- Defeating Pale Prince, a modded version of Pure Vessel created by 56. This mod boosts Pure Vessel making him faster, gain new attacks, and overall makes him slightly more difficult.
This one's pretty rough and the hardest modded boss I've beaten. It's really easy to make mistakes on this fight and with 3000 health it takes a lot to finish Pale Prince. The first phase isn't too bad and mostly slows you down. Fire trails with the lunge/triple slash make dashing through Pale Prince a bad idea (unless you dash right where he starts the attack). It's when you hit phase two that things get interesting. Fake out dashes (which sometimes work in your favor if PP switches to a triple slash) make it safer to just not try to pogo lunges. Both void streams have their problems in anticipating them. Then in P3 you get the javelin maze, which isn't too difficult to perform the small hops to get through it but by that point playing it safe with descending dark is so much easier.
I found myself liking Lifeblood Core for the ability to take two extra hits (very handy when learning the fight). However, using Quick Slash or Shaman Stone likely would have sped up the fight a good bit. There are especially more openings to really make use of Quick Slash.
Dashing against the wall at the start wasn't some grand strategy - my cat simply wanted attention during the boss scream and when I went back to play my fingers were on the wrong buttons. But it all worked out in the end.
My thanks as well to TheDarkMarioAndSonic for reminding me of the most important aspect of this mod: No matter how buffed Pure Vessel might be, this is only a fraction of his true might if he still had his cape. #MakePureVesselCapedAgain

The primal aspid is the most powerful boss in the game, and losing only three health instead of your entire health pool is a miracle

These things are harder than both Pure Vessel and Absolute Radiance, trust me.
Radiance in Gruz Mother is easier than this.

Honestly when it comes to radiance names, although i think atomic radiance is a harder fight, I dislike the name.

You fail to realize that the cape gives him the last bit of his power, as the cape itself is a Descendant of Slave Knight Gael.

I love how you can clearly see that he's fighting using both soul and void.
This is probably one of the most well-made boss mods I've seen in terms of custom movesets and visual polish. Props to 56 for this. And excellent job as always, CrankyTemplar!

Actually this boss does 2 dm on default, and 4 dm at attune, so he's actually doing at the lowest difficulty..
Atuned is the lowest difficulty , ascended is double damage and radiant is 1shot .

Although this looks super hard, it's pretty good tbh. Like how the pale prince leaves both light and void trail, the rain shower with the pale prince floating (needs balancing tho). Of all crazy variant bosses, this is my favourite.
Hilda has good animation. The story could be improved though. It's all very simple and straight forward. I think DuckTales has better animation, and Star Vs the Forces of Evil has a better story. Hilda is like a cute and dumbed down version of Adventure Time mixed with Gravity Falls.

This is actually most balanced and well made boss mode I've seen on Hollow Knight.
Hard but fair and I can see a lot of effort put on the mode.
U say that the attack where field covers with obstacles and u have to use descending dive is fair?

@@ivankoshan5104 it just means you have to save up on soul, I think that's pretty clever and forces a lot of people out of their comfort zones, I'm on pantheon of hallownest and I've only just started using my soul attacks more often, if there was a boss that forced me to do just that than I would have a better idea on how to properly use them

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PV AND PP
Pure Vessel has less downtime inbetween attacks
His Daggar attack has 2 variations, a normal one with a focus shield and one that spit void like the Hollow Knight's spit attack
His Slam down to a forest of blades has two versions, raining swords or swords that emerge from the ceiling and the floor. He also gains a trail here
His 3 slash combo has a trail and shoots three blades going in his direction
His dash has two variation, a normal one with a trail and a "fake out" type where he dashes and does it again in quick succession
Jumps in a parabola with a trail
He spits void, there are 2 variations, one acts the the original Hollow Knights infection spit attack, the other is like a big sheet of void
His void tendrils shoot void as well
He levitates in the air, summoning trailing blades in a grid like way

It always amazes me how the bosses use the same attacks over and over again in hollow knight and yet i still want to throw my controller at the TV

We know HK probably had to make it through Path of Pain in order to meet the Pale King's qualifications. I think it would be really cool if someone designed a modded Pure Vessel that kited through the Path of Pain as you fought it, so you had to navigate Path of Pain and fight at the same time. Also, it might take advantage of some of the obstacles to dodge attack and such.
Ofc, it also sounds incredibly difficult to make and I don't have even close to the skills necessary to make it, but it would be awesome if someone did.

I have a really cool challenge using a glitch I just discovered by mistake;
go to absrad bossfight, and a bit before absrad shows up in person start charging dreamnail up to teleport, then it will make you teleport out of the fight into the hall of gods when the shaking starts, which will make your screen endlessly shake until you exit and come back or start absrad bossfight again.
using this glitch fight any boss and they will become so much tougher

Imagine all of the insane modded bosses grouped together in a pantheon
well, there's something close, which is about as good as it gets rn. pantheon of regrets, look it up. honorable mention to pantheon of nightmares and pantheon of the ascended
Coming up on 170 hours and I have the first two pantheons beats with all bindings. 3 bindings away from 5 lifeblood masks per resting room. I’ve beat all bosses on radiant save 2 currently. And I can guarantee this guy would kick my ass for a few hours before I started to get the hang of it.

For me the hardest holow Knight Boss fight was the pure vessel , It was even harder then the NGK . Just loking at this makes me want to cry because i Just realised i sukc at this game . Congrats Men yure a legend .

I love most of this mod, but I feel the aftereffect is just artificial difficulty. Especially that part where the swords cover the whole screen. There's no way to dodge those without descending dark. I think it would only work w/ the Nightmare Grimm fight. Cool mod tho
