    Hey Skylite. NJ buddy here. Thanks for this great video. Loved it! LGA was my old stomping grounds when I live in Brooklyn and used to fly AA back and forth to Buffalo during college. I don't think that there is any approach that beats LGA, except for maybe the Canarsie approach into JFK. Sent you an email today. Stay safe my friend !

    Hahaha! Thank you for sharing your trip fly into New York! it is so nice to fly into the city and see the new and old buildings. I continue to still miss the two older World Trade Buildings along with the other buildings in the area. That is always what I always miss and remember about living New York.

      Looks like you flew over part of the Long Island Parkway before you were to land. Yes, this is New York with some great memories, people and food.

    Look at the baby crawling to the gate! I’ve always thought of the Embraer ERJ as the baby Boeing a320 only small and cute like a little baby! 👶🏽

    Wow. This is taking me back to my teen years living in NYC. Very good views of Staten Island. Good view of Newark Airport. Even though it's been renamed Liberty Airport, no one in the New York area and certainly not in that part of NJ calls it Liberty. They call it Newark.
    Great view of the F Train line. Great views of the Brooklyn CBD and of the Financial District. New York is unique in that it has not one CBD, but 2: The Financial District and Midtown Manhattan. This makes sense when you look at the history of NY, how it began, how it developed.
    Good views of the BQE. In the opening scene of the 2008 movie 100 Feet with Famke Janssen, she's being taken along the BQE by that police detective. If you haven't seen 100 Feet, I recommend it.
    Good views of the Number 7 line and also of the LIRR lines. It's mind-boggling how low you go over the freeway right before you land on Runway 4. You should see how it looks when you're ON this piece of freeway and you see a plane only 100 above you whooshing by - JEEZ!!
    Anyhow, another fine video. The nice thing about this one: no jetlag!

    • @OSTARAEB4
      @OSTARAEB4 2 года назад

      True. How about how low you come in above the water with the hook onto 31 or 22 Hudson River hook over Westchester or North Bronx?!

    • @scottbridge9391
      @scottbridge9391 2 года назад

      @@OSTARAEB4 For Runway 22, you're only a few hundred feet above the water and finally about 50 just before you get to the runway. The same goes for runway 31.
      Runway 31 is probably the trickiest one of all to get into because you're just under 500 feet when you go over the area near the Citicorp stadium (formerly Shea Stadium).
      To add to the difficulty, they built those humungous blue and white buildings right underneath the flight path, making VERY little room for error for the pilots.
      You have to wonder what those idiot developers were thinking when they designed those things - and the city officials who approved of it.
      I have the utmost respect for the pilots who are able to get into LGA, especially via Runway 31. You're facing a very densely populated area with LOTS of buildings and other structures and also high winds.
      Remember that there are 3 major airports in NY - LGA, JFK and EWR, each with their own flight paths in a densely populated major metropolitan area.
      Living in NY during my teen years, I became knowledgeable about this kind of thing.

    It's been several decades since I've seen the inside of LGA and the renovation of the Central Terminal is eye-opening. Very impressive. They just need to give some attention to those short runways and extend those piers while blowing up Rikers. Also, from your videos, the landing performance of the ERJ-170 is impressive. I'm not a fan of most reg'l jets but I like this one.

    Neat to see a landing on runway 4. Usually most are over flushing bay to 31. Was that the new terminal you arrived at? If so what are your impressions?

    Richmond,the one-time capital of the CSA! No doubt your brakes were red-hot upon making that relatively short landing roll! Amazing how much punishment brakes can take when managing a landing such as LGA! Is this your 1st time at LGA since the comprehensive terminal rebuild? Any idea what the clearance is for aircraft tails under the skywalk? Interesting how the captain broke the 'sterile cockpit' rule in announcing the NYC skyline. A VAST difference in scenery between the grit and grime of NYC vs Joplin! Were you connecting elsewhere? Footage coming soon? Good catch on that Allegheny ( "Late Againy") retro scheme!

    This plane is exactly the same one that I have to take to go to Killeen, TX since there's no direct flight from where I live. What's interesting is that they only 1 seat of the left and 2 on the right. I leave from LaGuardia to go to Texas too lol

    Great fly! What is your top favorite US regional airlines?

    • @sla31
      @sla31  2 года назад

      Thanks my friend. Most of the regionals simply fly for the major airlines, so there's really not much that differentiates them from each other. So, I guess in terms of reliability, and just having the least issues... I'd probably say Envoy Air or maybe Horizon Air. I seem to end up having a lot of delays on Republic and SkyWest. If we're going to look at the independent carriers, which are really more "commuter" airlines. I really like Denver Air Connection.

      My favorite plane is the Airbus A340-600. Just something about it being so long with those four massive engines!
