold ever IMHO
Dark Night had 14 Tequila Shots! Great Fold!!
How he folded that hand, lol. The guy has rhe nut straight whit the nut flush redraw and he just open folded it :(;
He's never bluffing in that spot. And when I say that spot I mean being Batman because Batman never lies.
