This man is SOOOO wrong. It’s all about condition when you’re talking that money. Nothing wrong with played with pieces, but he’s naming off mint in to box prices. And this doll isn’t a #2 barbie. She’s 1961-62 earliest. She has just as many homemade pieces as she does black label barbie items.... and you won’t see a bubble cut barbie going for 600$... I’m smacking my head during most of this appraisal. One thing he did get right, is that she has an amazing collection. Her doll is beautiful, but not worth the amount he gave her. You need to find someone more knowledgeable for your doll appraisals in the barbie department

Dakota Hedges I agree with you on so many levels! Good thing this woman loves her collection because of the sentimental value and not because of its monetary value. As for appraisers, it is really important to find someone knowledgeable in specific fields. I was lucky enough to be able to attend The Antiques Roadshow and bring in some of my items. The appraiser was correct on some of the facts but his appraisal values were totally off.

You are so right! I have been to several doll shows and the most expensive Barbie was from 1957 and they were asking 450.00......Most items there were about 40.00.

@@bruceezzell3511 That's not possible. Barbie came out in 1959.

That’s why so many people post on eBay crazy expensive thinking they are so rare. I got a pretty large collection starting in 2015 but I feel the value is going down down in the original era and mod is going up

He does NOT know his stuff. Bubblecut Barbies didn't appear until 1961!!!!! And his price quoting is WAY off. Sheesh.
