1:52 fun fact: When I was younger my neighbours owned a eclectus parrot or Solomon parrot as it’s other name. You would sometimes hear him randomly saying “nice cuppa tea” somewhere next door. It was hilarious
Talk about eclectus, I have a female and they are eclectus but they have subspecies of solomon island, red sided, grand and vosmaers. The most commonly kept in europe is the vos and grand according to online research but I think there's more solomon island eclectus out there. Wonderful birds even if she bit me on the arm last night haha
You have a great personality that is great on screen I hope one day I can get better on screen, Been stuck in bed with a bad back so watching a few of your vids, Really enjoy the content so I put the bell on 👍🏼 Keep up the great work
@@WildlifeWithCookie I tell you what, this would be good for tiktok. But then again there are only three of them in the uk, so it makes sense why you didn't
MAn England has such a very different look on invasive species than we do in the US but I guess you guys don't really have the issues that we do here🦜 that said we do have a a species of parrot here in Connecticut I think they're green parrots also Brooklyn NYC we also have parakeets In New Haven ct to the parrots have been here since the 50s maybe the 60s they got out from the pet trade they end up causing a lot of problems with power lines and stuff with their nesting but I think it's pretty cool
That’s fantastic Cookie I never knew about this, I just go and visit at some point to search fir the 30 or so free roaming Amazon’s and 3 macaws. I’d have though the Amazons may breed naturally if out free flying
When i was about 10 years old, i went on holiday to Plymouth to visit some relatives, they took us to Dartmoor and there was a huge flock of Parakeets and budgies flying around there, i'm in my mid fifties now so not sure they are still breeding down there...But it was a weird thing to watch....
eh up Cookie. I'm lovin' this one. Did you know that there used to be a feral population of Macaws in the Netherlands? They were actually thriving until some people poached / stole them and sold them into the pet trade. Given a chance loads of parrot species could survive just as well in the UK. Just like the Wallabies in Northumberland. I often think about this, as mankind is changing the environment so much all over the world. Everyone thinks natural habitats are sacred (and so they are), but the reality is that humans are changing environments so much to cause extinction of local unique species. At the same time they are they are conserving areas that have lost their original big animal species. When I go to the USA I think about how they could use their space to populate with it with Rhinos' and Elephants and save these species. Does it matter that they're not original species? I don't think so. The mammoths, mastodons and buffalos have all gone, so why not replace them with mammals from other continents where they'll benefit from the protection they don't have at home. I don't know if anyone else has had this idea, but I think it's the way to go for animal conservation. What do you think?
I didn’t know about the Macaws in the Netherlands no, a sad turn of events it’s seems. As far as putting Rhinos/Elephants in America is concerned, I assume a lot of eco people would hate that idea but honestly if it fits then why not you know? Wallabies are in the UK because they can survive so who’s to say an Elephant can’t survive and thrive in America and that. After all, talks to bring back the Woolly Mammoth are a thing
Looking forward to watching this! I used to breed parrots like Cockatiels, Lineolated parakeets, Kakarikis and Love birds so will be nice to see others approach. Now I breed Canaries and British Finches, check out my channel if you are interested!😁
A message from my parakeets: * "We are not scared. We will invade. We and other birds will invade you humans. Cry in fear! This is not a joke! Your precious so called cities will be our lair, our nest, OUR TREE!!! AND WE DONT LIKE TRESSPASSERS!!!" *
Think you are getting wild and feral confused. Wild animals are native to the area, feral are species thst have been introduced to a non native ecosystem.
Your puppy is so cute! I really hope this continues well and the numbers increase, love it!
Thanks mate ❤️
