This is exactly what I want to do. Thank you for sharing! Congrats on your fitness journey so far. I gotta get back on my grind. I got accepted into RN school recently. I am excited! Any advice on what type of jobs would give me some experience once I finish school?
Hey thanks! I’m trying! Congratulations on getting into nursing school!!! You got this! If your goal is to get into informatics, it would help just to have a couple years of clinical experience in a acute care hospital because you’ll have an idea of the workflow of staff nurses and the plan of care. It will help you once you get into informatics because you’ll know the ways to help the nurses and staff when it comes to documentation and navigating the systems. If you get a job at a hospital, definitely find out if they have a informatics committee. You’ll be able to network and get involved.
Hey there, first of all let me say congratulations on your journey and wishing more even more success for the future. Your videos were exactly what I needed to help motivate me as I am nearing the end of my educational journey into Informatics and was wondering if I’ve made the right choice. Like you, I’ve absolutely no hands-on experience with informatics, however, I took your advice and have begun my own networking within my hospital with the informatics team. Hoping to hear positive feedback. Are there any other tidbits of advice you may be able to offer me in getting hands-on experience? Also, what state do you think has the better job prospects? I’m in NC but looking to relocate.
Thanks for the kind words and support!! You are going on the right direction. I’m glad you are able to network and get familiar with the informatics team. Remember, you can reach out to the EMR companies like Cerner/Oracle, Epic and others. Once you get the hands on experience, you can get certified to become more marketable. In the last 5 years, I’ve seen informatics jobs skyrocket. I’m in Jersey but honestly informatics is now in demand so you are able to excel in any location. Also, after you get experience, there is always an option to work from home. I hope this helps! Congratulations on your journey!
I been doing my research in a bachelors degree program Health Informatics & Health Information Management. I just had a question that I would like to ask, does one have to be a RN or LPN in order to land a job in health informatics?

Nope not all. You don’t have to be a RN or LPN. You just need your degree in Health Informatics or HIM.
@@dopenursingish Thank you 😊
