    This is antique malaysia police car,My uncle used to call it 'badak tampung', He also had this sentimental 1978 alfa romeo alfetta batalina that complete with alfa polished racing head, alfa racing crankshaft,dell orto racing carburetors,and few racing parts that alfa made specially for this car, he got it from fellow singaporean in the early 80s,the exterior and interior is quite same as this,only the wheels are different but also had 'alfa' and 'speed line' on it,It rarely broke down and never been send to workshop since he done everythings by himself,when still kid,i used to ride with his car few times,he loves to brag about his alfa by showing the good handling and acceleration in overtaking faster newer car and he never lied about that,the engine sounded like muscle car in high speed, last times i saw about 10 years ago he drive it to masjid and market,now i heard my cousin said the car are now park full time,since my uncle are now getting older,maybe he unable to give fast response on quite hard clutch and gas pedal on that alfa,he now used an automatic car,Honestly his alfa is the best car sound i ever ride with stock exhaust,Only who owns and used to ride it understand why jeremy clarkson said alfa romeo is sentimental to him..

    Well I'm not an Alfisti but somehow I can relate to the feeling of owning and driving a relic from the past. The problem we have today is that we are currently living in the era where cars are too good and what of a better word - emotionless.
    For couple of years, I've enjoyed 'quantity' driven performance cars that works like clockwork. It was all good until I tasted the old Satria GTI. Used to own one so to own one again, I had to get my brother to buy it hahaha.
    It wasn't a perfect car...but it was the perfect car to me. It was a joy whenever I have a chance to drive it around provided I didn't get stranded by the roadside. It gives more than just 'quantitative' driving, it makes you able to relive back the good old days where every sunday is sunday drive day and where every 1st saturday is track day. Oh well we grow up all right. But then, we don't stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing ;)

      Fantastic feedback!! Love this, thank you!! On the contrary, I'm of the belief that guys NEVER grow up, their toys just get bigger, hahahaha!!
      And I wholeheartedly agree, modern day cars do TOO much for the driver, it's like they're driving you, not the other way around. This car, no bullshit, it will bite u if you're not careful, disrespect it once and you'll pay dearly. It doesn't really want to kill you, but it will if you're not careful 😆😆😆

    I'm internally screaming right now. I always wanted to find classic Alfa Romeo but I never found the one I want. My dad had a 166 V6 but he sold it. So any advice Alfa 164 and what should I look out for?

    • @ChrisWeevilGarage
      @ChrisWeevilGarage  5 лет назад

      With the 164 (aka 168), it's the electronics that you have to be wary about, the original looms didn't survive well, made worse by many owners fitting aftermarket stuff. The 3.0 V6 is a magnificent car, I had one 😊😊😊

      Den Sheng Ho Chris is spot on with regards to the Yat Lok Sei/Fatt series. When i had them..was in the '90s and newish. Looms of the '90s weren't that well made, and even the venerable MBZ W140/124 multivalves need loom replacements. Money no object, a 105 series, GT/V or Spider of the '70s that will be an investment niways.

      @@denshengho7505 maybe u can consider a 145 boxer, 146 or even a 155. I've never had the former 2, but I've got friends who love them. I've had a few 155s in the past, they're excellent too, and relatively easy to maintain 😊
