    Fascinating. I was for a few years an airbrush artist and often miss the techniques I could use then. I love that you have brought more tools for images that look like images and not paint effects to gel plate printing. It certainly takes time to explore the potential of these plates, people like you help open us up to what we can do to open up the possibilities. Loved your image, both versions.

    Can you describe your gelli plate set up, i see layers of tape maybe paper and arcylic sheet??..thank you for your information, enjoy your videos and telling us about your process you use..this reminds me of the 1940 and 2950s colors for advertising and magazines, like the colors..

    • @gelwithmark
      @gelwithmark  7 месяцев назад +2

      So on this one I started off with a charcoal and soft pastel image drawn onto tracing paper which I then transferred onto my gel plate. I then painted the figure with acrylic paint. I then used paper stencils and hot glue gun stencils to make the background with water based spray paint. I wasn’t too happy with how the background turned out on the print so I then just used spray paint and paper masks to redo the background directly onto the actual print.
      I hope that has answered your question. If you weren’t aware there is an audio commentary on this video of what I’m doing.

    Mark: the original image is charcoal pencil drawing on tracing paper... right? The lines seem very fine.

    • @gelwithmark
