Great job really helpful. Best video out there
Did you have to trim the fender trim plastic?
Is the solid purple wire positive and the purple with black wire the ground?
please how to find the door wire color for Santa Fe 2020 if you dot have module i mean CAN H and L? thank you
I bought this exact same set slightly used with the pass through OBD plug to leave one port open for 700.00. I didn't have the instructions and your video was spot on!

Is this is 6 inch suspension lift? TY
Please furnish deployed measurement from top of step to floor on 2019 GMC DENALI 3500
Very nice good job buddy”
Anyone know what size the bolts are that hold them to body? I lost my mounting bolts after selling truck
I have an OBD dashcam. Will two OBD plug and play systems work at the same time (leaving them both plugged in)? Also, how does that light 3M tape hold up to high temps? The temp gets over 100 where i am, can't imagine how hot the road is.
I live in HOT low desert
Can they be put on a 97 GMC Sierra k1500??
when spending that kind of money, why wouldn't you use a torque wrench to the recommended specs?
Do i do the same with my 07 Avalanche
What about an OBD2 pass through for, tuners, pedal commanders, etc...?
Can get an OBD splitter if you need something else plugged in
How much dose this kit run for
What do you do if you have a tuner in that port?
Hayes Johnston: You would just need to purchase a splitter cable for your port.
Do the rear doors run off the same trigger wires as the front driver and front passenger trigger wires?
Martin, Yes they do!
What if I already have something plugged into the OBD2 port?
I bought some from a Silverado 2015 2500 I just have a question would they fit mine I have a Silverado 2014 1500...
luishdzoficial If paying to have the boards installed.....How long would it take start to finish ?
@@Nickels38 5 hours labor
@Luis hernandez Did they fit?
I have amp steps on my 06 f250 passenger side works perfect. Driver side will not go up. I’ve replaced the motor and the wiring looks fine, any ideas?
Did you find someone to help you cause I am having the same problem
My cousin tested the amp box under the hood and he said the side the step isn’t working on, isn’t reading voltage the working side does. So I’m assuming I’ll have to buy the box seein all the connections and fuses look fine. Also bought a new motor for it so that’s not the issue
TheFloridaBoy941 mine is doing the same thing.
Maybe its the obd2 plug..?
Control module
Mucho bueno
Is that adhesive durable or will it fall off easily??
If i had to guess it is 3M VHB tape. VHB stands for Very High Bond, and the stuff is incredibly durable when installed on a clean surface. You would have a hard time pulling it off by hand.
Thanks for the info im debating weather to get these or the XL steps
I would be so tempted to do to these what I have done to the ones for my Navigator. That is to remove the pins and set them up for zerk fittings on each end so that you can actually grease the pivot points. All of these steps use a steel bushing with a plastic bearing surface. That surface gets worn and then the boards stick.
If I have made you curious, then take a look at my rather extensive set of videos on rebuilding the hinges with pins altered for zerk fittings.

What if you have something plugged into that ODB???
Hey Caleb, we recommend using this, realtruck.com/p/amp-research-powerstep-pass-through-harness/.
Or…. (hear me out)…
You can just play the install fast n loose 12 beers deep and then ur steps will be wired inverse of each other so when u open the driver side the passenger side comes down, would highly recommend it😎
Why do the instructions call for you to go through the body mount if you can just install them the way you did?
Do the boards come down when you remote start???
No. They are activated by the door switch from the OBD2 connector using a signal from the CAN wires
Spend 1k on steps and have to put the motor on myself? That doesn’t make sense.
So pay the additional $300 and dont worry about the level of assembly required.
What's the maximum weight capacity for these?
I wanna say 600lbs each side
300 max. @@lunajohn83
@@benjohnson3700 amp-research-electricsteps.com/faq.php
600lbs 2nd question...i can post more links if needed
From what I've seen how they are mounted to the bracket looks like MAX 150 lbs 🤣 and why does every 3rd party always use glue for the lights instead of having mounts for the holes already there. Really how many times do you think your going to reglue them with all the rain and snow.
should of connected the two purple to the back of ADL outlet and not using the ADL plug.
I was thinking along similar lines. I already have a Edge CTS2 plugged into my OBD port, so I would be tapping into the wires that feed the OBD port, rather than using a OBD plug.
Very Noice !! 👍🏼
Angel Silver4Tseven: We agree!
Just looks so weak on how the boards mounts to the bracket 4 small screws holding the weight. Really don't see why they didn't extend a metal plate under the step supporting the weight.
Really don't like that they only have 2 mounts on each side. Doesn't look like they would hold a lot of weight compared to factory that has 4 mounts per side. Just wouldn't want a friend being overweight breaking them. Would buy them if they had the same as the factory step sides.
Get the XL.. they come with 4 per side and an extra $300 for that kit
I dont understand why all these companies don't make these mount to the frame instead of to the body where its half as strong and is prone to rot... i love these steps but I won't buy them until there's a way to mount them to my frame instead I dont like anything mounted to the body that I have to step on with all my weight... there used to be steps that mointed to the frame and then everyone started mounting them to the body ... doesnt make sense...here let's give them a place where dirt and salt etc can build up against the body... love the steps hate the mounting place :)
The holes are drilled from factory that way
🤢tywraps🤮
Not worth the 1200 for them and then the headache to install them or the 300 to 500 to have someone do them. Regular steps or hoops are just fine.
If 1200 bucks is a lot of money for you then you aren’t the intended market
I rather add that money to a lift kit and upgrade my wheel and tire combo.
