This was where I started my queast on BBS. Charlie Stars Starr Lead Everything. They al love each other, and keep growing. These days they mostly play Rock -- Real HEAVY Rock, still give each credit, Sometimes they just gave at Challie w/ awa. Say what they mean. I’m a trained musician, mosrtly singer, they really Will be very well known. Best thing I’ve heard for about 35 years. I’m fast becoming their biggest fan; let me know more . Will be seeing them live SEPT 9;EDINBURGH 2014. Enjoy you BBS Ride. I found them in my Tom Petty RIP mix. Goodnight x 🐇
If you ever get a chance to go see them live, DO IT! I've been to 100+ concerts in my life, and Blackberry Smoke is right up there with The Eagles in awesomeness.
Also watch some of the videos from the Capricorn Studio in Macon, Ga. Absolutely amazing. The bass player and the drummer are brothers from my hometown, Smyrna, Ga. Going on 63 and I still live here.
For anyone new to Blackberry Smoke I suggest watching "Leave a Scar, Live: North Carolina" it's part Documentary and a full live concert. It really shows how the band formed and their deep Southern roots.
BBS is very much the REAL deal! Living out their lives in their songs! Paul Jackson, IMHO, is the Michael Anthony of today - perfect harmonies for exactly what the SONG needs! Long live BBS!
Just search RUclips for them. There is a concert from North Carolina a few years back. This song is included as well as a set list that just keeps getting better. Be forewarned they are addictive. Rip Brit Turner. ❤
This song has been one of my favorite songs for a few years now. I'm 69 years old and wish more people my age (who say that nobody makes good music anymore) would listen to this song. As it touches ones soul.
Lead singer, Charlie Starr is one of the best guitar players out there. He is a monster electric lead and a slide player. Everybody wants Charlie to sit in with them. Check out videos with him and Warren Hanes playing together. Check out acoustic version of "Ain't Much Left of Me". He's a great songwriter too.
Grew up 15 miles away in a smaller town same county from him, he speaks the truth. Both of our towns were hurt bad when textile mills left in the 80's! Glad he got out, I did as well but it never stops calling your name, I will be back one day there is peace there!
There's been so many comments from people who lived locally. I love it. Thanks for the message. Makes it even more country/Americana when I hear these stories.
Just saw them again in Nashville last Saturday night and have this entire song on video. I love this song because I got out but so many of my friends are still in their town.
I would not say it is only Country-Rock what they are playing, maybe Southern-Rock, but sure it is Rock'n'Roll. I discovered this band by gigs they did together with the great "Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown".
Great band! They have 8 or 9 albums out, plus a couple of EPs and a live album or 2. Think early 70s Stones (Exile on Main Street, Let it Bleed, Beggars Banquet) and you’ll catch the right vibe. They claimed they were” too country for rock&roll, and too rock&roll for country”.Real music for real people!
You have discovered the best band out there talent wise period my friend! They are authentic and sound exactly the same live. It's a shame they don't get played on the air. Charlie Starr is a super guitarist and writer.
Great review video. I enjoyed it! I first heard Blackberry Smoke on Tom Petty Radio on Sirius XM. Blackberry Smoke and Amanda Shires played a tune called "let me down easy". I found the video on youtube and I've been hooked on Blackberry Smoke acoustic versions ever since. Not a huge fan of the live rock shows but they are awesome on their acoustic tracks.
Always a pleasure to see someone discovering BBS :) they are so amazing live too. If you liked this, definitely check out the Brewery Sessions of Tyler Childers - Whitehouse Road and Colter Wall - The devil wears a suit and a tie
Pretty sure I saw a video of Charlie saying he is picking with his finger and the pick at the same time in this song, pulling up on a string while strumming. I believe it was this song. I would have to find the video again.
They are really a nice Rock Country band man! Just discovered then 2 months ago and have been digging more since than. Chears from Rio de Janeiro - Brazil!
Wow, this is the first time for me with this song and this artist. And I loved it, too! Thank you for sharing this with us. And yes, I can see the Lynyrd Skynyrd look in them! :)
Good reactions, man. New subscriber here. If you like high-quality music like this, I've got a few suggestions for you. Certainly more talented myself. But sounds like every other country group. Ive never been a fan.
Yeah that's fair. Each to their own.
I believe it is in "C". It starts off Am C Am C, then Dm F G C Dm F C. Just to get you started. I ran into them online last year, and I am a fan.
Oh yeah you might be right. Still getting my head round this whole music theory thing 😂
@@DaveWildheart Thanks for the acknowledgement. Most don't.
