I live in Canada, and I'm investing in Burundi, what I can tell is a lot of opportunities and as everywhere it is not easy, you have to fight hard to make it. about the road I will say it is descent, not bad, Taxes still cheaper in EAC ... Just avoid politics and focus in your business

What would it be like as an American individual investor to invest in Burundi for the following markets:
    1. Real estate rental property
    2. Real estate AirBnB property
    3. Export
    4. Creating Solar panels
    5. Opening a factory to employ manufacturing
    6. Acquiring commercial land, farm land, real estate property
    7. Establishing an electricity company using solar panels as a resource
    8. Property and goods security & protection
    9. Legal Officials and litigation services

Only one thing out of this list stood out to me, which is real-estate rental properties.
Now here's something that nobody seems to be thinking about on ground. 👇🏾
New residential upper middle class neighborhoods arise almost every two to 4yrs. And what's missing is affordable homes/apartments in these upcoming neighborhoods. My observation has been that there are people wishing to live in secured upper middle class neighbourhoods but can not due to rental prices. If they could however find affordable hoes within these neighborhoods, then they'd 100% move in. Now that is where the security for your return on investment comes in. Cheap affordable homes that'll always have tenants.
Hopefully I made myself understood on this point.

One positive is that Burundi is a beautiful country. If the Burundi government can get the tourism thing going and become more tourist friendly with their policies then a ton of people would visit.

Really, the only thing to do when you stay in Burundi is to learn French. French is spoken in the whole of West Africa, not solely in France, Belgium or Canada as you say.

    • @NotSoBurundian

Yes I know. But those are not economies that people tend to flock to. Economies with the most attraction and most recognized in the world are not French.

Unfortunately I don't have that information for you. No price is fixed in any of those businesses given that you have to consider that rent varies from place to place, where you outsource your machinery also has varying prices. You'd have to research on each individual business to find that out.

A minimum of $10k, would be sufficient to start a small business in Burundi, but you have to bear in mind that Burundi is a small market

    1. What are the best small business start-ups in Burundi?
    2. How to work a remote online job whilst living in Burundi?
    3. How to stay “on-code” with the government, to prevent tax “situations” for small business investors?
    4. How could we invest in you and your company?
    5. What is the process of traveling to Burundi from America’s major cities?

    • @NotSoBurundian

      1. Like I said in the video, allot of small businesses are just sprouting up in recent years, and all are in their trial phase as they solidify their position in the economy. I couldn't possibly tell you what the best small businesses are because almost everything is undergoing its trial phase at the moment. But what really sells best in Burundi at the moment is entertainment (Business that cater to people's need to getaway from stress)
      2. This is a tricky one. All because I am yet to come across individuals that can claim to be working with an internet connection that they deem to be sufficient enough (bandwidth wise) for remote jobs.
      3. There's no one way to go about it. You just align yourself with the powers in rule. One individual at a time as you slowly introduce yourself into the system.
      4. I don't have a company per-say, I just have ideas amd this youtube channel at the moment. I am in no position to promise great returns on investments made in me as I am just building myself up at the moment. Anything thrown my way right now would be a donation that helps me solidify my ground in Burundi.
      5. All it takes is a visa application online through a website or visa on arrival. Otherwise a plane ticket is all that is needed in between.
