Im REALLY hoping this game goes places man. It has so much potential, so many alley ways it could take and become something beyond just having fun with different scenarios.

It could work out into a great game. Maybe a skilled based mm where you design tanks to fight others. But if it sticks as just a design game it’ll be forgotten when the updates start sucking IMO
Like the dev is online most of the time, and he sometimes responds to a member's request, mostly he has a guy that keeps players in touch with what is happening with the game

The 380mm is done with file editing, the game is only capable of showing up to 250mm in caliber.
The gun is pretty useless atm since i had to make shells really short in order to be able to even elevate the gun in the version this one was built.
Amazing model! Was it fully done in sprocket? Or did you use some other 3d software?

Lots of trickery with fuel tank and trench sled placing to get some details right.
I also did a Tiger I, Tiger (P) and Ferdinand, those should be also in the pack where my Sturmtiger is from.
@@dr.eisenhauer8922 sounds cool, i play a game called kerbal space program that involves a lot of the same stuff to make something looks accurate. I don't play sprocket (yet). But could you link me the models for when I do get it?
I spent at least 5 hours recreating the M4A2 Sherman the best I could using the real life measurements and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! I couldn't get the cannon to be realistic, it's too powerful at the real length, and couldn't make the turret rounded but otherwise it's fairly close.
I did the same with the tiger 2 H including the 105mm variant lol
I had fun trying the strv 103, jgpz E100, Udes 03 and lately ISU152 but you gotta do a video on it man
My favorite thing to do is combine parts of real life tanks. So far I've made a 17pdr Jumbo, a T-44 chassis with a Jumbo turret and a Super Pershing gun, and a B1 with an 88mm. Not to mention some of the original designs I've come up with, I love that I can make a serious tank but also a goofy tank. Next up I wanna try to recreate the M18 but with a 155mm gun lmao.

HE isn't in the game otherwise this would be usable, currently with a gun like the Sturmtiger you only get 18mm of penetration

No, it's not True, for 10 second reload and short shell YES, but, for 250 mm max lenth shell it would be 22 second reload and 197 mm penetration

Phly, you have to adjust the counterweight on large guns to make them usable.
Phly is so excited he forgets that for a 1.2m shell he needs a 1m long 5 tone breach.

Edit: phly the Canon is actually 380mm, the in game Max is 250 but u can config in game file up to 3000 mm or even more, idk the limit

I made a VK 30.02 (D) that I think is fairly good considering the lack of reliably accurate information on it but with time you can get things in this game to turn out pretty awesome!
Scale is really hard to get correct though for sure right now

That was perfectly timed Phly. And that Sturmtiger is bloody beautiful.
I think what you need to do with the gun to make elevation possible is look at the counterweight for the gun. With the long barrel, theres a lot of mass far from the pivot point and the elevation mechanism won't like that, so a counterweight will bring the centre of mass back to a manageable location.

HE doesn't exist in sprocket yet. It's APHE, and pen sucks cuz is big caliber with smol gun

Phly the crane WAS used in the loading process. It was used to lift the shell parts out of a specially aligned rack and into the breach, as it was far too heavy for the loader to lift without assistance. There are photos of it in use, the crane is actively being used and is down inside the tank in the images. It was not generally used to load shells into the tank from above as it was very easy to damage the breach. They were loaded through the reach hatch, that’s why the crane is located to the right almost above the rear hatch. when it rotates after picking up the shell, it actually winds up facing directly at the hatch, allowing it to be moved in easily to the rack.
imagine being one of the guys who wants to have this in war thunder and seeing this in the thumbnail and thinking it was part of the next war thunder event.

You need to keep the gun weight balanced to be able to elevate the gun, you can use the blue line to balance it.
Hey Phly, figuring out the vehicle files is great idea for videos. If you edit the crew loading ability you can get some fun things. Like a KV-2 with a 10rounds a second fire rate. Or how about 500 tone tank with a 250mm 200round per second auto gun. :D A recent patch did break the ability to have 1km long barrel but other things are great, like a tank that can go mach 3. Once you figure out how to edit the vehicle files the possibilities are endless.

The crane was how round were loaded into the storage rack
-12 rounds could be stored internally on a rack
-An internal roof mounted trolley would pick up each round from the rack and then maneuvered to a rolling rack in front of the breach because at 330kg it was impossible to manually load.
-It took 10 min to reload the gun

As someone who build a functional HS 30 Mortar carrier I can attest to the fact that hugh rounds with low speed from short barrels will be treated like a thrown rock.

I actually remember reading up on the big boi! I think you’re right with the crane only loading it into the main compartment of the tank, but I do believe that the upper hatch was opened to allow the crane to assist in loading those shells into the breach… Or you know, the absolute madlad Germans were just man handling those shells cracked up on happy dust LOL

I really like the Sturmtiger (L). What an impressive machine, I'm surprised more people aren't talking about it.
Just to clarify, the inside of the vehicle had a roller rack bridging the ammo storage to the gun breach. All the crew had to do was roll the shell off of the storage rack and slide it into the gun.
Day 45: Phly, you should play the Hawk III Chinese fighter; 900lbs of bombs in a biplane at 1.0 that you can dogfight in after dropping. Totally balanced.

Remember this was designed as a bunker/emplacement buster infantry support weapon for the eastern front NOT for fighting tanks. It was very forward thinking by the Germans, they saw a problem and engineered a tank for the specific problem. A heck of a lot more accurate and effective then pounding a spot with artillery or losing infantry to assaults on a strong point! 😮

Little info phly, u can put counterweight on the barrel now, and also, to have the best gun elevation try to put the blue line as close to it's own center as possible, u can make crazy long barrel with huge caliber just playing with overweight and thickness
As well, when in a campaign or scenario, there's a circle on bottom right, it starts filling as u progress until it's fully orange if I'm correct (so when u win)

Should I upload this tank I just made? It’s a 6.5 ton speed demon with 160mm of pen, 40-45 mm of front armor upper glacis, max speed of 86 kph, a turret, and I swear it takes flight when it hits a hill or a ramp, I love it, and what surprises me the most is, it doesn’t look like an abomination, it looks like a tank! (It isnt)
Took me like 2-4 hours to tune this thing, that’s like getting a... idk what to compare this tank to, an m22! To go the same speed as a modern car going almost top speed.

Don't mean to burst you bubble, but I'm pretty sure the dev said he will stick to late war/slightly post war, so no composite armor/heat-fs/apfsds due to complexity and balance. It might be possible to replicate the performance of these with file editing though.

Game is really raw, have many featured but LACK as much or even more. Aaanyway, what i wan't to say is, max reloding time possible in this game is 22 seconds, max penetration is 237.5 mm, also you can place stuff on extreme slopes if you place stuff on FLAT, and than make it extreme slope
