The eyes of Demon Slayer characters are ALL different; to sizes, shape and color. There's much detail to them and they sometimes have close ups in the show. There's so many designs in them I have trouble picking which ones I love. But I'd probably pick Tanjiro's, Inosuke, and Shinobu.
Kimetsu No Yaiba is my absolute favorite manga AND anime. It's not perfect, ( Although I hate to admit it.. ) but it's still amazing and extremely beautiful, and entertaining. 7:07 But, but In Yin and Yang, Yin- the dark side- is considered to be the passive side that keeps the masculine power of Yang- the light side if you will- in check; characters that wreak chaos would more likely be seen as white as far as that is concerned Neither is inherently good or evil mind you But as far as good and evil are concerned in the most cliché sense, an evil character is more likely to be characterized as white, as evil characters tend to be antagonistic, which means they often aren’t being passive A good character would likely be viewed as a combination of both, as they protect people from the evil, yet still generally respect the group or society they serve and would exhibit passive behavior when dealing with them rather than aggressive behavior to make them fall in line As for a dark character, naturally either a hero or villain could be a more dark than light character since as I said above, neither is inherently good or evil; additionally, it’s difficult to ascribe it to either a cliché hero or villain due to the fact that this is the passive element, making it difficult for either side to have as their dominant half, due to the fact that they generally need a masculine element to get literally anything done Zenitsu would probably be the best example relating to Demon Slayer though, as he is almost always passive until towards the end of the first season, wanting to avoid conflict at all costs, preferring to run rather than fight if it’s not absolutely necessary for his survival We could probably say that Zenitsu is Yin, Inosuke, with his constant picking of fights and domineering personality Yang and Tanjirou with his bravery tempered by common sense and empathy both Yin and Yang Having said all that, assuming that Rengoku knows when to quit and recover, as well as when to talk rather than fight, he’s probably a mix of the two as well, as it would be difficult for a purely Yin Hashira to exist Shinazugawa is a seemingly perfect example of a mostly Yang Hashira, as he only ever shows passive behavior toward the Master so far as we’ve seen I’m sorry for expressing my autism so vehemently, I just thought you may find it interesting
Oh and if anyone more knowledgeable happens to swing by and read this and sees that I’m wrong, feel free to correct me; I’d like to learn more if I turn out to be very incorrect, though I am relatively confident that I am correct
You know, you said that we don't have time to analyze all the Hashira's design, but being honest i would love to watch a video of you analyzing them all, but even so i still love the video, keep up the good work 👍🏿
I kinda agree to an extent all the colors put into some are way too much some feel like an over design. I like the more subtle one's in bleach more but the ones in demon slayer are unique.
I enjoyed this a lot I found it relaxing as you dissected one of my favorite pillars design. Wish you could do them all (and maybe other characters than the pillars) but that's a lot of work and you're busy. Thank you for making this video! It was amazing! I'll watch it again to relax probably. (I enjoy people analysing stuff so--)
I enjoyed this video. Rengoku was the character that confused me the most when they showed the trailer. He gave off the crazy vibe but at the same time no. Maybe next time I watch a visual medium I'll be more thoughtful about the design.
Wait but what about characters like Shinobu who have designs that give off a positive impression but when it comes to they’re actual emotional/ mental writing it’s different
Gotouges Gender is actually unconfirmed! Them being female has ended up being nothing but a baseless rumor, which is also why I used "they" throughout this video: we simply don't know.
This video is anime-only-friendly and only "spoils" the designs of the Hashira and the personality of one of them.
Thanks

So by just looking at its design, completely divoided of any context within the story we have gathered thay Giyuu:

But, but
In Yin and Yang, Yin- the dark side- is considered to be the passive side that keeps the masculine power of Yang- the light side if you will- in check; characters that wreak chaos would more likely be seen as white as far as that is concerned
Neither is inherently good or evil mind you
But as far as good and evil are concerned in the most cliché sense, an evil character is more likely to be characterized as white, as evil characters tend to be antagonistic, which means they often aren’t being passive
A good character would likely be viewed as a combination of both, as they protect people from the evil, yet still generally respect the group or society they serve and would exhibit passive behavior when dealing with them rather than aggressive behavior to make them fall in line
As for a dark character, naturally either a hero or villain could be a more dark than light character since as I said above, neither is inherently good or evil; additionally, it’s difficult to ascribe it to either a cliché hero or villain due to the fact that this is the passive element, making it difficult for either side to have as their dominant half, due to the fact that they generally need a masculine element to get literally anything done
Zenitsu would probably be the best example relating to Demon Slayer though, as he is almost always passive until towards the end of the first season, wanting to avoid conflict at all costs, preferring to run rather than fight if it’s not absolutely necessary for his survival
We could probably say that Zenitsu is Yin, Inosuke, with his constant picking of fights and domineering personality Yang and Tanjirou with his bravery tempered by common sense and empathy both Yin and Yang
Having said all that, assuming that Rengoku knows when to quit and recover, as well as when to talk rather than fight, he’s probably a mix of the two as well, as it would be difficult for a purely Yin Hashira to exist
Shinazugawa is a seemingly perfect example of a mostly Yang Hashira, as he only ever shows passive behavior toward the Master so far as we’ve seen
I’m sorry for expressing my autism so vehemently, I just thought you may find it interesting
Oh and if anyone more knowledgeable happens to swing by and read this and sees that I’m wrong, feel free to correct me; I’d like to learn more if I turn out to be very incorrect, though I am relatively confident that I am correct
You know, you said that we don't have time to analyze all the Hashira's design, but being honest i would love to watch a video of you analyzing them all, but even so i still love the video, keep up the good work 👍🏿
Yeah please
I guess the same can be said for the Akatsuki, everyone wears the same clothes but they're still very dinstinct by their visual quirks.
You did a great job here ^^ btw in my opinion Rengoku one of the most ( beautiful ) designed character :)
I think this video might have gotten me to cave and finally give Demon Slayer a go
This is gonna get a lot of views have my word
please analyze Gyoumei Himejima, he's such a simply designed character but he's so strong and actually really important for the big fights
It's honestly one of my favorite things about the series. Good video!
I really liked this video! Thank you for making such amazing content, hope we'll see more KNY videos in the future :)
Really nice video. I've always been interested in character design and l think this might be your funniest video
I kinda agree to an extent all the colors put into some are way too much some feel like an over design.
I like the more subtle one's in bleach more but the ones in demon slayer are unique.
Well, consider all the overly abnormal situation they are in, an eye for an eye it seems
I love akaza and his backstory the most
Eh, I find his good though but I liked Rui's backstory more.
His design is so good
I kinda hopped on the train of 'despite everything, I really love this Akaza dude' and I can't get out
I really appreciate breakdown of character concept like this. Hope to see more!
I'd love to see an analysis on Sanemi and Genya's designs :)
'flamboyant exorcist.' I'm definetly using that from now on
great video as always
also, thanks for the banana, i was hungry
I’m a simple man. I see aniki, I play and like the video
I like the us of blue prints for the background
"Writing and visuals share a space, so both need to be as efficient as possible"
Then there is Bojack Horseman's 22 minute 20 second monologue episode
my first impression of rengoku was "he looks like a good boi"
liking this video bc the design of kimetsu no yaiba is freaking awesome ! thanks so much :D i hope it reach a lot of people !!!
MY MANS RENGOKU WAS ON THE THUMBNAIL SO I CLICK
Me too
In my opinion, Shinobu is the best character design
They manage to make Shinobus haori look like actual butterfly wings when she is in on mid air in the manga
Phenomenal analysis. Liked & subscribed!
Break all of em down! Tell me more!
I loved the designs of the Hashira as soon as I saw them, thanks for giving them some attention :D
Agreed some people were like lol he is giving threats while laughing thats my boi
Really hope you do more videos on the designs of the hashira
Wait but what about characters like Shinobu who have designs that give off a positive impression but when it comes to they’re actual emotional/ mental writing it’s different
I feel like Dabi from mha is like the exact opposite kind of fire user lmao
I wouldn’t mind a short series about the pillars tbh. I found this fascinating!
Great video. Really helping mecreate good character designs
I wish you could have talked about the rest of the Hashira, flaming shopping carts or not. T_T
Female mangaka always have really cool character designs. Clamp was always a big favorite when it came to that stuff.
Gotouges Gender is actually unconfirmed! Them being female has ended up being nothing but a baseless rumor, which is also why I used "they" throughout this video: we simply don't know.
Agreed inuyasha, full metal alchemist
There individual design is so fucking unique
I really like the way you explains!!
without ufotable, kimetsu no yaiba looks like the same with the manga
i was sobbing the whole time he's describing rengoku. *Give him baaack, gotouge, give him baaaack*
Just look at this dude looks like a god come to rescue one of the most unique desighn in anime
