Hi, just installed mine today, I have a car port which also has a motion sensor to turn on the outside lights if there is movement, my camera is around 20cm from the sensor. What is a mystery is when I view the camera from my phone my outside lights turn on!, yep (obviously only at night). I am wondering if there is some signal / beam from the camera what the motion sensor see's and activates the lights.. strange I know. Like the vid btw
Wembley Funny you mention that, I have noticed the same thing with some of my cameras that are close to my outdoor floodlights. And it’s not just the Reolink brand, it happens with some of my other cameras too.
@@overclockersclub It's not an issue for me, it's actually extra security in a strange way as when I'm checking the cam at night the lights turn on, keeping them thieving gits at bay hopefully.
Great video, thank you for looking into this! I have 2 questions if it's not too late. 1) can I record the h264/5 feed independently of the Reolink apps. i.e. onto my own LAN server? 2) at night can you look at a live feed even if the PIR sensor has not triggered, i.e. could I force the camera to activate and show an image/video feed to see if my gate is closed or open?
Can the camera record continuously and not just while there is movement? Is it possible to connect the camera to electricity in addition to the battery?
Battery powered cameras are generally not designed to record continuously. You can hook it up to a regular wall adapter, like you are charging the battery but just leave it plugged in all the time. Really though, there are other cameras from Reolink that are much better suited for recording continuously. I really like Lumus and the 511W.
That is hard to answer because there are many variables and every situation is different. You have to play with the settings to find the sweet spot between false positives and missing legitimate activity - and this is true with many cameras. For example: the settings for an area with a lot of people or car traffic will be different than aiming it at your front door.
@ Pure junk brother. Worst investment I've made this year. I'm gonna sell them on eBay and get a better system. There's a difference between cheap and inexpensive. This brand is CHEAP junk.
There is a free plan that covers only one camera / 7 days / 1GB. Then there are plans that cover more cameras with more storage for different fees. Check out the Reolink website for details. Look for the "Cloud" drop down menu - and then scroll down. There is an Android app and a PC app. I use them both. Go to Support / Download Center.
It really depends on how often the camera is triggered. If you have it in an area that has a lot of traffic (people, animals, etc.) then the battery will be used faster. If it is somewhere that is quiet (not much action) then you will get a much longer time on the battery. So I would go with the solar panel if possible.
This video would have been real nice if you hadn’t wasted time showing us how to unbox it but shown useful information like say…… how to hook it up to the WiFi, maybe how to install the camera and mounting the solar panel.
Sorry about that - I usually have a more detailed clip about that - but at 7:50 in this video I do show the WiFi. ruclips.net/video/PIZWkPeSthc/видео.html The setup is the same for all of the Reolink cameras I have used.
Talk about the email notification upon motion detection? How is image or video sent to email? How long is video (or is it picture attachment only)?
Hi, Can you please do a review in the new argus eco V2??
mine doesn't speak on startup i do have a green light ?????

can i add more than one camera on this system?
Angel Cat Yes, the phone app will work with multiple cameras. I have 10 Reolink cameras that I can access through the smart phone app.
Thanks for the info just bought another one !
Also can I add another camera even if it’s not solar capability the plug in wall unit?
Angel Cat Sure, the app does not care where the camera gets power from.
Angel Cat The limiting factor is typically the strength / quality of your Wi-Fi signal.
Could not get mine to connect to my router..i got very pissed off with it...its up for sale 5 hrs after i bought it.
Well I know that the router name has to be exact. If you have 2.4 and 5GHz on your network, you need to make sure you are selecting the 2.4.

@@overclockersclub thank u
I am looking for a 2 pack security camera kit that does not require Wi-Fi I live in a very remote area that does not have Wi-Fi Towers
Can you get the video feed to show up a on firestick TV??
Do you have many false alerts or it is very accurate?

Can we receive push notifications on 2 devices simultaneously?
OuiOui Yes. Any device with the app installed and linked to that camera can get a push notice.
OverclockersClub thank you
Any clue how long the Camera works, with solar? Pure on the battery..... Good review btw :)
Great video. That helped me heaps to make a decision. I think I’m going to buy the camera and solar panel. Thank you.

How long does the company claim the battery will last?
Do you mean when it will no longer accept a charge and needs to be replaced?

Pity you did not show connecting camera to app and your wifi router....
is it monthly fee? if you wish to use the app on android, or the computer?

@@overclockersclub Ok cool! Thanks!!
Smartthings integration?
SmartThings - not yet - but they are working on integration with Alexa and Google Assistant.
So it gobbling up all kinds of data. Only free for a while. Then it has a catch.
Hola muy bien el video, se puede conectar la misma camara para mas dispozutivos telefono y portátil
