    I like to file off gel polish. It's faster than soak off and there's something really satisfying about watching the polish disappear.

    Thank you for the great video, I’m a licensed Nail Tech in the USA for 16 years, I prefer using my e file when removing gel polish, however I do use a small glass container and just enough acetone to cover the bottom of the small glass container (I use a tea light candle holder that I picked up at my local Dollar Tree) and soak off the thin layer of base coat, this process with soaking and using a diamond bit with no pressure at all with my e file to remove the base coat, this process in total takes approximately 12-15 minutes and no damage is done to the natural nail, my clients nails are only in the acetone 3 minutes tops

    Thank you! I was finally able to remove my gel polish without having to add product to my nails! I would have to hand file to ensure i didn’t remove too much. I appreciate all of your videos that you share with us. I can’t tell you how many times you have taught me the correct way to achieve something I am trying to do more efficiently when I have done my own nails for over 25 years.although I am self taught ( didn’t have RUclips even 20 years ago) I do have a few girlfriends that are nail techs so i have a better understanding than most self taught wanna be nail techs lol your videos fine hone that understanding, thank you so much for all of the time and effort to share even the smallest technique ❤️

    I am very new to gel and e-file. I started my intense practice with gelX bit from the Nail Hub. I put on dark color then light color, practice removal of top color leaving bottom color. This has helped with pressure control. I also love the diamond football cuticle bit, great for sidewalls and cuticle cleanup. I use fine sanding band to remove nail shine before a gel application. Please let me know if it is a more effective way. I follow you and you are a great instructor.❤️

    Thank you so so much for this video! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻It answered a lot of questions I still had about the removal of gel polish. Also the part where you said that you could leave on a little rest of the gel polish.I always thought you always had to soak off everything and start new every time. I also prefer filing, I didn’t have so much success soaking off and I am not sure if it is something you should do every time you wanna change your design. Awesome design at the end also 💕

    Thank you for this tutorial, helpful as always :). When I start doing nails I just soak off but now i combine both on clients and practice only e-file on myself. I don't feel skilled enough to file off completly but hope i will some day. Knowing accetone is wraped around finger for 5 to 10min... somehow doesnt feels good XD. I watch a lots of tutorials how to file off gel polish from natural nails and mostly they say " base coat protect nail" but...in my nail school we were told that base coat must be apply realy realy thin so i dont know how to get mad skills of not overfilie that thin layer and damage natural nail.

  • @PumpkinssNailStation

    I file off as much As I cAn from my own nails then I soak off when it gets thinner as don’t like to file near my natural nails x

    No clients here, but I e-file it off of myself!! Yeah that ring finger and pinky are the least comfortable! My ring finger us even crooked making it even harder.. but still easier for me than soaking off! That takes so long. I'm always ready to get to my next design! Thanks for sharing your tips!! 💜💖💜💖 USA here

    This was a really helpful video.
    I am not a nail tech, but normally have gel on my nails all the time.
    I live in Zimbabwe, I have never had the electric fine used on my nails before.
    Here they generally break the seal with a hand file and then soak issuing acetone and foil.
    I find my nails to be weak and damaged most of the time

    I normally just use regular polish. So I am a first time gel polish user. Does soaking off the polish make the nail thin and flimsy? Is it better to get a drill and use it for myself, since I am not a nail tech?

    • @rachellechristensen5530
      @rachellechristensen5530 5 лет назад

      If you use acetone formulated for use on nails (e.g. Beauty Secrets brand) it does not damage your nails but can dry them out. If you are not used to using an electric file, the soak off might be better for you. Putting cuticle oil on before removal can help. Check out this great tutorial by #thenailhub

    Not a nail tech, but on myself, I file off if I have enhancements on. I’d much rather file off even if I don’t have enhancements, but am too afraid of damaging the natural nail. So, I steam them off with acetone, which for me is quicker than foil/acetone. It cuts the time in half for me. Gels really cling to me for some reason. My daughter can steam hers off in 5 min, but it takes me 30 min. If I do the foil/acetone, then it can take an hour.
