the first screen I saw in a car was in a 1985 Buick, they hadn't invented touch screens yet. just think of how big a backup camera would have been back then
Well, all those special things are standard on all trucks now. Only mechanical difference you'll look at nowadays is it's 4wd or 2wd and if it has lockers or not.
I wish it was still the 70’s. Every time I see a video of that decade I want to go back. Cigarettes, wood panelling, the fashion and of course the vehicles. I long for the 70’s.
70s was a high time for fashion. Everything had style. I have a 1977 Buick regal, man every time I get in that thing my confidence levels probably go a little too high lol
Yeah ive had a couple of the 67 to 72 body styletrucks and they are definitely good trucks .I had a 71 3/4 ton 2 wheel drive great truck and i also had a 72 halfton 4x4 and was evenagood strong truck as i put it through alot and even jumped it 3 different timesand it didnt break the truckup so i can attest to they wervery good trucks.
The Chrysler ads are the most ludicrous. The very things that they bring up as negative features of the competition, they end up using at some point. But at least the manufacturers weren't afraid of head to head comparisons instead of stupid crap today.
Sweet lookin, greatly designed trucks that GM ever made. The trouble with them is that they were so rust prone, especially around the rocker panels. I don't know if it's because of the metal or the triangular design that caught water and debris.
I've had both and they were both good trucks but I will say this,,, you go down an old country gravel road,, dirt road,, washboard road,, and for whatever reason the Ford just soaks that stuff up so much better than the Chevy ,,, don't know why..
for all the boasting done for chevy ...i find it funny they never talked about interior room...the ford was larger,,,,,and they never mentioned the ford has a longer wheel base

Somone got extremely jealous 😂😂. Fact is the 67-72 Chevrolet trucks are one of the most sought after body style trucks in history. Chevrolet had much better control arm front suspension/ along with all of the other advantages
Man what a nice truck , not a overpriced spaceship like they are today!
trucks were for men, now chevy brags about self-driving technology and how luxurious the leather is.
I love how they discuss important aspects instead of how many cameras it has or how large the infotainment screen is.

Yeah. I don’t give two shits about touch screens and cameras on a truck.
That was a damn good looking truck, no question, particularly the 4WD.
I have one of these, crazy to think of the stories it has had throughout the last 55 years

No, the 70s sucked
life was different, no cell phones or internet, you had to make your own excitement
Yeah, the oil embargoes, 21% mortgage rates, rising crime rates, incredibly unsafe cars with few exceptions . . .
Cigarettes, that stuff sucks, everything else is a chef’s kiss on truck aesthetics

OMG the suspension test was the best 🤣🤣🤣
That was pretty funny I thought
The GM of yesterday, not today ! Sad
I bought a used '68 C/10 Stepside in 1973. Still running at 406,000 miles. Every time I gas up, someone asks if I want to sell it.
I friggin miss my '70 shortbed
It's amazing how a 16 year old Chevy truck wanted to work. Nowadays just try to get a 16 year old to work. 🐾🐾🐕

Ford is like "Yay, We figured out how to shave off 14 lbs with a lighter exhaust." Chevy presents it as a negative lol
it all depends how you look at it

CHEVROLET TRUCKS!!! BUILT TO STAY TUFF!!
Those generation Chevy & generation Ford pickups have one thing in common, both were produced from 1967 through 1972.
i love these
My grandfather has a 70 c10 and he had it parked in his driveway and the neighbor was mowing and a rock got shot and put a big dent in the fender
As the camera zoomed out on the last truck in video. I could see the 1st generation S10 in it. 😆😆

When trucks were trucks
This is what I mean a reel truck not a peace of junk that we have today there quality has gone down since the 90s
Cool video and good points but I see easily 10x as many 70s Fords still driving than I do Chevrolets.
I guess it depends where you are. currently in the shop, I am working on a 68 c10. I see equal amounts of old ford and chevy trucks
I see far more Chevrolet trucks from 67-72 on the road around here than any bumpside ford
There are extreme amounts of Chevrolet trucks of this era that have been converted to hotrods

I'm just guessing here, so I may be going way, way out on a limb, but maybe because it's an info film paid for and about Chevrolet, not Ford?
I wish you could remove the night pitch whine in this one. It's really bad.
the ford identifies as a dodge
GM trucks were obviously far superior products than Ford back then.
In the real world those Ford Trucks were the best money can buy...... that's why the f-150 has been the best selling truck for nearly 60 years.
fords were tough, I just can't stand the twin I beam front suspension design. Ford trucks were unsafe to drive at 90mph or even 80
Ford Trucks was a cheaper made Vehicle.. The inside dash always cracked. Found on Road Dead..
What a load of Crap! Chevy & GMC trucks still outlast Fords in reliability through the years!
