This video has helped my serve far more than any other PB serve video. At first, the comment about the paddle being higher than the wrist bothered me, as that would be illegal. However when David actually strikes the ball, his paddle is below his wrist. David has a very nice serve. My big take away...and what has made a huge difference in my serve is that I noticed that David really drops his right shoulder before striking the ball. It generates a lot of pace and as a former tennis player, it is a motion that I am very comfortable with. Dave does not mention this and yet it is the most significant portion of the entire video. It also insures that the serve is legal. I practiced hitting thousands of serves and didn't have the power and consistency. After dropping my shoulder and swinging through the ball, it changed everything within five minutes. This has made a huge difference in my serve.
This is how I serve. The ball jumps up at you when you are the receiving player. I also put more spin on the ball at times so it kicks up sideways. I do this by twisting my torso a little bit. Too much of this though can strain your lower back.
Btw I have different genre content but around 17k subscribers. Ive learned people are really more about the actual content than the fancy editing for the long term subscribers. Keep at it!
i’ve been working on this for a while, getting more consistent and knocking some aces against some better players by hitting the front left corner and kicking left. Do you ever do this serve from the left serving position? the aim/foot position seems to get me messed up from the left. Goal would be close to center line and kicking left a little. Especially when they are more towards the corner.
Try turning your upper body and feet more toward the direction your hitting the ball.I stay in the corner when serving from the backhand side,so I have more of a chance returning the ball with my forehand.Glad I can help
So you have a tutorial where you serve side is hidden from the camera, blocked by your body? Please redo this with camera close to the ball when served and unblocked by your body. Then on contact you need a slo-mo edit.
I was hoping that this video would be better but be better. Slow motion, camera angles, camera nearer, detailed explanation and slow narration of the strokes would have been helpful.
I hope this is a joke. Wearing his minto shirt and saying ummm a thousand times. No instructional skill at all. Jesus save the people who take this as gospel

Thanks, Coach! I'm practicing this weekend.
Thanks Coach David. Can't wait to try what you showed.
It’s really an inside out hard serve. Good stuff!
Helpful instructions. I’ll give it a try. Thanks

Also if you pronate too much like Morgan Evans you can rip your rotator cuff!
Thanks for the demonstration.
You are welcome!
Thanks for your instructions.
You are welcome!
Great serve. Never mind the haters. They have no idea how much time it takes to shoot edit upload and answer comments. Subbed.

His low hard serves look pretty good.

I would make three recommendation, Take your time when you serve, get in a routine, dont rush and dont hold your breath when you hit. breath out.
Where are you at coach Dave? would like to take pickleball lessons 😊
florida
Can you slow it down? Show the details of angle of paddle, point of contact …. Close up how to would benefit a lot! Good start
I will try better.Im still learning how to edit videos for the channel. It will get better with time. Thanks for watching
I will try to make them as easy as possible visually.Im still learning how to video correctly. Thanks
Scared me there for a minute when you were showing paddle above the wrist..... because that would make it an illegal serve.

I hit a topspin lob serve. Keeps people against the fence!
Record and upload it.... that sounds interesting.

Just learning how to edit videos and it does take time.Should get better every week. Thanks for watching
I don't find this serve difficult. I find it difficult to convince referees that it's legal.
Of course its legal. Look where he connects with the ball.
Sounds like he’s out of breath just from serving???
It's hard to talk and play at the same time... Time for some cardio
I have a full time job and plus its 110 degrees in florida. The heat tears you apart. Thanks for watching
