Thank you for your thorough, unbiased evaluation of the G44. I don't need another. 22 pistol right now, but if I did I would buy a G44 with confidence after seeing your review. I especially appreciated the info about the front sight. I liked the outro, but just as important was the sound of those spring peepers! You rarely hear that out here in Arizona.

I have to say, I’m not sure what’s going on but I just shot my G44 today for the first time. Put over 500 rounds thru it and had zero failures. I used 5 different brands of ammo, but they were all 40 grain high velocity. I also cleaned it before I shot it. But I did pay attention to make sure that all of the first rounds were tip up in the magazine... that was no big deal. I am extremely satisfied with the gun and it was very accurate.

I just hope I can get them on my G44 ( I just bought it and have never done anything like this before ) this will be my first pistol and my first time doing things like putting different sights on one. So wish me luck and please don’t laugh.

The 6- o'clock hold is a game of balancing the blurred dot on the post of the front sight and guessing. the center hold is positive thinking, The front sight is in the black, so the shot will be in the black. (It's not what you are aiming at so much as long as it is in that area, it is what you are aiming with) I always use a center hold. good video- Dave

I took the glock armorer course last year and fan of glocks, I have a friend who works at the factory . So you can say I have a insider lol. In saying this the G44 was release too soon and it was their Beta model that they sent out! They also had issues with 15 and 20 round mags thats why then shipped them with 10rd mags. So I will wait 2 years before I get one! They still have a lot of bugs to work out.

Your video is the first that presented a detailed solution. That’s valuable content. Thank you again!

  • @garyK.45ACP
    @garyK.45ACP 4 года назад

I like your intro graphic and your video technical skills are definitely getting better. The content, as always, is great.
I don't mind the long video. Your idea was good. There was one well known channel that stated the G44 had "zero malfunctions" even though his own video showed a clear stovepipe in one of the shots. He then had to re-upload the video with a "correction"
I usually expect some malfunctions with a .22 autoloader. My wife has a S&W 422 she shoots very well, and shoots a LOT. 200-300 rounds a week. She gets an occasional fail to fire with cheap bulk ammo, and if I don't clean it often enough it can give some extraction problems. (who knew?) Once, it failed to extract and simply would not extract the fired case. I had to use a cleaning rod to punch it out. I gave it a quick brushing and squirt of CLP right there at the range and it was fine after that. If you are shooting .22s, keep a cleaning rod, bore brush and toothbrush handy and a small can of your favorite bore cleaner.
For practice, and for a training pistol, an occasional malfunction can be overlooked as the price of cheap training (and training to clear malfunctions is not a bad thing, either)
All that said...one can buy a practice/training .22 for less than the Glock and have the same (or less) malfunctions.

I have a friend who just bought this gun. She said she wanted to toss it in the garbage. Said she couldn’t get through one magazine without at least 2 jams. Her words. I told her I saw a video where they loaded the mags 1 round at a time like any other mag, and not by pulling down the tabs and just dropping in the rounds. This way the rounds stack properly in the mag and showed way less malfunctioning. She said she would give it a try. Have you heard this? Thanks for the video.

Yeah, mine shot high, too. I called Glock and they sent me a taller front sight, now it's right on. From .165" to .215.
The only malfunctions mine has seen has been shooting Wolf MT, which were expected. Too low a velocity to fully cycle the slide. I'm at the 700-750 rounds mark now. Runs great. Glad I didn't believe all the early videos, although you do have to pay attention to loading it. No biggie.

The primer indentation on that Federal round should have fired the round. I was shooting my Smith model 41 with Remington Golden ammo, and had several misfires . A manager from the local Ruger manufacturing plant here in North Carolina was at the range, and said that they had done extensive testing on a new Ruger and had some similar misfires, which were due to the primer compound separating from the case rim.

Good shooting and great video. i had a 22 Ruger convertible loaned to me to try and see why it didn't shoot. It was sited in for 22 lr with no down rear adjustment left and the mags shot so high that you had to change front sites when you changed from lr to mag. It was quite accurate with the mags though.

  • @harrycallahan9733

2:20 Put that round in the chamber again, but rotate it slightly so the firing pin will strike a different area in the rim. If the round fires, it's the ammo's problem: The previous strike hit a spot on the rim that wasn't filled with primer goop; If the round fails to fire again, it's probably the gun :)

Mr. Buffalo's Outdoors you didn't mention it, but I am sure after the first G44 ammo test video you cleaned your G44 very well before doing this video. Otherwise fouling could have caused some of your eight problem firings in this test. Please comment on your cleaning routine for your G44. Currently in the spring of 2021, G44's are as scarce as Hen's teeth in Albuquerque, NM. I found a Glock USA refurbished G44 on line from a very Big Gun Shop in Kentucky. I ordered it and it should be received by my local FFL this week. Hopefully it shoots well. Wish me luck. I have never bought a refurbished firearm before.

Thank you very much for the great review.
I have been shooting R Thundbolts through my Ruger 10/22, which tends to be a bit picky with ammo (for me). So I hope it will run smoothly through the G44 if I decide to pick one up.
Still not sure if I should rather go for the M&P22c as it is slightly cheaper in South-Africa where I live.
Which of those two would you take if you could pick only one?

Do you think the taller the shooter the higher the front sight. Maybe the designer of G44 was short so the stock factory front sight works for Shorty's? For high G quality $$$ should have the extra threaded barrel & suppressor as a kit with 2nt barrel being a 4,6,8 inch target barrel as it's kit priced. 🤑 Great vid work.💘G44!
