Moisture and gentle handling made a great difference in my hair. I started finger detangling with oil, sealing my ends in extra dark castor oil, and frequently trimming my ends along with onion juice treatments. My hair got so long (max length was 21 inches) and thicker.
Have you ever discussed hard water on your channel? I just rediscovered that this is a massive contributor to a lot of people's hair problems, itchiness, reduction in hair growth, dryness etc all the bad stuff and that you simply just need to install a shower filter and it makes such a difference!!! Highly recommend to anyone still struggling after trying all they can to get they're hair back to life and health. I've been there and this one change made a massive massive difference!!
Dont u feel like not everyone can install that kind of stuff or in certain countries or areas , this is how the water is and it is the différence of hair care and regularity from one person to another that makes a huge difference ? I feel like water can have an impact on hair rétention but if you already have the hair care system understood. That the impact will be minimal if u know how to take care of your hair no matter where u live or the type of water u have access to ?
@@crepusco9821 Yeah I hear what your saying there is that I was just shedding light on a possibility that it could be due to hard water as one of the set backs to hair growth etc. Agree with what you've said and trust me the installation system is not difficult I'm not really a handy lady for them things myself so i must say it was very easy, but the country regulations etc your right there's that, didn't think that was much and issue its just attaching a filter to your shower head but if you say so.
This challenge has been a game changer for me! Doing the steps every day, plus extra, is allowing my hair to flourish! It’s growing thicker, longer, and stronger. I finger detangle, oil my hair consistently, and twists are my protective style of choice. Can’t wait to see how my hair looks at the end of this, but most importantly, it’s given me a discipline that I love with my hair. Thank you @CurlyProverbz! 🙏🏾🙏🏾
I braid my hair and pin the ends up every night. In the morning I use castor oil on the ends before detangling my wavy Native American hair. The castor oil helps so much. I do let my hair air dry but other than that I do keep it up and wrapped. Keeping my ends tucked and pinned. I also drink a daily tea infusion made by Kathrine Sewing here on RUclips. Drink it every morning.
Detangling while being distracted by a movie or a show is a great idea. Also, the tip about hair breaking off right at shoulder length once it reaches our clothes was something I hadn’t thought about before.
This is so true! I had to encourage my daughters that up do’s and protective style will bring their hair back as we transitioned from relaxer to natural. Once they did they hair is healthier and stronger than ever! Always wearing it out and not using a bonnet and the hair literally getting stuck in the winter coat fibers was evidence enough that a new hair path and journey was needed. All great tips and advice!
I was team finger detangling. However, using a high quality tool safely to remove the shed hair is better for me. Knots often happen due to left behind shed hair. Also, protecting my hair from friction via botanical gels, butters, silk/ satin, etc. also help. Be wel.🙏🏾
Finger detangling is great. You can still break your hair if you go too fast. Patience is key and knowing your hair. I can work pretty fast because I have been doing it for years. But when I come to a complex tangle, I take my time and only loose like one or two strands instead if a cluster. I rarely use a tool on my hair.
You're the main reason my hair is below bra strap length after five years being natural and I thank you so much for the wealth of information you have provided and continue to provide us! Unfortunately, my bangs tend to stay at armpit length. They seem to be so fragile compared to the rest of my hair even with henna and using tea spritzes. I've put them up, left them out, clipped them back loosely and they still remain at arm pit length. I'm hoping one day I'll find what's preventing them from flourishing. I may need to strictly finger detangle them. I'll figure it out eventually lol.
I love the spaghetti analogy. I noticed that when I first went natural over twenty years ago, I strictly detangle and my hair grew so fast. I added in a detangling tool and growth appeared to slow but now I know how to use it. Sopping with conditioner under the shower stream when using a detangler and not until AFTER I’ve finger detangled as far as I could go. #agamechanger
If people hair didn’t grow then you wouldn’t have to relax our hair but once. When I changed how I manipulated my daughters hair-the recovery was so swift! Less heat, a gentler approach and less manipulation was a game changer. Also everything is not for everybody. I am allergic to black castor oil. My daughter isn’t. We use the best products for our individual needs even though our hair type is similar. I want to try Ayurvedic.
I've definitely gotten lazy!!!!!!! My hair is at a standstill, it's getting thicker but no longer I think lol. I've been doing the finger detangling in my shower and also right before I comb or brush, with wet hair with oil or conditioner. I actually lost so much hair last September. Your teas work!!! Plus, I've added a few more herbs.
Farida, would we ever have your products sold in uk/amazon anytime soon pls?? It pains me to place beautiful products in a basket only to find the shipping cost is more e expensive than the actual products, that can't be right, especially when you're based here(I presume you're uk based) If not, pls suggest a cheaper way of shipping costs! I was so excited when I managed to order MSM from your uk link on uk amazon last week, that's how it should be. Keep up the great work we keep sharing your content in our community 👏x
Like your videos. I want to check out the Vietnemese lady's hair videos. I also watch Katherine Sewing's channel like someone else mentioned. There is old fashioned sewing stuff, but also several videos on old fashioned ways to get great hair retention and she has long thick curly hair. Mine is just a good wave. One thing I know she mentioned was not to detangle hair when one is in the shower or when the hair is still wet, because it is 30% weaker and more prone to stretch and break. Just started this and MSM, which this channel also recommends, maybe 2 months ago and even my husband notices the growth/retention. :p
🙋🏾♂️hands up for constant breakage, I recently chopped off all my hair and shaved my head so I can begin a new hair care routine to keep diligently, and I found your videos very helpful 💜🪶 much thanks
Will you share your specific daily/weekly/monthly routine steps..togetherin one place. I enjoy seeing the breadcrumbs. It helps me think more linearly about what efficiencies I can add or tweak!❤
I needed this!! I get so frustrated with my hair Y’all! It seems like it hit a plateau and just stuck there for for the longest. My hair is so thick that it seems like when I finger detangle my style isn’t as defined… maybe that’s how it’s supposed to be?
My issue is split ends. I haven't been able to keep up with my trims as I should. So I'm definitely going to add these tips to my routine. I'm thinking about getting a fresh layer cut and just start fresh.
I was the same. I got a cut, and now every wash week I go through my hair an just cut the split ends. I now don't need to got to the salon as much as I used to.
My ends are definitely and issue. I have fine high porosity hair and it seems I need to use protein often. I had my ends trimmed but I think my ends needs to be trimmed some more because I went a loongg time without getting them trimmed initially so I think I really need a good cut higher up the length of my hair🤦🏽♀️
You videos saved my hair and was the best I've seen in years. Thank you so much!! As of a couple of years ago, I have been lazy because I had it highlighted and sooo regret. It ruined my hard work and is now dry. I am getting back to babying my hair again. Lets do this!
I think there should be some consideration as to the hormonal state of the woman. Menapause causes the hair growth and density to decline drastically...
This sista’ does not lie! I do exactly what she says. I watch tv or a movie and detangle, the distraction definitely helps. ✋tangle tezzer was a game changer and oil or detangle lotion is a definite no option. PROTECT! You will see a difference.
Thanks for the great tips! I have been incorporating honey more in my hair diet. I hope you do a video on ideas for how to use honey and it's benefits. I do notice more moisture and strength...
Hi ! How do you use the honey for your hair ? I'm still searching the right way to keep my hair moisturized. I tried amla but my hair was soooo dry after I'm scared to try again...
@@lovingU973 Hi there, I used the honey by first wetting my hair every night, and then I dab very small amount on my hair. It actually keeps my hair in place and defines my waves more. I find you only need a dab and with enough water it's not sticky. Also, I like to put it in my conditioner when I wash my hair. I love amla and it can dry out too some hair but I decided to use it when I use my conditioner, and I have a mixture of fenegreek and amla that I try to now use about twice a week. Honestly a little honey holds my hair better than any gel ever has and all day; but that's just me. It might be different for someone else though.

I am so appreciative of any help. Sincerely

I totally do the finger detangling for my children and I. It does take more time, but is so worth it. Breakage has gone way down.
As soon as i stopped using combs 3 years ago, i saw a huge increase in hair retention. Finger combing and detangling is the best for my fine hair.

I was wondering, what's the least amount of time that the henna mask should sit in your hair?
Normally I leave in for 45min - 1 hr. Also if using henna allow dye release for 4 hours before application to the hair.
I wanted to order on the site but wondering why the uk shopping is so much at £22?
Just saw the q&a

Hi - Beast Mode …. Curly Proverbs- I love your content and products, I have purchased the henna and fenugreek elixir- though it’s helpful with strength and conditioning , I’m still not having any results with thinning edges and crown Alopecia, what can I do? Any suggestions.
You should start using ayurvedic oils, teas, sprays and masks with herbs that stop hair loss and grow hair i.e. stinging nettle, saw palmetto, ashwaganda, coffee, black/green tea (all DHT blockers), neem, blackseed, rosemary, cloves, onion (all scalp health), amla, fenegreek, moringa, hibiscus, cassia (all growth/strengthening).
So I have RA which affects my fingers what do you suggest for detangling
